Hearing her voice, Tang Bo Lin instantly lifted his head from the pages and looked toward the door. His dark eyes immediately lit up with pure joy the moment he recognised Yu Qi. He carefully placed a neat bookmark between the pages, closed the heavy book, and stood up from his chair before walking over to her with precise, polite steps.

“Sister Qi.” Tang Bo Lin called out, his voice full of warmth.

Yu Qi bent down and scooped the little boy up into her arms, noting how much he was growing. “What are you reading so intently today?”

“A textbook about the nervous system in the human body.” Tang Bo Lin replied matter-of-factly.

“Do you actually understand it?” Yu Qi asked, genuinely impressed by his advanced choice of reading material.

“Yeah, mostly.” Tang Bo Lin stated confidently. “But there are still a few complex concepts that I don’t fully get. I have marked them down with sticky notes, and I plan to ask Grandpa to explain them to me later tonight.”

“That’s exactly the right way to learn. If you don’t understand something, never force yourself to just guess or figure it out blindly. Always ask someone who already has the specialised knowledge.” Yu Qi said encouragingly, patting Tang Bo Lin’s head with her free hand.

Carrying the Tang Bo Lin in her arms, Yu Qi headed back toward the bustling dining room. As soon as she stepped through the threshold, she noticed Ding Na An already sitting comfortably at the long table. Her pregnancy bump was just beginning to subtly show beneath her loose clothing.

Even though both of them worked at the exact same hospital, they rarely ran into each other during the day because their respective departments were located on completely different floors.

“Hmm… I am doing really well.” Ding Na An nodded, offering a gentle smile.

“How are you managing with the morning sickness? Is it getting any better?” Yu Qi inquired with a doctor’s natural concern.

“It’s manageable now.” Ding Na An smiled softly, glancing toward the kitchen. “Your brother has been incredibly attentive and has been helping me a lot through the rough mornings.”

“Well, he absolutely should! It is his baby too, after all.” Auntie Ming Yue immediately chimed in as she walked into the room carrying a large dish, her voice full of maternal authority.

The entire room burst into soft, collective laughter at the lively remark.

Soon, everyone took their respective seats around the grand dining table. The family began eating the delicious dinner together, passing dishes around while happily chatting about the mundane details of their daily lives, creating a wonderfully warm, vibrant, and loving atmosphere throughout the entire room.

By the following day, Yu Qi and Long Hui had crossed the border and successfully arrived in Continent M.

Without wasting a single second, they hailed a local taxi and instructed the driver to head straight to the luxury hotel where Tang Qin Hao was scheduled to stay. Coincidentally, the high-end establishment was the exact same venue hosting the international medical conference itself.

Upon arrival, Yu Qi and Long Hui casually strolled into the grand, opulent hotel lobby and walked over to the marble reception counter.

The receptionist on duty looked the couple up and down several times, her gaze lingering on their deliberately ordinary appearances, practical haircuts, and incredibly modest clothing. Based entirely on their unassuming looks, she immediately assumed they were completely out of their depth and could never possibly afford the premium rates of such an establishment. As a result, a subtle layer of condescension crept into her posture.

“Good afternoon. Do you happen to have any available rooms left for the week?” Yu Qi asked politely.

The receptionist offered a tight, professional smile that did not hide the faint trace of superiority in her eyes.

“I am afraid that because of the international medical conference currently being hosted at our hotel, we no longer have any standard or affordable rooms available.” The receptionist explained, her tone dripping with veiled judgment. “The only accommodation we still have open is our premier Presidential Suite, and I honestly don’t think it would fit your particular budget. You may want to look for some of the modest, budget-friendly motels down the street instead. You would probably find those much more suitable for your needs.”

Yu Qi remained perfectly calm and silent, entirely unbothered by the woman’s superficial attitude.
