"Mom..." I smiled lightly. "It’s fine. She is under my control, and we share the same goals. Right?"
"I guess so," the grumpy ant replied. "I aim to destroy the gods, and so does she. That is all. We work together and help each other grow stronger. Thanks to me, Sylphy has grown as powerful as she is now, and so have her weapons. Without the materials I have cultivated here, her sword, Scarlet, would never have become this strong. Her shield, Sapphire, also reached this level because Scarlet shared fragments of her own divine body as the final ingredients."
"That is amazing," my father said. "I am so excited too! This means that in the future it might actually be possible to change things, to change how this world works, to stop them from manipulating us, Faylen!"
"I know. I understand the implications," my mother nodded. "I saw the many divine spirits she is growing. Are those her children? Whatever the case, they all have the potential to grow and become gods themselves. Sylphy is truly forging her own pantheon..."
"Well, I... uh, I do not know what to say," Nepheline said, crossing her arms and nodding. "But yeah, maybe I owe you an apology, Sylphy. We really overreacted."
"...Yeah, I am sorry," Shade nodded. "I will never make the same mistake again. It was reckless of me to say all that."
"It is natural. I half-expected some reaction, to be honest, though nothing like this," I said. "You fought her and hated her, but you need to know that she really did pay for her sins. She died and remained dead for months until I revived her. Technically, she is still dead. This Armageddon is actually a copy of the original, built from my soul fragments, an extension of my divinity given physical form."
"Ugh, that makes it sound like it is not even me...!" she protested.
"Well, technically it is not you," my mother said. "You are a new being that inherited the memories of your original self. Sylphy killed you and absorbed your divine soul. After months, the traces of the original dissolved within her soul. She then divided her own soul to recreate you, reawakening your old memories inside a new living being. You may not want to admit it, but you are composed entirely of her, aside from your physical vessel."
"...?!" Armageddon gasped. "W-What?! You are saying I am like her clone?!"
"Not exactly, but you are a piece of her soul that has gained its own consciousness and been given someone else’s memories," my mother explained.
Wow. Was that really necessary? Now Armageddon was going to have an existential crisis.
"I-I... I am not me?" she muttered, clutching her head. "I..."
"Calm down. You are yourself," I said firmly. "Armageddon Aegis. That is your new name, but you are still you. You have inherited your memories and your sense of self. Is that not enough, whether you were made from someone else or not?"
She stared at me in deep silence for a long moment, clearly thinking through many things. I found myself thinking the same. Perhaps the reason I had such complete control over her actions and could freely dictate what she should or should not do was because she was literally a piece of my soul. I could shape her however I wanted.
Which was pretty insane.
"I... I need time to think about it," she sighed. "Am I free? Can I go to my room now?"
"It is fine. Go rest," I nodded. "And sorry for calling you a pet earlier. You are not a pet. We are allies. Comrades."
She looked sorrowful as she walked away without another word.
This was the first time I had seen her act so serious out of nowhere. It was genuinely shocking.
I had always thought she would react angrily, growl or hiss at me, then move on with her life as usual.
But what my mother said must have hit her hard. It forced her to rethink her entire existence, why she was even fighting or working so hard.
I felt a little bad... I should talk to her later.
"Anyway, that is the whole story," I said with a nod. "I hope you will not hit me with any more insane questions out of nowhere. I have told you everything. I have revealed the full truth."
My family and friends remained stunned by everything they had heard, but they quickly recovered.
"Well, that is amazing, right?" my father laughed. "We are kind of used to you doing crazy stuff anyway. Hahaha! But still... it is incredible. I was thinking, though, could I visit this place frequently, Sylphy? I believe it could help me develop my Divine Spark much faster, along with my Physique and Magic Circle. The air here, the whole atmosphere, it contains all my elements: Fire, Magma, Lava, Volcanic Stones, and even Metal, which resonates perfectly with my swordsmanship."
"I had no idea your secondary element was metal, Dad. I thought it was holy light?" I asked.
"Ah, you are not wrong," he smiled and nodded. "It is. I am developing a combined Divinity Aspect for Heavenly Flames, and my Divinity Spark complements it through the Divine Heavenly Blazing Blade Swordsmanship. I am turning the sword arts I learned from my family and your grandfather into something unique to myself. To further cultivate my Sword Art, I need Metal Elemental Divine Materials, which are incredibly rare even in the most ancient mountains."
I recalled the last time I had seen my father fight, almost a year ago, when he faced Allocer, that supremely powerful True Demon Archduke summoned by the Evil God of Dungeons into my dungeon. The invasion had caused chaos everywhere.
In that battle, my father had continuously evolved, using True Unification to merge his Physique, Magic Circle, and everything he had learned into a single core. There he had developed his Divinity Aspect and further mastered his Divine Heavenly Blazing Blade Arts.
It had been an incredible fight, and I had the honor of fighting side by side with him.
As his biggest fan, the techniques I witnessed that day had inspired me deeply as I developed my own abilities.
"Of course, Dad! You can come here anytime," I said. "Here, give me your hand."
"Oh?" He offered his hand. I touched it with my own and infused a special rune into his palm. "This is a special Gate Rune. Only you can use it, and it will let you teleport to this dungeon floor whenever you want."
"Ooohh! This is awesome!" he laughed. "Hahaha, thank you, my princess! With this, I can finally grow stronger and protect you and our family even better." He pulled me into a warm hug.
