Chapter 1975 - 1969: Nangong Beiying Has Left
Chapter 1975: Chapter 1969: Nangong Beiying Has Left
"Did she not leave a single word behind?" Qin Xue felt a bit anxious. This was indeed something Nangong Beiying would do; she had done it before. She just thought that, in this life, she would have changed this habit, but apparently, she hadn’t.
"No." Nangong Kunpeng shook his head.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Nangong, for letting me know. We’ll be leaving now." Having received the answer she wanted, Qin Xue prepared to leave.
"Okay, don’t come here again. When Yingying returns, I’ll have someone inform you." Nangong Kunpeng looked at this face so similar to his sister’s and wondered if others would notice?
His sister had been missing for many years, but there’s no guarantee that no one would recognize her, especially the older generation. Although his sister had been missing since childhood, those with intentions could easily find flaws.
This isn’t beneficial for them, so he didn’t want Qin Xue to come here too often, as her safety was more important.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Nangong, for the trouble." Qin Xue, of course, had also thought of what Nangong Kunpeng had in mind.
"Qin Xue, what did Mr. Nangong mean by that?" Even after they left The Gongs’ household, An Hao still didn’t understand what was going on.
"Yingying left, with no set date to return—just what it means literally." Qin Xue pondered over Nangong Beiying’s reasons for doing this, but no matter how she thought, she couldn’t figure it out.
Did she not say that when she returned, she would tell Xiao Qi about her pregnancy? But she left without saying a word, which isn’t like her. Something must have happened that she doesn’t know about, so it seems she must find Xiao Qi and get to the bottom of it.
"She left just after she got back. What is this even about?" An Hao was even more irritated.
"I don’t know. Let’s go back first and talk about it later." Qin Xue noticed occasional passersby and thought this wasn’t the place to converse.
"Alright, that’s all we can do for now." An Hao kicked a stone far away in frustration.
"An Hao, are you going home or coming to my place?" Qin Xue asked An Hao while looking at the nearby house entrance.
"I’ll go to Qiqi’s place; you go home and rest. We can talk later." An Hao looked at the scorching sun and appreciated Qin Xue’s willingness to run around for her brother.
"Alright then, come over to my place for dinner later." Qin Xue also felt a bit tired and thought a rest would do her good.
"Okay." An Hao didn’t refuse and accepted Qin Xue’s invitation.
It wasn’t until An Hao pushed open the gate and went inside that Qin Xue headed home. She believed that Nangong Beiying must have her reasons for doing this. As for the anniversaries, she believed in them, but the idea that Nangong Beiying was accompanying her mother was something Qin Xue didn’t believe.
Because her mother passed away at the Nangong household, why would she go elsewhere to accompany? Plus, with an undefined return time, based on Nangong Kunpeng’s reaction, Qin Xue believed he didn’t know about Nangong Beiying’s pregnancy, so this outcome made Qin Xue feel it couldn’t be as simple as going to see Mrs. Nangong.
Qin Xue frustratedly scratched her head. Nangong Beiying was still the same, leaving as soon as she wanted, without informing anyone. Wasn’t she afraid they would worry? Every time she was told, she would say she knew, but each time she stubbornly did things her way.
This might also be related to her past job. Once she had a mission, no one could be informed, no one could know her whereabouts, and she couldn’t communicate with others, so over time, their initial worry turned into habit. But after coming here, Qin Xue seemed to have forgotten about this.
