Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 2078: The Heroes’ Party Side

Chapter 2078: The Heroes’ Party Side

------

(A few minutes ago.)

"ROOOAAARRR!"

A mighty roar shook the Aberrant Jungle Dungeon. A colossal aberrant creature surged through the endless, titanic jungle, its form resembling a monstrous dinosaur fused with the head of a massive crocodile and multiple giant arms lined with razor-sharp claws. The monstrosity tore its way forward, clashing fiercely with the heroes who had come to exterminate it.

It was not alone. Hundreds of other infested and cursed dinosaurs followed, their bodies aberrantly mutated into grotesque chimeric forms. Thick miasma poured from their orifices while purple crystals jutted across their flesh in unnatural patterns.

Their leader, the [Almighty Titanosaur Tyrant], had once been a Tier 8 Boss. Now corrupted by the curse, it had risen into a Tier 10 threat—one powerful enough to unleash chaos across the outside world if it ever escaped.

Facing it were the Heroes of the previous generation.

"You’re one tough guy, huh? I guess I’ll have to use a tenth of my power, or this will drag on forever."

Alan swung his burning blade, clashing against the creature’s claws and slicing through its thick hide, scales, and mana aura barrier in a single fluid motion.

"Don’t be stupid, Alan. Don’t hold back—let’s finish this quickly!"

Right behind the titan, Shade melted into shadows and unleashed dozens of attacks at once. At the same time, he summoned spectral shadow undead that descended upon the army of dinosaurs below, slaughtering them mercilessly.

"You two are taking it too easy! Just take it down already!"

Meanwhile, Faylen floated high above, shielded within a bubble of holy divine magic. She rained thousands of precise beams of light across the battlefield, each one chasing down its target with deadly accuracy.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

The titanic boss roared in fury as it watched its entire army wiped out in seconds. It opened its massive jaws and fired a colossal beam of miasmic flames toward Faylen.

BOOOMMM!!!

Her barrier held effortlessly, crackling with sparks of electricity as the black breath washed harmlessly over it.

"Pathetic."

With her usual haughty demeanor fully on display, Faylen crossed her arms and looked down on the beast. A gigantic five-hundred-meter magic circle bloomed in the sky above her.

"Divine Judgement."

A simple name for a devastating Tier 10 Spell of Holy Light and Divine power. The spell summoned a massive beam of pure, all-consuming photon energy that burned through most of the monster’s body and disintegrated the rest in a single second, leaving only a charred black corpse behind.

BOOOMMM!!!

"Woah, Faylen! Be careful, dear!" Allan complained. "We almost got caught in that!"

"I guess that takes care of the second boss," Shade said, floating in midair as a pair of feathered black wings spread from his shadows. "Faylen, didn’t you use too much mana?"

"Please," Faylen shrugged. "I’ve been training this entire time. I can conjure Tier 10 Spells as easily as breathing now. There’s nothing to worry about."

"Haha, that’s my wife," Allan smiled. He flew toward her and tried to hug her, but Faylen was in a grumpy mood and pushed him aside. "I don’t want hugs right now, Allan. I want results! Stop lazing around. Have you gotten lazier after taking that long break?"

"W-What? Of course not! I’ve been training diligently almost every day," Allan insisted. "I promise!"

"Hmph. Then use that power to defeat our opponents faster," Faylen sighed, tapping her elbows. "You’ve always had that bad habit of playing with your prey. One day it’s going to get you killed."

"Come on, don’t say that..." Allan laughed awkwardly. "I’m sorry. I’ll take it seriously now."

"You’d better!" Faylen said, as bossy as ever. "Now let’s go deeper, Shade. We need to find the third boss and completely purify this jungle. Once we’re done, we’ll return to Sylphy and the others."

"I suppose you’re worried about them?" Shade asked, checking a map listing the dungeons.

The Burning Forest Dungeon. (Sylphy and Aquarina’s party is here.)

The Poison Swamp Dungeon. (Still Cursed)

The Stone Cathedral Dungeon. (Zephyrus’s party is here.)

The Insect Nest Dungeon. (Still Cursed)

The Giant Beast Dungeon. (Still Cursed)

The Underwater Abyss Dungeon. (Cleared by the Heroes. Free of all Curses)

The Volcanic Hellscape Dungeon. (Cleared by the Heroes. Free of all Curses)

The Aberrant Jungle Dungeon. (We are here. Almost done.)

The Underground Tower Dungeon. (Still Cursed)

The Dragon Tomb Dungeon. (Still Cursed, Origin of the Curse)

"Look, we’ve already cleared three dungeons with this one," Shade said. "We’re almost done. If the kids hurry up, they could join us at the Underground Tower Dungeon. I’ve heard it’s the largest—even bigger than the Dragon Tomb Dungeon."

"Hmm..." Allan nodded. "We explored it before, back when we were young heroes. It was one of our missions. The gods placed a trial inside. Once we completed it, we received part of the inheritance left by ancient heroes. Still... a hundred floors is way too much."

"And each floor was like a small world," Shade added. "I’ve seen the same with Sylphy’s dungeon, and hers is even greater. But yeah, it was our first time facing something so ridiculous. If this one is infested with miasma and the curse... it’s going to be hellish."

"The Dragon Tomb Dungeon is smaller but has stronger monsters," Faylen said with a sigh. "And well... it wasn’t there when we first explored this mountain. The Underground Tower Dungeon’s hundred floors were always the greatest challenge. That other dungeon... well..."

"..."

Allan suddenly fell silent. He gazed at the sky for a moment and sighed. His eyes filled with deep sorrow as he nodded.

"I know... it’s my fault it’s there. It’s all my fault."

"..."

"..."

Faylen and Shade noticed Allan’s sorrow. He was usually so cheerful no matter his age, but whenever he was reminded of that tragedy from his youth, he grew quiet and somber. The regret still haunted him, and it had now triggered an even greater disaster.

"Allan, it’s not your fault," Shade said gently. "It was an accident. I’m sure Little Flamie did it to protect you. That guy loved you. He was your friend for years... While all the other dragons had cast him aside, you welcomed him into the party. He was our friend too."

"...Dear," Faylen softened, setting aside her grumpiness. She placed a hand on his shoulder. "It’s okay. We’ll get through this together. You are not alone."

"...Thanks," Allan replied with a faint smile. But the smile quickly faded as painful memories flashed through his mind. "Ugh... Damn it..."

A few tears slipped from his eyes. He often imagined what life would have been like if Little Flamie had grown up with them—what adventures they would have shared, and how strong they could have become together once the young dragon reached adulthood.

"Maybe if he had been alive when we fought the Demon King... things would have been different," he muttered weakly. "Maybe we wouldn’t have lost so many friends... Maybe if I hadn’t made that mistake..."

"Enough," Faylen said firmly. "You keep blaming yourself for something that was an accident! I know it was a tragedy, but more than twenty years have passed. I know that’s nothing to elves, but for humans that’s almost a fourth of your lifespan, right?"

"Haha, yeah," Allan said, gently caressing her blonde hair. "I just... if I had known a dungeon would appear over his grave, I never would have buried him there. But the body of a dragon is such a valuable material... I wanted to hide him. I couldn’t bear the thought of using him for equipment either. It would have broken my heart..."

"What’s done is done," Shade said, his voice steady. "Let’s move, friend. Let’s finish this. Eventually we’ll face that dungeon, whoever is behind all this. Once it’s over, you’ll finally have some peace. The only way is forward."
