Chapter 1113: Arrangements
Chapter 1113: Chapter 1113: Arrangements
Since the decision was made, on Monday morning, Qi Yan and Qi Hong, the two brothers, left.
Qi Wen, along with Lawyer Zhang and Lawyer Liu, studied the case together.
In Qi Wen’s view, this was just a matter of mutual squabbling. However, she was determined not to let them have their way.
Lawyer Zhang and the others were discussing work with Qi Wen. Listening to the young woman’s soft and tender voice, their hearts inexplicably settled down.
Qi Wen was called over to have lunch with Xu Guozhi and others at noon.
To be honest, Qi Wen really didn’t want to be with this group. She felt no appetite.
He Yuanhao looked at this delicate young girl, thinking she looked so much like her mother. Moreover, she seemed even more outstanding.
"Qi Wen, are you confident?" Lu Chengmin asked with a smile.
"Mr. Lu, actually, there is no difficulty in this case. With their grand spectacle, I feel they must have prepared something, so there should be some discrepancies during the verdict."
Everyone listened to the young woman’s words with great satisfaction; no wonder she was able to obtain the qualification certificate.
This was the first time the young woman went so far on her own.
The couple couldn’t help worrying. But seeing their daughter’s carefree demeanor, they didn’t show it.
Seeing their daughter off, the couple felt uneasy. Worried. This time Chengzi went along as well.
Ning Huaiyuan reported during the lunch break.
"Alright, I got it."
Now it was just the couple, making travel much easier.
They arrived at Yang Chunsheng’s home, "Is there something urgent at Brother Chunsheng’s home?"
Yang Chunsheng nodded, "Yuanyuan, we have two hours before the train. Uncle, the village head, is critical."
Su Yuanyuan was stunned. "We were fine when we went back for New Year this year, weren’t we?"
"The call from home didn’t clarify, just said that Uncle had a sudden illness. He is still in a coma."
Su Yuanyuan furrowed her brow, but understood that birth, aging, illness, and death are natural occurrences.
"Alright. I’ll arrange for the Secretary to go over; the two of us really can’t leave."
"Okay, I know you’re busy."
"When you go back, take Aunt and the others for a check-up too."
"I’ve said it several times already. If it doesn’t work out this time, I’ll bring them over here for a check-up."
"Alright. I’ll have Secretary Wang arrange it. Who’s going back this time?"
"I’m taking Zong Wei back. Your sister-in-law couldn’t take leave. Also, the child is too young."
"Then you wait at home, Secretary Wang will drive over to pick you two up."
Su Yuanyuan returned and called Wang Jianchuan for arrangements.
The couple entered the space. Su Yuanyuan felt down.
To her, Yang Hongwen was a righteous man who greatly assisted her.
When she wanted to end her life, he plunged into freezing water to save her.
The wild boar was also bought with his help, and he helped disguise in the village.
Even when Su Daqiang and the others returned, he openly supported her.
Though he had private intentions, his care for her was genuine.
Now knowing he was dying, Su Yuanyuan felt sad.
Tan Shaoting held her, offering warmth.
"Back then, I was reckless, and my reputation was widely known. Yang Hongwen was really good to me."
"Yuanyuan, that’s how the world is. No one escapes birth, aging, illness, and death."
"I know, but after hearing the news, past events have become more vivid in my mind."
Tan Shaoting had also felt this sadness during missions when he saw people die in front of him, but perhaps not as intensely as his wife.
"Tan Shaoting, what is the purpose of living in this world?"
"You’re overthinking."
Su Yuanyuan continued, "Life cycles repeat, so isn’t death inevitable?"
Tan Shaoting didn’t know how to respond to such a question. Living here, he knew he should believe in science, yet he truly believed in predestination.
Suddenly, he was filled with fear, pondering their own fate. How many more years would they live?
Su Yuanyuan didn’t wait for Tan Shaoting’s response, and curiously glanced at him, "What’s wrong?"
"Yuanyuan, how long do you think we can be together?"
Su Yuanyuan was also stunned. Then she laughed, "You think too much. Live as long as we can. Haven’t you come to terms with it yet?"
"Yuanyuan, I’m not afraid of life or death, just losing you, separating from you. I don’t want to leave you."
"I also hope we can be together."
Tan Shaoting furrowed his brow, thinking when Qi Wen comes back, he must approach Gu Ersheng about how they can stay together for eternity.
Su Yuanyuan, distracted by Tan Shaoting, wasn’t as sad anymore.
As for Wang Jianchuan, he mainly handled the leader’s private affairs, though there were rarely such matters.
He picked up Father and Son Yang Chunsheng. With a driver, he could swap driving, expecting to arrive by noon tomorrow.
Zong Wei was riding a car for the first time; both father and son were somewhat dizzy, yet understood the urgency, thus didn’t mention it.
Past ten the next day, they arrived at the village; a mourning tent was already set up at Yang Hongwen’s house.
The car drove directly to Yang Hongwen’s door.
The villagers assumed the most capable Su Yuanyuan had returned.
But Yang Chunsheng and two formidable-looking leaders got off the car.
Hu Chunhua felt relieved seeing her youngest son back, fearing he wouldn’t make it in time.
"Chunsheng, go in yourself. Zong Wei, stay with me and see your Uncle one last time."
Yang Chunsheng nodded. "Mom, this is Yuanyuan’s Secretary Wang."
Though Wang Jianchuan hadn’t met Hu Chunhua, he knew of her and respectfully greeted her.
"Since Secretary Wang is here, you should go inside together, probably have some messages for Yuanyuan."
Yang Chunsheng and the Secretary entered; Yang Family’s three sons were there accompanying; daughters-in-law were with their mother-in-law.
Seeing Yang Chunsheng return with a stranger.
"Chunsheng’s back? Uncle doesn’t recognize anyone now."
Yang Chunsheng nodded, sitting on the kang edge, "Uncle, it’s Chunsheng. I’m back. Yuanyuan couldn’t make it, so her secretary came to see you."
Xu Chunjiao was wiping tears aside; just last night Uncle had dinner well. At midnight, he felt unwell; she served him water, and soon he collapsed.
At midnight, she called her son, they went to the county hospital, and were told it was hopeless; ultimately, they brought him home.
It was the third day already, and he hadn’t opened his eyes.
Zhang Chunsheng looked at the comatose Yang Hongwen, recalling his goodness. As village head for years, he genuinely cared and was active.
