When Qin Xue came out again, she looked different. The dress she wore highlighted her slender figure.

Gu Beihan just emerged from the other side of the bathhouse and saw Qin Xue. He hadn’t expected to see her so soon after a long time away. Why was she here alone?

Gu Beihan looked at himself and didn’t approach recklessly, as that would be rude. He thought about going back to change clothes before coming out again, but seeing Qin Xue already ready to leave, he figured she would be gone by the time he returned.

Gu Beihan didn’t go back but just stood aside, watching Qin Xue. His gaze was intense and carried a certain level of intrusiveness.

Qin Xue was very perceptive. She turned her head to find the source of the unsettling gaze and saw Gu Beihan. Why was this man looking at her like that?

But Qin Xue only glanced at him; once she saw who it was, she didn’t react further. After settling the bill, she didn’t look back at Gu Beihan again and walked away directly.

"This woman doesn’t even give me a glance. If it were someone else, they’d probably have thrown themselves at me long ago." Gu Beihan watched Qin Xue walk away. The more she acted like this, the more intrigued he became by her. He really wanted to peel away her layers to see how her heart was constructed, why it was so different from others.

"Beihan, what are you looking at?" Ying had changed and come out, seeing Gu Beihan staring blankly outside the door. She followed his gaze, but there was nothing there. What had he seen that entranced him so much, was he bewitched?

"Nothing, are you ready?" Gu Beihan looked at Ying, realizing he had spaced out for quite a while.

"Yeah, what about you?" Ying looked at Gu Beihan. His physique was excellent, well-toned with muscles that didn’t appear unsightly but, instead, had a great shape. This was the effect of regular exercise, a stark contrast to those who didn’t work out.

"I’m going to change clothes." Gu Beihan had finished washing but had seen Qin Xue while preparing to change.

"Alright, I’ll wait for you outside." Ying didn’t say she would wait here. The bathhouse was for both men and women, just separated on different sides, which was why they came here together. But standing here was inconvenient, not just for Gu Beihan, but for others as well. It was impolite.

So, Ying was embarrassed to stand here any longer and went outside to wait, where there was a place for waiting.

"Okay." Gu Beihan didn’t say no. Ying had helped him a lot, and he regarded her like a sister, closer even than his own sister.

Because Ying and he were like siblings, whether at work or in life, she was family to him.

The many years they had known each other made them more intimate than others, but Gu Beihan never thought about why Ying helped him so much, nor did he consider that Ying’s feelings for him differed from his feelings for her.
