Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 2114: Divine Protection-Shattering Attack

Chapter 2114: Divine Protection-Shattering Attack

-----

After witnessing the Boss Monster regenerate repeatedly thanks to its Divine Protection, Shade grew increasingly angry and frustrated by this unfair advantage.

"Tsk, I can’t keep doing this forever!" Shade thought, narrowly dodging a giant beam of flames that erupted from the monster’s back. "I have to find a way to pierce through Divine Protection. Is there even a method? Is it possible to shatter a divine blessing with a physical attack?"

"If you could launch an attack capable of targeting the soul, it might be possible, Master," Vulcan spoke. "From what I have understood, divine protections reside within the soul itself. A part of the soul has been enchanted by a fragment of divinity."

"So I need to target that directly... It’s not like I haven’t tried hundreds of times before, for years..." Shade muttered.

He continued evading the incoming attacks, then charged forward once more. The Flame Tyrant smiled viciously and raised its massive hands.

"I got you now! Inferno!!!"

BOOOMMM!!!

Shade was instantly engulfed in an endless sea of flames that erupted from the ground, transforming the entire area into erupting volcanoes. The intense heat and destructive power seemed overwhelming. How could anyone survive such an onslaught?

SLASH!

By cutting through the flames and coating himself in a protective veil of black void, he completely negated the damage, though it consumed a large amount of mana he preferred not to waste.

FLUOSH!

He burst out of the inferno to the boss’s visible surprise. Without hesitation, Shade aimed straight for its core and unleashed a Void Nova, blowing the center apart.

But then...

BA-DUM!

The monster regenerated fully, returning to its previous state as if nothing had happened. The Flame Tyrant grinned and smashed Shade’s body dozens of times with its powerful fists.

The Void Veil worked well at negating and reflecting damage, but keeping it active constantly would exhaust his mana rapidly. Abyssal Embodiment might be his only option now.

"It’s time, I guess."

Shade clicked his tongue. His hands began to transform, followed by the rest of his body. He turned into a shadowy being, his hair shifting into writhing tentacles while a single red eye appeared across his now featureless face.

"?!"

The boss had never seen this form before.

"Abyssal Embodiment has the natural power to hurt souls. Let’s try again. There’s nothing else but to try!"

He charged forward and clashed violently with the boss. Giant swords of roaring flames collided against his long shadow claws, which constantly shifted into sharp blades. Vulcan remained fused with him, reinforcing his insectoid armor and granting a massive boost to both power and speed.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

The Flame Tyrant was steadily pushed back. Its strength could not compare to Shade’s enhanced form.

"BURN ALREADY!"

In desperation, the monster unleashed another Inferno. Shade sliced the flames apart with his blade-like hand, closed the distance, and pierced something intangible.

The monster’s soul.

"I will destroy your soul now."

"?!"

"Let’s see you revive from that!"

His murderous blade pierced deep into the monster’s soul and struck the brighter core within it. He slashed it dozens of times, cutting through it like paper before completely disintegrating the divine blessing.

"W-What did you...! What did you do— AAAAGGHHHH!"

BOOOMMM!!!

A massive explosion consumed the boss as its soul and the divine blessing inside it shattered into dozens of pieces. Shade absorbed and devoured the fragments through his Abyssal Embodiment form, which allowed him to gain power from such destruction.

"I feel stronger," he muttered. "And it worked... I guess I’ll turn that into a proper technique. It still needs better refinement. For now... let’s bring these people to safety."

He quickly sent the trapped civilians to a safer location as more monsters approached in the distance. Shade viewed them as perfect test subjects and punching bags for honing his growing power.

"I need plenty of punching bags so my power can be tested and improved. Come, as many of you as possible!"

He charged forward without fear, always keeping Aquarina and Nepheline in his heart.

"And you two... please be safe."

As Shade continued clashing against the horde of beasts, he heard loud tremors echoing from outside the area. King Thassarion had begun advancing with his army.

King Thassarion’s footsteps created powerful tremors across the land. As he unleashed his Supreme Aura, whose current tier remained unknown to most yet easily surpassed even the strongest bosses in the region, the entire world seemed to fall still in his presence.

Each step he took provoked not only tremors but also overwhelming fear in his enemies and profound relief in those he had come to protect. A beautiful garden and lush forest manifested around him as he walked. His Domain had become a perfect expression of his true self. With a mere thought, he could reshape the world around him.

This was a level of power that only someone who had lived for so long and cultivated his Physique, Magic Circle, Psyche, Spiritual Heart, Swordsmanship, and countless other aspects could achieve. His strength embodied ten thousand years of relentless effort and dedication.

Since the day he began training to build a powerful body as a sickly child at ten years old, King Thassarion had never stopped working out, training, and fighting every single day.

Thus, he was not merely known as the Elven King, but also as the "Fortress of Muscle." Some even called him the "Herculean King of Elves."

It had once been considered impossible for a High Elf, bearer of the purest elven bloodline, to develop such a formidable physique that could surpass even the strongest and most muscular races, such as the Amazonians.

The only response most people could offer beyond the King’s own words that he had simply worked very hard was...

"He’s just built different, isn’t he?"

"The King is the King, right?"

"What’s there to question? He just is strong."

And that was all there needed to be known. The moment he faced Divine Protection-reinforced Cursed Super Bosses at Tier 11 and 12, such as the Tyrant Abyssal Raptor King and the Void Sea Horror, the truth of his power became undeniable.

His sword gleamed with brilliant light as he swung it with overwhelming strength, never once halting his steady advance toward the mountain. In mere seconds, these titanic beasts were cleanly bisected into two perfect halves. They collapsed to the ground as their souls were vaporized and their divine protections erased completely.

Indeed, the King had long ago discovered ways to overcome such obstacles. He had mastered the arts of Soul Destruction and Divine Protection Erasure. This expertise came mostly from necessity. In his long life, he had confronted many traitorous heroes who misused their divine blessings for evil, and he was often the one tasked with taking them down, sometimes at the direct request of the Gods themselves.
