Chapter 2626: Saved The Victims
Chapter 2626: Chapter 2626: Saved The Victims
Long Hui was beside her in second. He was holding a massive pair of tactical bolt cutters in his hand.
With two powerful snaps, the heavy locks on the container shattered instantly.
The doors swung open. Under the harsh beam of tactical lights, Yu Qi and Long Hui saw fifteen young women huddled tightly together, their eyes wide with a mixture of terror and fragile hope.
Their legs were chained together. All of them looked malnourished and exhausted. When the light reached them, they instinctively lifted their heads, trying desperately to see who had come.
The moment they saw Yu Qi in tactical gear, their fear began to crumble, breaking into choked sobs of relief.
"You are safe now." Yu Qi said softly, all the coldness in her voice gone. "The military is here. We are taking you out."
Tears streamed down their faces. They had never truly believed they would be rescued. Their hope had nearly vanished, leaving them in despair. They were glad that heaven did not abandon them.
Medical personnel from the special unit rushed in immediately to attend to the victims. Some of them bore visible wounds, clear signs that they had struggled desperately for their freedom.
Nearby, soldiers forced open another crate and discovered yet another group of captives inside.
Long Hui quickly issued further orders, instructing the soldiers to open every single crate and conduct a thorough search. He did not want to risk leaving anyone trapped inside.
The soldiers moved without hesitation, executing his command with precision. One by one, the crates were opened.
Long Hui’s caution proved justified. Out of the thirty crates present, fifteen contained people.
Every single victim was rescued and promptly given medical attention by the unit’s personnel.
While medical personnel from the special unit rushed in to treat the victims, Long Hui and the team located the manager’s office. Inside, the warehouse supervisor was frantically attempting to shred documents.
Long Hui grabbed him by the collar and slammed him hard against the wall. The shredder hummed loudly beside them, chewing through papers.
"Sheng Logistics CEO, Qin Shen. Where is he?" Long Hui demanded.
"I—I don’t know! He just told us to clear everything!" The manager stammered, his face pale with fear.
"He knew this was coming, which means he has an escape route. Where is it?" Long Hui pressed, tightening his grip around the man’s throat.
"The port!" The manager gasped desperately. "Private dock 5. He has a yacht waiting for him."
Long Hui released him, letting him collapse to the floor.
"Take him into custody." Long Hui ordered.
A soldier rushed forward and swiftly handcuffed the manager.
Long Hui left the office and returned to Yu Qi, who was assisting the medical team in escorting the rescued women out. Her work here was done, but the head of the snake was still slipping away.
"They are going for the port." Long Hui stated.
Yu Qi handed a blanket to a young girl before turning to him.
"Then let’s go fishing for the snake." Yu Qi said, her eyes flashing with a cold, dangerous light.
Long Hui called over several soldiers and ordered them to follow. Without delay, they headed toward the private port mentioned by the manager.
Private Port 5 was a stark contrast to the rest of the port. It was a secluded, high-security pier lined with polished mahogany and gleaming white fibreglass.
Rain began to fall.
It quickly turned into a heavy downpour, lashing violently against the windshield of Long Hui’s black SUV as it drifted silently to a stop behind a row of shipping containers overlooking the dock.
Through the downpour, the silhouette of a 150-foot mega-yacht, the Sheng Empress, loomed against the dark water. Its engines were already humming, a low-frequency vibration that rattled the nearby pilings.
"He is cutting the line." Long Hui noted with a sharp voice. "If he hits open water, we lose jurisdiction. He will head for international waters within the hour."
Yu Qi did not wait for a further plan. She knew that in a pursuit like this, momentum was everything.
"I will take the stern. You and your team take the gangway. We can’t let them pull that ramp up." Yu Qi stated decisively.
Long Hui wanted to stop her, but seeing the determination in her eyes, he knew she already had a plan.
"Be careful." Long Hui nodded.
Yu Qi returned the nod before slipping out of the vehicle, moving like a shadow through the rain.
The soldier who followed Long Hui’s vehicle did not see Yu Qi getting out of the vehicle at all.
"Rukh, come out." Yu Qi called out her contracted beast.
Rukh appeared in front of Yu Qi in his human form.
"What is it?" Rukh asked.
"Help me destroy that yacht’s propeller." Yu Qi said, pointing toward the vessel.
Rukh glanced over at the yacht.
"How big?" Rukh asked.
"Enough to make them to not be able to escape." Yu Qi said.
"Sure." Rukh nodded.
He immediately transformed into his beast form and soared toward the yacht. The people aboard were too preoccupied to notice anything unusual.
Rukh dived into the water.
The impact caused the yacht to shake violently, throwing several people off their feet.
"What is going on?" Qin Shen shouted.
Everyone did not know what was going on. So, no one gave him the answer.
Rukh spotted the propeller. With his powerful beak, he crushed and tore through it, rendering it useless. His task complete, he informed Yu Qi through telepathy.
A faint smile appeared on Yu Qi’s lips. As she reached the edge of the concrete pier, she saw Qin Shen, the CEO of Sheng Logistics. He stood on the aft deck, frantically gesturing to his security detail.
