Chapter 1972: Chapter 1966: No Backsies
But no matter how difficult it was, her brother, Xiao Qi, came through. Now that he’s finally fallen for a girl, she hopes the girl likes him back. She doesn’t blame anyone for her own unhappiness, but she hopes that people around her can all be happy.
"I’ve been telling Yingying that Xiao Qi is a good guy, but Xiao Qi, what’s up with him? I’ve paved the road for him, but there’s no progress at all. Now he can’t even meet the person. What am I supposed to do?" Qin Xue is the most exasperated one. Nangong Beiying is her best friend, and she’s done so much. Xiao Qi still hasn’t managed to win her over; what else is there to say?
Now that Xiao Qi can’t find anyone, he’s come to her, and she’s even stepped in to help him. She’s done plenty, right? Who else could do as much as she has?
"Yeah, I know you’re the best, Qin Xue. As long as my brother finds happiness, I’ll definitely give you a big reward and put you on a pedestal, okay?" An Hao smiled at Qin Xue.
"Oh, come on, put me on a pedestal? Do you know what sort of people get placed on a pedestal?" Qin Xue has no interest in being a dead person.
"Haha, Qin Xue, you’re so funny." An Hao couldn’t help but laugh out loud, thinking about what Qin Xue said. Indeed, only gods and deceased people have positions of worship, but Qin Xue is alive, so no wonder she reacted like that.
"You know, and yet you laugh. You were the one who said it, honestly, I don’t know how you come up with these things." Qin Xue looked at An Hao wryly. But hey, life should be lived with laughter.
"Haha, my brain must’ve misfired, suddenly coming up with that word. To express my apologies, I’ll treat you to mousse dessert when we come back later." An Hao feels like she must have gone crazy.
"Alright, you said it, you better not back out." Qin Xue’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. She hadn’t had mousse in a long time; it’s only sold at Yingying’s shop. Today, when she and An Hao went to eat, she skipped dessert because she was too full. Hearing An Hao mention it now makes her crave it.
"Yeah, I said it, I’ll definitely fulfill your wish, how’s that?" An Hao laughed. Being with Qin Xue made all her gloom disappear; she suddenly felt the world had brightened up, most importantly, her heart had brightened up a lot.
"Bingo, finally getting something good out of this." Qin Xue babbled and fooled around with An Hao, finally lifting her spirits. It’s worth all the silly things she’s done for her.
"Listen to what you’re saying. When have I ever been stingy? It’s just that you’re too capable and never ask me to do anything, okay?" An Hao thought of Qin Xue’s competence; with her around, An Hao didn’t need to lift a finger. Can she really be blamed?
"I know, and from now on, I’ll ask more for your help. Girl, are you ready to take on the challenge?" Qin Xue thought she indeed didn’t have the habit of relying on others. With Chu Molin, it was only occasionally; most of the time, she made her own decisions, so An Hao thinking she was strong-willed was no problem.
But a lot of times, she can’t always get what she wants. The environment she grew up in affected her personality greatly. Once you’re used to it, it’s natural to follow that path. It’s not something that can be changed just because you want to.
She just wonders if this makes the people around her too overwhelmed. If that’s the case, then she needs to change her lifestyle habits. After all, it’s not like the future where people become indifferent, so detached that neighbors might only meet once a year.
