Chapter 1631: Spirit Root Testing
Chapter 1631: Chapter 1631: Spirit Root Testing
Fifteen minutes later, Qi Hao added spices, and soon a fragrant aroma wafted out.
This aroma made everyone impatient to wait, just eager to taste it right away.
One hour later, all six began to eat.
The five of them relished the food, but Qi Hao found it quite ordinary, stopping after a rabbit leg and a piece of pork.
He jumped onto a nearby tree and sat there to rest.
The eyes of the two boys sparkled as they watched him.
"Second Uncle, isn’t the hero too incredible? Is he here to compete for the position of Martial Arts Alliance Hierarch?"
The middle-aged man shook his head, "I don’t know. I feel this hero wouldn’t care for such a position."
"Dad, if we approach him as disciples, would he agree?"
The middle-aged man had thoughts too, but with his experiences, he sensed that although the hero was good to them, he remained a bit aloof.
"Dad, can we do it?"
The middle-aged man shook his head, "I don’t know, it’s probably not possible."
"Then I’ll ask the hero. Who knows? I want skills like that."
Qi Hao heard their conversation and descended shortly afterward.
They had tidied up, eagerly watching him.
"Hero, can I take you as my master?"
Qi Hao did not nod, but suddenly a stone appeared in his hand.
At this, the father and the four children were stunned. What was this? The children’s eyes shone more fervently at Qi Hao.
Could this be the Immortal in stories?
"The four of you, come and touch this stone one by one." Qi Hao waved his hand, and a table appeared here.
The four children simultaneously rubbed their hands on their clothes.
The older boy stepped forward, placing his hand on the Spirit Testing Stone, revealing a bright fiery red color. Is this the Single Fire Spirit Root?
"Fire Spirit Root, next."
The other boy came and, after placing his hand, yellow and green appeared.
"Earth and Wood Spirit Roots, next."
The girl’s hand was up next, displaying a Single Water Spirit Root?
"Water Spirit Root, next."
The youngest girl also had a Water Spirit Root, with Qi Hao observing the blue hue on the Spirit Testing Stone, believing the youngest might have a purer Water Spirit Root.
"Water Spirit Root."
Qi Hao put away the Spirit Testing Stone, looking at the eager faces of the four children.
"You all have Spirit Roots, and can cultivate. Let me tell you about cultivation."
The four children listened attentively, while the middle-aged man’s face grew more excited.
"Do you understand what I’m saying?"
All four nodded excitedly. "Immortal, can we cultivate?"
Qi Hao nodded, "You all can. Discuss with your family whether or not to cultivate. I’ve already explained clearly, cultivation is very dangerous. Mortals have reincarnation after death. Cultivators simply disintegrate after death.
Moreover, deciding to cultivate means leaving the Mortal World. Coming back might take years, or even more than a decade."
The latter words were for the middle-aged man.
The four children turned to look at the middle-aged man. Qi Hao vanished instantly.
The four children grew even more excited.
"Second Uncle, I want to cultivate."
"Dad, I want to too."
The middle-aged man nodded, "Alright, you all should go. When I was young, Immortals came to take disciples, but I didn’t have what they called Spirit Roots. Your uncle was taken by an Immortal, but we’ve heard nothing from him all these years."
The youngest girl held the middle-aged man’s hand, "Dad, I’ll work hard, I’ll come back to see you."
The middle-aged man nodded excitedly, "Good. I’ll wait for you at home."
"Yes. Second Uncle, we’ll all come back to see you."
"Fine, the Immortal already said it’s very dangerous, so you siblings must work together."
"Yes, I will definitely take care of my younger siblings."
"Good, Xiaoze, as the eldest, make sure to watch over your siblings. If they misbehave, you should discipline them. As for the three of you, listen to your older brother."
The four children all nodded, and the middle-aged man smiled. Though knowing they might be separated for life, inside he felt delighted. Perhaps the children might become Immortals one day.
"Dad, we’ll definitely work hard to cultivate. The Immortal said we might come back in just a few years."
"Yes, do your best."
The five of them sat together, aware of the impending separation, cherishing their time together.
Qi Hao returned in the evening. They seemed even more constrained now.
"Immortal, the four of us wish to follow you in cultivation."
Qi Hao nodded, "Don’t call me Immortal, you can just call me Senior.
I’m not returning to the sect just yet. You four will follow me to learn the basics before cultivating in the cultivation world.
Additionally, you may accompany us until we leave, or return later. This is my compensation for bringing them."
Qi Hao’s hand emerged with plenty of gold and silver.
The middle-aged man quickly shook his head, "Immortal, no, Senior, may I come along? I’ll return after you leave."
Qi Hao nodded, "You may."
Now the five of them were very happy, not needing to part ways just yet.
Learning their intentions, Qi Hao tossed them a book. "This is a book on basic knowledge of the cultivation world, read it, and ask me about any unfamiliar words or unclear concepts."
The five of them did not dare ask about returning. With such a curious book, they gathered to discuss it.
Qi Hao sat nearby in meditation, holding a Spirit Stone. This time, the meditation proceeded much faster.
The middle-aged man continued preparing the roast, realizing they likely wouldn’t leave the mountain. The children would need dinner come the night.
Two hours later, Qi Hao awakened, and it was late. The roast was nearly ready.
"Alright, let’s eat first." During his early days with his master, it was the same.
Qi Hao ate just a little, not out of fear for food residue, but because at his level of cultivation, he no longer had a high demand for food.
"While you eat, introduce yourselves." He still didn’t know their names.
"Senior, I’m Xie Zhenze." The oldest boy stated his name.
"Senior, I’m Xie Zhenkun." said the other boy.
"Senior, I’m Xie Yingying."
The youngest girl said, "I’m Xie Miaomiao."
"Alright, finish eating and then we’ll go down."
"Senior, there are many things we don’t understand."
Qi Hao sighed, realizing he’s taken on trouble, but with Spirit Roots this good, not bringing them back would be a waste.
The middle-aged man, hearing they’d go back, hurried to pack up. The pork needed to be brought along, for his family would need to eat too.
Qi Hao didn’t mind, the five of them each carried a portion, following Qi Hao down the mountain.
