"Hmph!"

Lolth crushed her own hand and forged a giant scythe instead, then rushed back at him and swung it. Zephyrus intercepted her with his sword as their blades finally clashed. Both chased each other across the sky, explosions of golden light and darkness erupting everywhere.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

For a second, it felt like they were on equal terms, but that was nothing but a pitiful illusion. In a split second, Zephyrus was struck down by a gigantic fist. A scythe came rushing down as he fell, cutting through his chest and attempting to shatter his armor.

"HAAAAHHH!"

But his aura surged, forming a giant half-human, half-phoenix figure. Massive phoenix talons grappled her body and tore away pieces of her armor while punching her face and popping one of her eyes!

"YOU DAMN PIECE OF...!"

Lolth lost control. She opened her mandibles and bit directly into Zephyrus, tearing off his left arm and shoulder. Blood splattered everywhere as Zephyrus screamed in agony.

"Aaaaaaggghhh!"

"Heheh...! HAHAHAHA!"

Lolth laughed as she bit into the arm and shoulder meat, tasting it. Her expression twisted strangely as the flesh turned into flames and exploded.

BOOOMMM!!!

"Guuaaaaack?!"

Lolth screamed as part of her divine avatar’s mandible fell to the ground. She watched in shock as Zephyrus rapidly recovered, golden metal and flames restoring his body to normal.

He didn’t waste the opportunity. He struck the ground and reached her in an instant, splitting the sky as he punched her with everything he had, sending her crashing down.

His entire armor and power had gathered into that single golden fist, leaving Lolth stunned.

But then she began to recover rapidly, absorbing the energy of the dungeon.

"You’re strong, boy. I have never seen a human who bonded and fused with such a legendary beast as an Orichalcum Phoenix! However... that’s not enough!"

She clashed against him once more, trampling him into the ground and unleashing dozens of crushing attacks with her foot. The ground shattered constantly as giant mountain-sized boulders flew everywhere, crushing Zephyrus only for him to slice them apart with his golden sword—or rather, his rapier. He constantly switched between forms by fusing his materialized beast aura into the weapon.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

"What’s wrong?! Where’s all that bravado from earlier, boy?!" Lolth laughed loudly. "Don’t tell me you’ve grown afraid now! Don’t tell me you’re trembling on your knees like the little baby you are! HAHAHAHA! You are incomparable to your sister! While that bitch really angered me... you? You can’t do shit to me! HAHAHAHAHA! YOU WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN HER SHADOW..."

Darkness spread everywhere as Lolth conjured her Divine Domain, trapping Zephyrus inside. The boy clenched his teeth and gripped his head as she tortured his mind with her relentless words.

"SHUT UP!!!"

She toyed with him, conjuring a giant Sylph made of darkness and spiders and forcing it to fight him. She copied all of Sylphy’s moves, overpowering him as she consumed his mind and soul.

"YOU’RE NOTHING!!!"

Lolth laughed loudly as the Sylphy clone cut through his shoulder and dug into his flesh. Curses seeped deep inside as Zephyrus screamed in agony.

"Gaaaaahhhhhhh!"

Lolth laughed, her long claws digging into his body, piercing his flesh and organs. She tore pieces out of him and ate them bite after bite...

Only for them to explode.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

"Ugh?!"

In that moment, Zephyrus smiled back at her. Lolth’s eyes widened as her mouth burned once again.

"Tasty?"

"SILENCE!"

Lolth lost her composure and swung her arms down, crushing Zephyrus with all her force and flattening his body into the ground, sending thousands of cracks across the surface.

And finishing him.

"Haaa... Haaa... Haaa... damn brat..." she growled, staring at his dead, crushed body. "A pest until the very end, huh?"

Her eyes widened as she saw Zephyrus standing up. His flattened body rapidly regenerated as golden flames covered him, reviving him.

"Phoenix Rebirth."

"?!"

Indeed. At this point, Zephyrus had already mastered that power. Phoenixes were not just blazing birds. They possessed the ability to revive upon death. Sometimes only once, but when they were as strong as the majestic Orichalcum Phoenix, they could do so almost every day. This made them the hardiest monsters to kill, unless one could inflict soul damage potent enough to destroy them.

And Lolth was certain she had dealt plenty of soul damage, yet Zephyrus’s soul would not break. He possessed such a resilient soul that even attacks from evil gods barely left scratches, which healed instantly.

"Y-You little shit... Just what... what are you?!" she asked in disbelief, her hands trembling as she stepped back. "No, you’re just a pitiful mortal!"

"I cannot hope to defeat you alone. That’s why I need their help," Zephyrus said, spitting out teeth that had already regrown. "But I’m sure as hell I can keep you distracted."

"Distracted...?!"

Lolth realized something was wrong, but it was too late. Zephyrus swung his rapier at her, piercing tiny holes through her body that burst into golden flames and burned her.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

She screamed in pain but quickly recovered and smashed his body into the pavement. An explosion of miasma surged as the floor shattered and boulders flew. Zephyrus recovered quickly and fought her again.

Rapier and scythes clashed constantly. Deadly blows were exchanged without end. Lolth was clearly stronger. Zephyrus’s attacks couldn’t deal any permanent damage to her yet...

But he was holding his own. Even if only for a few minutes, even if only for now, he was holding his own no matter what.

Because he trusted his friends as much as they trusted him.

"Enough is enough, worm!"

Lolth had had enough. She forged a giant spear made of her divinity and void and hurled it toward Zephyrus. In that moment, he knew such damage would be fatal no matter what.

And yet...

"It’s over!"

BOOOMMM!!!

Lolth was punched by a massive stone fist, sent flying across the air and crashing through three mountains before vomiting blood, her guts spilling everywhere.

"W-Wha...?!"

Her eyes widened. The giant fist had hurt her so badly that she was taking time to recover! She looked toward the direction of the attack and found...

"The Dungeon Boss?!"

The Stone Dragon’s corpse remained mostly intact, overflowing with Spiritual Power and Phantasmal Energies. Two girls stood inside, empowering the construct with their energies and powers, refining the corpse into a Spiritual Golem.
