Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 2020: Hunting Divine Spirit Beasts

Chapter 2020: Hunting Divine Spirit Beasts

-----

Are the beasts that spawn in these divine realms no longer entirely an extension of me? Or perhaps it is because they are now under someone else’s control... Well, whatever the case, I could potentially benefit from this.

From what I know, divine and spirit beasts help maintain a healthy divine realm, so overhunting them feels wrong. It is still better to hunt outside for the most part, unless I am certain they will spawn regularly and in large numbers.

Even so, it would not hurt to hunt a few here and gain some EXP. I need it to finally max out the levels of some of my beast companions.

And then evolve them.

I wonder... will they all evolve into super divine beings?

Nah, that would be too much. Only certain ones will. Still, I cannot wait to see what they become once they reach max level and evolve.

"Wow, that was crazy, but you defeated it so quickly, Sylphy!" Lara exclaimed. "That was awesome!"

"Yeah, it was incredible. Well done," Mist nodded.

"Now, that’s a lot of tentacles. Is this meat edible?" Celeste wondered.

"Yeah, it is..." I said, rubbing my chin.

As we examined the corpse, I noticed our parents already hunting another beast that had emerged from the sea to attack us.

It was a giant three-headed electric sea eel, another Tier 8 Divine Spirit Beast.

"Woah, what is this thing?!" my father asked.

"It’s huge!" Nepheline cried.

"Be careful! It is raining thunderbolts everywhere!" my mother warned.

"And I thought it would be peaceful here..." Shade muttered. "Hey, Sylphy, can’t you calm it down?"

"Take it down!" I shouted from a distance. "It is fine! These are wild. I cannot control them!"

Our parents heard the news and their eyes gleamed with excitement. They nodded and rushed toward the beast.

"Careful with its electric body!" my mother called.

"Hit it with long-range attacks!" Shade said, hurling dozens of his Soul Weapon Knives, which exploded into black flames.

"Gotcha!" my dad roared, swinging his massive sword and unleashing cutting waves of sword energy.

"How about some boulder rain for a change?!" Nepheline laughed, conjuring giant boulders that crushed the beast into the ground.

"You’re done for!" my mother finished it off. A magic circle appeared above the beast, and a giant white beam burned it away.

BOOOM!

The beast let out an agonizing cry before collapsing dead onto the ground.

It was swift and incredibly thrilling.

And I received all the EXP as well.

"Sylphy, the kraken also dropped some items!" Alice called.

"Ah, got it!" I nodded and grabbed what was floating on the sea. "Hm? Oh! Soul Orbs... Divine Spirit Orbs?! And... what is this?"

It was a small, glowing, transparent egg. "Is this a dropped item?" I asked.

"Yeah," Alice replied.

Once I picked it up, it felt soft and wet. It was indeed an egg.

---

[Giant Kraken Egg (? Grade)]

The egg dropped by a Giant Kraken. Once it hatches, a small Kraken with Spirit and Divine Beast properties will be born. It will be easy to form a familiar bond with it, no matter who receives it.

---

"Oooh, so this is like a free familiar pet!" I said happily. "This is so cool! I wonder who should have it? I do not think I need one myself... I do not like octopuses."

"Well, we can decide that later," Alice said. "Aquarina seems compatible, and if she does not want it, maybe your brother. He only has a single familiar, which is not ideal."

"Not wrong," I nodded, pocketing the egg in my inventory since it counted as an item. "Alright, let us see—Woah?!"

Just as we were about to relax, the seas behind us suddenly trembled. Several wild Divine Spirit sea beasts emerged, roaring aggressively at us.

Giant sharks with crab-like legs, crab kings with golden carapaces, three-headed electric eels, more giant krakens, and even giant fishmen kings appeared.

"W-What is this?! Yggdra?" I called. "Your sea is not safe at all!"

"I know! I am so sorry!!!" Yggdra appeared by my side. "I did not expect this. The divine realm is overflowing with too many beasts! Most of them spawned in the sea. I have been keeping them busy down there, but can you take them down?"

"Is it really fine?" I asked.

"Call it a Divine Spirit Beast hunting season if you want," she replied. "Sometimes there is too much divine and spirit energy accumulated, which causes massive spawns of beasts. Once you defeat enough, the ecosystem will slow down and balance itself again. I could handle it myself, but I thought it might be more fun for you and your friends."

"It is! Okay!"

Suddenly I learned a lot. Apparently the Dungeon’s first floor was overflowing with divine spirit energy, causing Divine Spirit Beasts to spawn endlessly and become extremely aggressive.

Yggdra could probably deal with the monsters herself, but it would be far better if we handled it and claimed all the EXP and loot.

"Are you sure this is fine?" I asked again.

"Yeah. The thing is, this dungeon now holds a lot of divine spiritual energy since I evolved and turned it into my own divine realm," Yggdra explained. "I redirected the surplus into the seas to keep the land safe for the Arboren people. Although there are still plenty of beasts on land, the overflowing energy mostly affected the ocean. It is causing the beasts to grow quickly, appear in large numbers, and become progressively territorial and hyper-aggressive, especially toward invaders."

"So that is why they do not recognize me?" I wondered, walking toward the beach as my friends stared at the approaching army of beasts. "I cannot control them either."

"Indeed. Divine Realm Floors seem to operate under different rules," she explained. "Divine Spirit Beasts cannot be controlled like normal dungeon-born monsters. I am sorry about this... They simply obey their most basic instincts as dungeon guardians in a berserk state. And because there are so many, once they start chasing you, the entire army will follow."

"So how many can we kill?" I asked, calling back Scarlet and Sapphire and wielding both of them. My Quintuple Yggdragon Aura surged powerfully around me.

"Kill as many as you want!" Yggdra said. "There is really no limit, as long as they stop bothering you."

"Okay!" I nodded. "Hey guys! Yggdra says it is fine to hunt as many as we want!"

"Really?!" Aquarina asked. "Oh well, might as well, right? And we get some levels!"

"Okay, sure!" Mist nodded, summoning her bow along with dozens of glistening golden light arrows that rotated around her.

"It is time!" Celica said, summoning her golems one after another. The plushies transformed into gigantic, heavily armored, black and phantasmal titans.
