Chapter 1291: Daily Life
Chapter 1291: Chapter 1291: Daily Life
In the evening the whole family made plans to go eat seafood; the seafood here is really quite famous.
Qi Wen is pretty fond of seafood, and the two little ones also ate a bit and liked it too.
"Do you guys want to leave here?"
The three of them were all surprised. "Mom, you’re not going to stay here a bit longer? There are still three months left, you know?"
Su Yuanyuan smiled. "I’m fine either way. There’s nothing here I can’t let go of. It’s fine if we leave."
She always felt that it wasn’t easy to come out this once, so she wanted the kids to walk around and see more.
Qi Wen shook her head. "Mom, let’s live here for a while. It’s been like this the whole way anyway. Besides, these two really like being with other kids, you should send them to kindergarten."
Su Yuanyuan honestly hadn’t thought about that. After hearing her young woman say it, she felt it was doable.
"Sure, I’ll go rent a place tomorrow."
Buying a house wasn’t realistic, and there was no need.
The next day the couple went out; the five kids went out to play as usual.
Qi Wen had actually noticed that Big Brother and Second Brother also liked to play. That was pretty good, the five siblings together.
They directly rented a place for two months. The rent was a bit higher than for a long-term lease. Nothing to be done about that. It was understandable.
They rented a standalone villa in the local rich neighborhood; it was quite roomy for the whole family to live in.
After they finished all the procedures in the morning, they went to enroll the two little ones in the kindergarten inside the community.
Su Yuanyuan wasn’t willing to lie, so she told them plainly they’d only be going for two months.
Once everything was arranged over there, the two of them went back home to pack up.
When Qi Wen and the others came back in the evening and saw the neighborhood environment, they were quite satisfied.
They had originally thought, since the two little ones liked other kids, they’d send them to kindergarten.
In the morning when they dropped them off, the two went in happily. Near noon, the couple used their Divine Sense to check on them and found both of them pouting. So they were unhappy?
Su Yuanyuan laughed. Because of their age, they could only go into the youngest class.
The little kids in there still cried for their families. She figured the two were just mad at those kids for crying.
"Want to go pick them up?" Tan Shaoting doted on the kids way too much.
Su Yuanyuan shook her head. "Let them get used to it. They’ll have to go through it sooner or later."
Tan Shaoting didn’t say anything else. In fact, he really couldn’t bear to see the kids wronged.
But he also knew that while he could protect them now, what about later? What would happen when he was helpless?
So he kept his Divine Sense on the two children the whole time and gradually discovered they had a bit of a problem: they wouldn’t play with the other kids, just sat quietly in a corner playing with toys.
Su Yuanyuan knew Tan Shaoting was watching them, so she didn’t bother with it and just went online to watch dramas.
That evening, when Tan Shaoting went to pick the two kids up, no one knew what he’d said to his sons, but when they came back they were all smiles.
Su Yuanyuan pretended not to know; there was nothing bad about letting them get used to it early.
Dinner was ready, but the three big ones still hadn’t come back. Tan Shaoting was worried and called them.
"Dad, we’re at the gate of the community."
Only then did Tan Shaoting relax. Su Yuanyuan teased him, "What are you going to do when we get to the Cultivation World and don’t have phones?"
"There are Sound Transmission Talismans."
Su Yuanyuan choked on that. True, she had seen Sound Transmission Talismans in the Talisman Collection.
Suddenly she thought of something: she couldn’t just be watching dramas, she should learn talisman painting. Even if she couldn’t paint successfully yet, she could at least learn it first. When they got there, it would be a skill to rely on. After all, once they were there, the consumption for a family of seven would be huge.
Thinking this, she told Tan Shaoting about it.
"Okay, I can paint them too, but my talent is really average."
"All right, I’ll see if I can paint them."
She’d heard from Tan Shaoting that living in the Cultivation World wasn’t much different from here: you still had to earn money.
After dinner, the whole family sat in the living room chatting.
They listened to the kids vividly recount what they’d experienced outside today.
"Mom, we went to watch kids perform today. It was pretty fun. I think they’re all quite talented."
"Kids these days learn tons of things. If you want, you can also go learn what you like.
Qi Wen, don’t you want to learn piano? Don’t all girls like instruments?"
Qi Wen thought for a bit. "Okay, I’ll go try it tomorrow. If it works out, I’ll learn it."
Qi Yan and Qi Hao wanted to go learn Sanda.
Su Yuanyuan almost wanted to laugh. "With your flexibility and strength, your teacher won’t even be your match."
"It’s fine to just go get some experience."
"Yeah, I really don’t like playing piano."
Su Yuanyuan nodded. She had no objections; her two sons were steady and knew their limits.
That night, after the two little ones fell asleep, Su Yuanyuan took out the Talisman Collection and started from the simplest ones.
Tan Shaoting sat beside her explaining and demonstrating.
"Right now you don’t have to do it all in one stroke, but once you use Spiritual Power, you mustn’t lift your brush. Otherwise it’s just a waste.
Practice first. I’ve got talisman paper, vermillion, and Beast Blood here. You can go into the space to practice."
Su Yuanyuan nodded and sat up very straight, drawing on the paper. It was actually quite complicated, and this was only the simplest one in the Talisman Collection.
She wasn’t the type to give up easily. Since she’d made up her mind, she was going to put her heart into it.
Two hours later, she finally managed to draw it smoothly.
"What do you think?"
"Not bad. Let’s go into the space and try it. Maybe my wife really is a talisman prodigy."
Su Yuanyuan laughed. "I hope so too. Once we’re there, having a skill means we can make a living."
Tan Shaoting felt a bit ashamed. "All I can do is practice sword. When we go back in the future, I’ll go hunting to earn Spirit Stones."
"You’re overthinking it. Isn’t our main task Cultivation?
Your cultivation is high, but when it comes to Spirit Roots, us four—me and the kids—have a big advantage over you.
If you want our family to stay together for a long, long time, you have to work hard. Only if you’re strong can you protect us."
Tan Shaoting held his wife in his arms, full of emotion. "Yeah. I have to become strong."
They brought the two little ones into the space as well.
Su Yuanyuan really did have talent in talisman painting. She actually succeeded on her first try. Holding the Cleaning Talisman in her hand, she smiled so happily.
Tan Shaoting smiled with great pride. His wife was just that amazing; what could possibly stump her?
People are like this: when something is new, they get really into it. So Su Yuanyuan didn’t sleep and kept drawing.
She drew ten talismans in a row before she started to feel unwell and finally stopped. She hadn’t failed even once.
Tan Shaoting had been watching from the side the whole time. "My wife really is a talisman prodigy."
Su Yuanyuan laughed. "This counts as being a prodigy?"
"You’ll understand when you get to the Cultivation World. It took me five days to learn the Cleaning Talisman, and I wasn’t even the slowest back then."
"Really? Then I definitely have to hurry up and study."
