Chapter 1303: Epiphany
Chapter 1303: Chapter 1303: Epiphany
Now their whole family was living here, waiting for the Sect’s new disciple recruitment.
Yuanyuan might not get used to it at first, so he was thinking that the two of them should bring the two little ones into Xuantian Sect together.
That would also give his wife time to adjust. Yuanyuan’s bone age was only thirty, and she was already at the Foundation Establishment Stage; of course the Sect would welcome someone like that.
Neither of them had any ambition; they honestly didn’t care whether they could enter the Sect core or not. As long as they could live a stable life and cultivate, that would be enough.
Watching his wife speed through the books, he felt that after she arrived in the Cultivation World and reached Foundation Establishment, her looks had changed again. Even though there were no ugly people in the Cultivation World, his wife’s beauty was the kind that made people not dare have any profane thoughts.
How to put it? Sacred? Yes, sacred. It made people involuntarily feel a kind of reverence toward her.
Su Yuanyuan finished all the books and closed her eyes to sort through all the information in her mind.
To put it bluntly, there wasn’t much to it. She felt that right now she wasn’t any different from the natives here.
After settling herself over these past few days, she had calmed down. Life here wasn’t as terrifying as she’d imagined at the beginning.
There was nothing that couldn’t be solved. Whatever they ran into, they’d deal with it.
Once she thought it through, everything suddenly became clear.
Tan Shaoting was the first to notice the change in his wife. This was an epiphany, so he hurriedly beckoned Qi Hao and Qi Xuan over, and had the three older ones start cultivating right away; this was a rare opportunity.
His face was all smiles. His wife had figured things out. This epiphany should be important to her.
Su Yuanyuan’s epiphany lasted a full day and night before it ended. When she opened her eyes, she saw the man beside her and the five children.
She smiled at them. What was there to it, really? What was there to be afraid of? As long as their family was together, what couldn’t they get through?
Qi Yan and his siblings had all gained a lot from it. Qi Wen hugged Mom’s arm with a big grin. "Now it’s all good. My mom is the strongest again."
"I made you all worry. I’ve figured it out."
Qi Hao and Qi Xuan hurriedly ran over and sat on Mom’s legs, lifting their faces to look at her.
This time they’d stayed in the space for half a month. After the whole family came out, they wanted to relax a bit.
Su Yuanyuan adjusted her cultivation, suppressing it back down to the Foundation Establishment First Layer. During the epiphany she’d directly advanced to Foundation Establishment Second Level. Even though it was only one layer, how many people spent their whole lives unable to take that step?
Walking down the street together, she said, "Do you think I should go out and get some training? I can’t just have cultivation but no combat strength, right?"
Qi Wen nodded after hearing that. "Mom, let’s go out and take a look around. Things should be calm here now."
Tan Shaoting also nodded. It wasn’t a bad idea; the whole family could go out and get used to things a bit.
Since the father and sons had restored their cultivation, they hadn’t actually made any moves yet.
Since they’d decided, they went to Spirit Food House to eat, and also planned to get some takeout. They didn’t know how long they’d be out.
This was the best place around to get information.
The family listened to the chatter around them while they ate. Su Yuanyuan listened even more closely.
Qi Wen had been right—those from the other sect and family forces had all left. In another half a year the secret realm could be opened, so they all had to go back and prepare.
There were also all sorts of random bits of news.
"Should we go to the mission hall and take a mission?" Qi Hong asked.
Earlier he’d heard a few people saying they were going to pick up missions in a bit.
That was how things normally worked, right? Both living and cultivating required resources, and hardly any Cultivator didn’t rack their brains over that.
Qi Wen nodded. "I think that works. We’re going out anyway."
Su Yuanyuan was thinking even further. They’d come here, and if they did nothing at all, it’d be troublesome if they drew attention.
Tan Shaoting had no objections. The children would have to leave them someday; it was normal to let them make their own decisions. He and his wife would just watch from behind in the future.
Qi Hao and Qi Xuan were eating happily. The two of them basically didn’t eat meat, yet they were still chubby and adorable.
When they were full and the packed-up Spirit Food had been brought over, Tan Shaoting paid the bill, and the family left.
As soon as they left, everyone inside Spirit Food House started discussing this family.
"I’ve never heard that we had a family like that around here."
"Must be Loose Cultivators from somewhere else. They probably also came for the qualifying matches from a while back. Wonder if they got a chance? Both of that couple should be at Foundation Establishment Stage, right?
They’re pretty strong. They look quite young, and they already have five kids."
Then the gossip really got going, and the topic shifted to which Foundation Establishment senior had taken another concubine recently, hoping to have children.
They also talked about how there were suddenly a few more children in the city. Anyway, the topic drifted off immediately.
The family left Spirit Food House and went to the mission hall, which was under the Nangong Family’s control.
Once inside, Su Yuanyuan couldn’t help sighing again in her heart. Sometimes even high-tech worlds might not be this advanced.
The three siblings went to accept missions, while the couple each held a child and checked the Foundation Establishment missions.
"What kind of mission should I pick?"
"Something simple to start with, just to get used to it."
Su Yuanyuan nodded. "That works too."
The couple happened to take a liking to the same mission: hunting a Fourth Rank porcupine.
The two of them exchanged a smile. What Su Yuanyuan needed was actual combat; she absolutely couldn’t just have cultivation with no fighting ability.
They only took one Foundation Establishment mission. After all, there were still Qi Hao and Qi Xuan. Now the two of them had to stay outside; it wasn’t particularly safe, so they wouldn’t be allowed into the space.
Qi Hao and Qi Xuan’s eyes weren’t even enough now. People were coming and going, and they loved the bustle.
Qi Yan and the other two also picked the missions they wanted. Qi Yan’s was to collect the teeth and hides of the Second-stage Demon Beast Saw-toothed Crocodile.
Qi Hong’s was to gather Spirit Fruit and Spirit Grass. He took several missions.
Qi Wen’s was also a demon beast hunting mission. She honestly hadn’t had any other missions to choose from.
Once they’d finished all the formalities at the mission counter, the family left.
Quite a few people had their eyes on this family. Some even wanted to join them, but one look at their formation and anyone could tell they were a single family. If anyone really tried to tag along, they’d probably get cleaned up by them.
Most people wouldn’t choose to join a team like this.
Cultivators were even more cautious and wary; killing to steal resources really wasn’t rare at all.
Because they had two Foundation Establishment Cultivators, no one dared to target them, though there were still a few groups that followed from a distance to watch.
Once those people learned what missions the family had taken, and knew their general destination, a few teams still followed along in that direction.
Tan Shaoting released the Flying Boat, and the family got on.
The grade of this Flying Artifact was pretty low, but Tan Shaoting hadn’t planned on changing it. If he ran into something suitable, he’d get one for his wife and each of the three older kids. He knew very well how good it was to keep a low profile; in the Cultivation World, going with the flow was the key to survival.
The whole family was in high spirits. This was their first time doing a mission together in the Cultivation World. Plus, they all knew they’d be separating in the future, so they especially cherished this time together.
