“Because my companion and I witnessed the entire abduction unfold with our own eyes.” Yu Qi lied smoothly, her face a perfect mask of civilian innocence.
“You witnessed it directly?” The detective asked, surprised by their luck.
“Yeah… We were sitting inside our parked car in the lower basement parking lot when it occurred. Several men dressed in tactical black suits suddenly approached a young man who had just stepped out of the private elevator. They aggressively surrounded him before forcing him toward a black SUV with tinted windows.” Yu Qi nodded calmly, spinning her cover story flawlessly. She paused briefly, letting the detail sink in before continuing. “At first, we thought they were simply a private security detail accompanying a VIP. However, after watching their aggressive body language more carefully, it became completely obvious that they were forcing him into the vehicle entirely against his will.”
“So you made the choice to follow them out of the city?” The detective pressed.
“Yes.” Yu Qi nodded, her tone matter-of-fact. “We became highly suspicious of the criminal activity, so we secretly tailed their vehicle from a safe distance. Eventually, they drove deep into the countryside to an isolated, abandoned house located entirely in the middle of nowhere.”
