Chapter 2627: Arrest The Leader

Chapter 2627: Chapter 2627: Arrest The Leader

He was a man who had built an empire on the suffering of others, now reduced to a panicked animal looking for an exit.

"Cast off! Now!" Qin Shen screamed.

However, the yacht remained in the same place, unmoving as if it had been anchored by an invisible force.

"What are you doing? Hurry up and leave this place!" Qin Shen shouted again, his voice filled with rising panic and urgency.

Yu Qi took a three-step sprint and launched herself across the churning black water. She landed silently on the teak swim platform at the stern, her boots gripping the wet wood instantly.

A guard at the stern railing spotted her and immediately reached for his sidearm. Yu Qi moved like a whip, sweeping his legs out from under him before he could even clear his holster. As he fell, she struck a nerve cluster in his shoulder, rendering his arm completely useless.

"Colonel Long, I am on board!" Yu Qi reported through her comms.

Qin Shen and his team saw the signal. Long Hui’s team had already breached the main gate, their tactical lights flashing in coordinated response.

"Freeze! Military!" Long Hui’s voice boomed over a megaphone, echoing off the surrounding hulls.

Qin Shen retreated toward the bridge, protected by three heavily armed mercenaries.

"Kill them! Get this boat moving!" Qin Shen shouted again in desperation, his composure completely gone.

’Rukh, push the yacht to the port side.’ Yu Qi commanded silently.

Rukh swung his wings. His wings created a strong wind, causing the yacht to lurch violently to the port side.

The sudden shift threw Qin Shen and his guards off balance. It was the opening Long Hui needed.

Long Hui and several soldiers leapt from the moving vehicle onto the yacht.

Yu Qi stepped out from the shadows of the aft deck, her presence calm yet commanding.

"It’s over, Qin Shen. You should surrender." Yu Qi stared at Qin Shen.

Qin Shen stared back at the woman. He knew this woman. She was the one who tried to destroy his business.

The mercenaries raised their weapons at her, but hesitation flickered in their eyes. They could clearly see the red laser dots from Long Hui’s snipers dancing across their chests, a silent warning of death.

Long Hui stepped closer and stood beside Yu Qi. Their presence formed an unbreakable wall.

Qin Shen clenched his teeth as he glared at them.

"You think this stops with me?" Qin Shen hissed, though his hands trembled as he slowly raised them in surrender.

"No." Yu Qi said. Her voice was steady yet chilling. "It starts with you. We are going to peel back every layer of Sheng Logistics until there’s nothing left but the truth."

Long Hui stepped forward the clicking the heavy metal handcuffs onto Qin Shen’s wrists.

"Take him. Secure the bridge. I want every logbook and hard drive on this vessel." Long Hui gave the order to his subordinates.

One by one, the mercenaries hired by Qin Shen lowered their weapons and surrendered. They were merely hired guns. They would not sacrifice their lives for Qin Shen. At most, they would likely face fines or lighter punishment compared to him.

The police and military investigators swarmed the yacht, the rhythmic blue and red lights reflected off the wet docks, turning the rain-slicked concrete into a mosaic of neon.

Yu Qi stood by the ambulance bay at the edge of the pier. She had been offered a thermal blanket twice, but she refused it. Her mind was still cataloguing the faces of the women they had pulled from the crates.

"Qi Qi." Long Hui called out.

Long Hui’s voice was soft, a sharp contrast to the commanding tone he had used to dismantle Qin Shen’s security detail minutes prior. He draped his own dry jacket over her shoulders, his hands lingering on her arms to pull her close.

"It’s done. The harbour is locked down, and the evidence recovered from the yacht’s server is more than enough to dismantle the entire logistics network." Long Hui said.

Yu Qi leaned into him, resting her head against his chest.

"I still don’t understand what they were thinking when they sold human beings." Yu Qi said quietly.

"You don’t have to understand something like that." Long Hui replied.

"Yeah." Yu Qi nodded.

"They will face the consequences." Long Hui promised.

Long Hui glanced at the watch on his wrist.

"Do you need some rest? You have a shift at the hospital in five hours?" Long Hui asked.

"Yeah... I will take a nap on the way. Lucky me, I have a night shift." Yu Qi said.

"Alright." Long Hui responded.

Everything here was under control. Long Hui gave a few instructions to Ren Qian Yi, who would be more than capable of handling the situation.

Yu Qi had already gone to the vehicle and was waiting for him. Once Long Hui finished handling the remaining matters, he entered the vehicle as well.

"Everything is good?" Yu Qi asked.

"Yeah. Fourth Brother will handle the rest. You... sleep. I will wake you up when we arrive." Long Hui said.

"Fine... Fine..." Yu Qi nodded.

She lowered her seat back. After getting comfortable in her position, she closed her eyes. She fell asleep very quickly. Whenever she was with Long Hui, it showed how safe and comfortable she felt around him

The hospital was bustling with people seeking treatment. Even though Tang Private Hospital was a private institution with relatively expensive fees, many people still came because they trusted the hospital’s reputation and prestige.

Yu Qi walked toward the surgical department. She noticed a group of nurses whispering near the station. When they saw her, the chatter stopped instantly. Nurse Shin Teng stepped forward, holding a tablet.
