Chapter 2079: The Aberrant Jungle Dungeon Boss

"What’s done is done," Shade said coldly. "Let’s move, my friend. Let’s finish this. Once it’s over, we’ll face that dungeon and whoever is behind it. Then, finally, you’ll have some peace of mind. The only way is forward."
"Hah, to think you’d be the one telling me that," Allan laughed. "You’re right, Shade. Thank you."
"You’ve really changed, haven’t you?" Faylen teased, smiling at Shade. "You’ve changed so much."
"Not more than you two," Shade replied. "I went through a lot myself, but I owe most of it to Nepheline. She was always there for me. Even after I was cruel to her so many times... even after I tried to kill all of you... you still stopped me. You forgave me. You gave me a second chance when no one else ever had."
"Yeah, haha, after we beat the hell out of you first, though," Allan laughed. "But yeah."
"I wonder if the Order of Executioners is even active anymore," Faylen mused. "Since the Demon King was vanquished and we ran away, they haven’t come after us at all. Do they fear us? Or respect us?"
"Maybe a bit of both," Shade said. "Missions to kill or subjugate heroes rarely end well. I learned that firsthand when they ordered me to eliminate you if you ever strayed from the Church’s path. I was manipulated. And you... you freed me from that. Thank you."
"It’s fine," Allan shrugged. "That was almost two decades ago. Deep down, you never truly meant it, right? You were being controlled."
"I deserved to be punished. I deserved to die," Shade said quietly. "But you chose not to kill me, even though you would have been completely justified. For that, I am eternally grateful."
"Enough," Faylen said. "We’ve talked enough. Let’s keep moving. We can’t waste any more time."
"Right," Allan nodded. "Let’s go."
The trio continued flying swiftly through the sky, powered by their Mana and Spiritual Auras. Their Familiars spread out around them, surveying the area and eliminating smaller monsters along the way.
However, as they drew closer to the center of the jungle, the miasma in the air thickened dramatically, surging to dangerous new levels.
"The sky is turning black, and the trees are twisting into grotesque shapes," Faylen observed, looking down. "Is this the curse’s power? It’s warping reality itself!"
"Isn’t that beyond what a normal curse can do?" Allan asked.
"Of course it is," Shade replied. As a curse caster himself, he knew this better than anyone. "Ordinary curses have limits. But this is a Divine Curse, born from an Evil God’s Divine Technique. Its power is directly tied to the god’s own divinity, and it can grow far stronger depending on their rank."
"Still, it feels more like a disease than a curse," Faylen sighed, shaking her head. "And something feels off. I sense... someone or something assisting the curse caster."
"So it’s not a solo effort?" Allan asked. "Who could be helping them? Another evil god? Are we really facing two of them?"
"Likely," Faylen said. "I wouldn’t even rule out Gray himself being involved, which would mean..."
"The Evil God of Dungeons," Shade muttered. "I’ve never faced him before, but it seems you and your daughter already have, Allan."
"He was a pathetic bastard," Allan growled. "Acts all high and mighty, but he was terrified of our daughter. He fears her far more than he fears us."
"I know," Faylen nodded. "Both our daughter and our son possess incredible potential. They’ve barely begun to tap into it. Sylphy has probably only accessed around three percent of her full power, while our son might have reached five."
"Wait, what? Are you serious?" Allan’s eyes widened. He knew his children were strong, but this was on another level. "I knew they were powerful, but... wow."
Faylen sighed, crossing her arms. "Allan, are you serious?"
Allan laughed awkwardly. "C-Calm down, baby. I’m just joking. Unlike you, I can’t see people’s potential like that. I doubt even Shade can."
Shade nodded. "I can sense they have untapped power, but your ability is special, Faylen."
"Whatever," Faylen sighed. "They still have a long way to go. Ah—get ready!"
RUMBLE!
Their conversation was suddenly cut short as a massive, malignant presence erupted from the center of the jungle. A colossal creature rose from the shadows of the forest, radiating overwhelming power.
Part dinosaur, part plant, it was a two-hundred-meter monstrosity that shook the earth and dominated the entire jungle around it. A three-headed titanosaur with the heads of different dinosaurs, four enormous wings, three tails, and eight powerful humanoid arms.
"GROOOOAAARRRRRRR!"
Its roar alone sent powerful shockwaves that forced the heroes back. They narrowed their eyes and immediately released their Beast Auras, powering up as they fused with their familiars. Allan sprouted phoenix wings, Faylen gained elegant white swan wings and razor-sharp talons, and Shade formed a black armored exoskeleton with two extra arms and insect-like wings.
"That’s the boss of this dungeon, mutated into something far more dangerous!" Faylen warned. "If we let this thing rampage outside the jungle, it’s over for everyone. Get ready!"
The titanic chimeric monstrosity was known as the [Three-Headed Chimeric Dinosaur Emperor], a Tier 8+ monster that had now reached the peak of Tier 10.
Despite its enormous size, it was neither slow nor mindless.
RUMBLE!
In a split second, gigantic hands made of twisted dinosaur bones and corrupted, miasmic trees erupted from the ground beneath them, seizing the heroes before they could react.
"HUHUH! THAT WAS EASIER THAN I THOUGHT!"
Their Mana began draining rapidly. Eyes wide with shock, they were dragged directly in front of the boss as an army of grotesque dinosaur-spider hybrids poured out from the jungle, merging with the eldritch mutated flora.
"HUHUHUHU! NOW MASTER WILL REWARD ME! GUHUHUH!"
To their disbelief, the Boss was speaking with clear intelligence. Allan, Faylen, and Shade stared in stunned silence, studying the creature’s unnatural behavior. Never before had they encountered a monster that acted this way.
