Chapter 2115: The Elven King Is Here
Chapter 2115: The Elven King Is Here
-----
After witnessing the Elven King effortlessly dispatch even the most formidable foes with graceful precision, the panicked citizens rushing toward the airships slowed in awe. Gasps of disbelief rippled through the crowd as they stared at his imposing figure, majestic posture, and calm, unshakable demeanor. His presence alone seemed to radiate hope amid the chaos.
"Citizens, do not fear," Thassarion called out, his voice steady and resonant, carrying across the battlefield like a beacon. "Walk past me and board the airships. You will be safe there. I swear it on my name."
Tears streamed down many faces as their eyes widened with overwhelming relief and gratitude.
"T-Thank you, Your Majesty!"
"The Elven King is really here...!"
"It’s the King! The King has come!"
"Thank you so much...!"
"Lord Thassarion! We’re saved!"
Even as gigantic monstrosities descended from the blood-stained skies, Thassarion greeted every civilian with kindness, offering gentle nods and reassuring smiles. He stood like an unmovable pillar of strength, his golden-green armor gleaming under the chaotic light.
"Protect the civilians and His Majesty!" the Yggdrasil Knight Captain roared, his voice filled with unyielding resolve. He soared into the skies on a magnificent pair of glowing fairy wings, thrusting his golden divine spear forward with divine precision. The weapon pierced straight through dozens of Tier 10 monsters in a single charge, leaving gaping holes that leaked dark essence.
Dozens of elite knights followed immediately behind him, all adorned with shimmering fairy wings. Moving as a single, perfectly coordinated unit, they unleashed a devastating combination attack. Their spears and blades danced in harmony, carving through the air and slaughtering hundreds of monsters in one sweeping assault. The coordinated strike completely halted a massive swarm attempting to break through toward the fleeing civilians.
"Don’t let a single one escape!" the captain bellowed.
Meanwhile, the Elven High Archmagi — though not all possessed wings — demonstrated their incredible might. These elite mages from the Magic and Knight Academy chanted in unison, their voices weaving powerful spells that lit up the sky.
Torrential rains of crackling thunder, flaming meteors that streaked like falling stars, volleys of razor-sharp icicle spears, holy light beasts that roared with purity, shadowy creatures born of darkness, and devastating beams of pure destruction rained down upon the horde.
The combined magical barrage completely vaporized wave after wave of monsters, turning the battlefield into a spectacle of elemental fury.
As the larger boss monsters drew near, King Thassarion raised his legendary broadsword and swung it once. A single, sharp, and potent strike was all it took. The blade released a blinding arc of golden-green energy that sliced through the bosses before they could even unleash their full power, ending their threats instantly.
With the path secured, the royal forces began making their way deeper into the mountain stronghold.
However...
"Felicia, what exactly are you fighting?!" the King suddenly called out to empty air, as if conversing with someone invisible.
The knights and archmagi paused in confusion for a brief moment before their senses picked up on an overwhelmingly powerful presence rapidly approaching.
From the skies above, a colossal mechanical construct — a giant machine forged by the gods themselves — descended with terrifying speed, its metallic frame crackling with divine energy.
"EXTERMINATE...! EXTERMINATE... ANOMALY...!" it roared mechanically, its voice distorted and cold. One of its massive arms was missing, yet it still leveled countless lasers and missile pods directly at the King.
Thassarion narrowed his eyes, raising a hand to halt his knights and magicians. "All of you, proceed inside the city. I will handle this personally. Now!"
"YES, YOUR HIGHNESS!" they responded in unison, quickly retreating into the fortified mountain city to begin cleansing operations, leaving the King to face the mechanical guardian alone.
CLAAAASH!
The machine’s remaining massive arm came crashing down like a falling mountain. Thassarion effortlessly deflected the blow with his broadsword, sparks and divine energy exploding outward. A barrage of projectiles and missiles followed, detonating directly against his body in a storm of fire and smoke.
When the smoke cleared, the King stood completely unharmed. His golden-green armor shimmered brilliantly, completely unscathed. Crafted from the highest quality pseudo-divine and spiritual materials found across the continent, the armor was further reinforced by his own profound cultivation, as well as the power of his integrated Soul Treasures, Familiars, and Spirits.
This was no ordinary armor. It was a masterpiece the King had personally designed and forged over a thousand years ago. The creation process had taken him a grueling 1,500 years — gathering rare materials, performing ancient rituals, and bonding powerful entities. Now, it served as his ultimate combat suit and lifelong companion. Classified as a Divine Living Armor Spirit Guardian, the armor was alive, sentient, and deeply bonded to his soul, enhancing his already immense durability and strength.
"A mechanical guardian sent by the gods? Why?" Thassarion muttered, stepping forward instead of retreating. "Has someone angered them here? Lolth?"
As the giant machine continued its relentless assault, the King advanced boldly. He swung his broadsword with precision, cleanly severing one of the construct’s massive arms. Missiles and bullets rained down upon him, but he blocked them all with his body and living armor, completely unfazed.
With another confident step forward, an immense, oppressive force suddenly pressed down on the machine.
BOOOM!!!
The mechanical guardian crashed heavily onto the stone bridge below, shattering rock and sending debris flying in every direction. Thassarion’s Supreme Aura was so potent that it bent gravity itself to his will, crushing weaker opponents with effortless dominance.
"CRITICAL ERROR... POWERFUL LIFEFORM DETECTED... CRITICAL ERROR... CRITICA—"
"Hmph!"
With a single, decisive slash, the King swung his broadsword through the air. The blade released a devastating wave of energy that split the giant machine cleanly in two, destroying it into countless pieces that rained down across the battlefield.
"Hmm." Thassarion sheathed his sword and looked upward. "Felicia, was that a stray?"
A graceful figure descended from the sky, landing atop a smaller, tamed mechanical construct of her own. "I’m sorry about that," Felicia said with a sigh. "That granddaughter of yours — Lolth — left me here dealing with the machines the gods sent to bait us out. I managed to tame this one."
"You certainly did..." the King sighed, crossing his powerful arms. "But this is outrageous. Not only is Lolth responsible for this chaos, but the gods above have sent these mechanical abominations against my own granddaughter? Why?! What could possibly justify this?"
"I don’t know the full picture yet," Felicia admitted, her expression darkening. "But that girl has done something so severe that it has angered the gods themselves. I believe she has ascended into godhood... or something very close to it."
"She has?!" King Thassarion gasped, genuine shock flashing across his regal features. "I always knew she possessed incredible talent — the kind no one else could match — but I imagined her ascension would come much later. This is far too fast! What could have pushed her to such extremes?"
"A monster appeared," Felicia explained. "One so immensely powerful that Sylphy had no choice but to evolve rapidly in order to survive. At least, that’s my best guess. Trust me, I was furious and frustrated as well. I should have been helping the people as I promised, yet I was distracted here, forced to deal with these incredibly strong pieces of divine junk. They were nearly powerful enough to destroy the entire mountain."
"Were the gods deliberately trying to eliminate Lolth, even at the cost of so many lives?" the King asked, his voice heavy with concern. "They have always been pragmatic... never hesitating to cause collateral damage when it suits their goals."
"I’m not entirely sure," Felicia replied, her eyes sharpening with focus. "It must be a combination of many factors. The war inside the city is still raging fiercely. If Faylen or Nephilim can assist me, I can use my powers to heal the wounded and even revive some of those who have died recently."
"I would appreciate that more than words can express," King Thassarion said, bowing his head slightly in gratitude. "Please help us. I beg you."
"You don’t need to beg, Your Majesty," Felicia sighed, crossing her arms with a warm yet exasperated smile. "You are the King, after all. Just give me the order."
