Chapter 1074: Severing Ties
Chapter 1074: Chapter 1074: Severing Ties
Qi Yan and the other two glanced at Mom, noting her helpless expression.
"Mom, are the wild boars about to be released?" Qi Hong asked.
"Yes, let them out."
The two wild boars were fully grown, weighing hundreds of pounds each. Tan Shaoting squatted down to tie a rope around one, holding it himself while handing the other to the three children; it wouldn’t take long anyway.
After a few minutes, both parties met.
Su Yuanyuan looked at Su Liangliang, "Speak, what do you want?"
Su Liangliang hesitated for a moment, "Nothing, I just came up the mountain to take a look."
The father and his four children could tell he was lying by his tense demeanor.
"Su Liangliang, I’m giving you a chance, whatever condition you have, I can satisfy it this once. But there won’t be another chance in the future."
Su Yuanyuan had thought it through. They were connected by blood; though she didn’t agree, it was the truth.
It’s not about forgiveness, but about not wanting to bear any burden; solving it with a condition was also for the best.
Su Liangliang bowed his head, truly hurt. He hadn’t thought about wanting anything.
The last time she returned, he was very unbalanced, wondering why she could help others but ignored him?
Years had passed, and he had come to terms with it. Yet suddenly, she asked him this.
Su Yuanyuan furrowed her brows; what’s the hold-up?
"Speak, what do you want? Back then, I used this house and offered to work at the farm as a condition to sever ties with them.
Today, I’m also giving you a condition. You have five minutes. There won’t be another chance."
Su Liangliang gripped the knife handle tightly. He knew that this was the result of him coming to the mountain to find them, giving her the idea. He should seize the opportunity to propose a condition.
Su Yuanyuan irritably glanced at her watch, waiting for Su Liangliang’s decision.
"I want a formal job in the city, a decent one."
"Alright. Wait for it; someone will come to notify you."
After saying this, Su Yuanyuan walked downhill. Su Liangliang had already seen the two large wild boars, sighed inwardly, and ran down the mountain, heading straight to Yang Hongwen’s home to ask him to find people. Watching the man and child struggling with the boars was evidently quite challenging.
Tan Shaoting understood his wife’s intentions. Actually, there was nothing bad about it. Cutting ties meant no entanglements.
"Mom, that person is really ugly; good thing we didn’t end up looking like that," Qi Wen complained.
Su Yuanyuan was surprised by her daughter’s words, turned to look at the three children, and then breathed a sigh of relief, "Luckily not."
Tan Shaoting protested, "How could my daughter and son possibly end up looking like that? You’re overthinking."
Wang Cuihong was also concerned about her husband, holding the child outside the door, watching him run down quickly.
She was startled, "What’s wrong?"
"Nothing, nothing. It turns out they caught the wild boars; I’m going to find people to help."
Wang Cuihong finally relaxed, though she felt a bit envious; what kind of luck was that?
She continued holding the child outside, wanting to see the wild boars.
Fifteen minutes later, the family of five was seen dragging the dark wild boars down the mountain.
Wang Cuihong curiously watched. Wild boars were huge like that? Despite their frail look, they seemed strong?
Su Yuanyuan’s family also noticed Wang Cuihong and the child in her arms.
The three siblings glanced, seeing that the child somewhat resembled them, quite relieved; if truly that ugly, they’d have nightmares.
Su Yuanyuan didn’t pay attention to Wang Cuihong and continued walking with her family.
Su Liangliang went directly to Yang Hongwen’s house. He saw the father and his three children busy slaughtering chickens.
"Uncle, Su Yuanyuan’s family caught two wild boars, dragging them down the mountain themselves."
Yang Hongwen stood up, "Xiubo, you three head over immediately; I’ll find a few more people."
The three brothers obediently got up and ran out, with Su Liangliang following behind.
Yang Hongwen then found ten more people and went to get a vehicle.
When they reached the mountain’s foot, the family paused; soon enough, people would come. Though they could drag them, it was quite exhausting.
The three Yang brothers arrived within ten minutes.
"Yuanyuan." Actually, their relationship with Su Yuanyuan was merely average.
"Big brother, second brother, third brother."
"Yuanyuan, such big wild boars, you dragged them down yourselves?" Yang Xiushan asked incredulously.
"Dragging them downhill wasn’t too difficult."
"My dad’s looking for people; they should be arriving soon."
Su Liangliang just stood aside; he had known long ago that only Yang Hongwen and Yang Minggang’s families had been kind to Su Yuanyuan in the village, so she was willing to look after them.
The three brothers marveled at the two massive wild boars, amazed; it was quite impressive that they managed to catch such large creatures.
Yang Xiubo and Tan Shaoting made small talk; they were deeply grateful to Su Yuanyuan for helping them secure formal jobs, ensuring stable family income, and with wages and benefits, their children could even inherit jobs—such good fortune.
Another fifteen minutes passed, with ten more people arriving, while Yang Hongwen was still catching up with the vehicle.
Everyone stared at the large wild boars in astonishment; they were massive.
"Yuanyuan, you really caught these?"
"Just dragged them; it’s easier downhill."
"Stop gawking, load them up.
Yuanyuan, what do we do with the wild boars?"
"Uncle, our family doesn’t have any opinions; you decide."
Yang Hongwen thought for a while, "How about this: once we return, we’ll find people to butcher them and distribute the meat among everyone equally, adults and children alike."
"Alright, Uncle, your decision is fine." Su Yuanyuan had considered it; giving everything to Hu Chunhua’s family wouldn’t be good—it’d be best to distribute it fairly.
"Uncle, our family doesn’t need to be here; we’ll head back."
"Alright, hurry back, you’ve already worked hard."
The family walked the road back home, with the remaining work needing no help from them.
On the way, they encountered Shubao and two children waiting by the roadside.
As soon as the two children saw the family, they ran over, "Aunt, you’re back?"
"Yes, sitting here makes you cold."
"Aunt, did you hunt wild boar? I saw Grandpa rushing over with a cart."
The two had intended to follow and watch, but they remembered promising their aunt not to go up the mountain, so they waited here instead.
Su Yuanyuan smiled and patted Shubao’s shoulder. "Very good; Aunt hopes you always maintain this trustworthy and kind character. Shubao is such a good child."
