Chapter 2019: Reaching The Beach
Chapter 2019: Reaching The Beach

"W-What?!" I gasped. "Oh my god, why is that even a thing? Why did you give me the meaning?!"
"I simply had it in my information database. It is something commonly used in human society," she explained. "It is surprising how it has spread across so many worlds inhabited by humans."
"Ugh..." I sighed, shaking my head. "Whatever. Anyway! Alright, shall we finally head to the damn beach already?"
"Yeah, let’s gooooo!" Lara cheered as she jumped onto my back and climbed onto my shoulders.
"Hey! Hahaha!" I laughed. "Get down from there! W-why are you flashing me your panties?!"
"Eeek! Sylphy, you perv!" she laughed, leaping away from me and running playfully before jumping off a cliff.
"Did you have to look...?" Aquarina asked, her expression slightly angry.
"D-Don’t get mad at me. I looked up and there she was. What do you want me to do?" I sighed. "Wait, why are you even angry? We have taken baths with the girls for years. We are often all naked together, Aquarina."
"...I guess you are right," she said, shaking her head. "Lara... was she trying to be funny or something?"
"She is crazy like that. Who cares," I shrugged. "Let’s go now!"
"Maybe I should start wearing skirts and dresses..." she murmured.
"A-Are you thinking about flashing me your panties now?!" I gasped. "Not everything is a competition, Aquarina..."
"I mean, wouldn’t that be cute?"
"..."
I thought about it for a moment and then nodded.
"Yeah, I think you would look really beautiful in dresses and skirts..." I said. "But your shorts are nice too."
"No, no, I do want to dress more feminine as well," she replied. "Okay, let’s go buy some dresses later."
"Ahaha? Okay? Well, alright," I shrugged. "Just let’s go already!"
I dragged her and the rest of my friends toward the beach. Our parents seemed just as happy. Shade and Nepheline relaxed noticeably more, laughing, smiling, and basking in the warm sunlight and pleasant breeze.
The rich smell of nature was overwhelming and incredibly healing. As we drew closer to the sea, the sound of waves crashing against pristine white sand echoed in the air.
"We’re almost there...!" Lara called out.
"Almost, almost!" Celica said excitedly. "Zephy!"
"I know. I am looking forward to it," my brother nodded.
"Maybe I should wear a cute swimsuit?" Celica wondered aloud.
"Oh?!" my brother gasped, his eyes widening suddenly. "W-Will you?"
"Maybe?" Celica chuckled cutely and winked at him.
Oh my gosh, I did not know she knew how to seduce him... My brother is such a lucky boy.
"We’re here! Ooohhh! What an ocean!" my father laughed as he cut through the last of the thick vegetation, revealing the vast sea before us.
"It’s the sea!!!" Lara, Mist, Celeste, and even Celica screamed together.
"T-The ocean... I have never seen it before," Ruby muttered. She had been mostly quiet this entire time alongside my friends. "Wow... I mean, this whole world is so different from the mountains and that dungeon..."
"This is the world I created!" I said, taking her hand. "Come on, let’s go!"
"Y-Yeah!" she nodded cutely, slowly relaxing as we ran toward the blue, crystalline sea.
The white sand felt incredibly soft beneath our feet. We kicked off our boots and ran barefoot into the cold seawater, gazing back at the vast jungles and the giant roots of Yggdra that stretched all the way into the ocean.
"Last one in is a rotten egg!" Lara laughed as she sprinted toward the sea and leaped into the water. "Wowowowowow! So cold! Awaaaah!"
She laughed even as she shivered from the sudden drop in temperature.
"Here we go, Aquarina!"
"Yeah!"
"Ruby too!"
"O-Ok!"
Ruby looked super nervous, but with our encouragement she gathered the courage to jump straight into the seawater.
SPLAAASH!
Water splashed everywhere as we plunged into the cold sea.
So cold!
But also incredibly refreshing on such a hot day.
And it was so clear, pristinely clear!
I opened my eyes underwater and marveled at the vast, colorful coral reefs. Yggdra’s roots extended deep into the sea as well, covered in dozens of algae and corals growing along her wood.
All kinds of animals lived down there, colorful creatures of every shape and size. Giant white sharks, massive tunas, king crabs, and... plenty of monsters too.
Most of the ecosystem consisted of monsters. All sorts of creatures and beasts swam and lived together, occasionally hunting one another.
And when they saw us... they clearly thought we looked pretty tasty.
"Woah?!"
As I tried to swim back to the surface, a giant tentacle wrapped around my legs and dragged me downward.
Looking down in surprise, I saw a Giant Deep-Sea Kraken emerge out of nowhere near the shore.
It was a massive twenty-meter octopus monster of dark red color. I tried to pacify it using my authority as Dungeon Master, but I realized I could not.
Was it because this was now a divine realm?
This creature had become a pseudo-divine beast, no longer a mere monster.
It also exuded spiritual energy.
Was that why it was Tier 8?
I held my breath, spun in the water, and slashed through the tentacles with my dragon claws, freeing myself.
SPLASH!
I leaped back onto the shore with everyone else, but the giant creature followed, its massive tentacles chasing after me.
"Woah?! It’s coming!!!" I cried.
"What the hell?!" Aquarina shouted, genuinely shocked.
"That thing’s huge!" Celeste laughed.
"No way!" Lara said.
"Careful!" Mist cried.
"Run!" Celica shouted as she dashed away.
"Don’t worry, I will take it down!" I said. "Scarlet!"
I infused my Yggdragon Aura into Scarlet and controlled her from afar, sending her flying downward like a blazing, sharp meteor.
CRAAASH!
SLAAAASH!
BOOOOM!
The giant kraken was instantly impaled. Its body exploded as flames, thunder, and winds erupted everywhere, while ice temporarily froze that section of the sea.
"That was amazing, Scarlet!" I said with a nod.
"I live to serve you, Master!" Scarlet emerged from the ocean.
"Glutton, eat the rest!" I commanded.
"Warf!" Glutton barked, devouring the ice and everything else in an instant and storing it in my inventory.
"Thanks!" I said happily, examining what he had brought back. "Hmm, the head was blown up, but the tentacles mostly remained intact. Maybe we can work on that later. Perhaps grill it all."
After defeating the giant kraken, I even gained some EXP, which surprised me. Most of the time I could not gain EXP this way. Were the beasts that spawned in these divine realms no longer entirely extensions of me? Or perhaps they were under someone else’s control now... Well, whatever the case, I could potentially benefit from this!
