Chapter 2125: A Deal
Chapter 2125: A Deal
-----
Ruby grew furious as she watched Lolth taking over her father’s body. Her blood boiled with raw anger and desperation.
"That’s my fucking father you’re talking shit about, bitch! Give him back! I don’t care if he was mean to me. He’s still the only thing I have left! I won’t give him up! I’ll fight you with my life for him!"
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Lolth burst into loud, mocking laughter.
"Well, aren’t you the cutest, Hero of the Blazing Hammer?" Lolth laughed. "But are you willing to hurt your father’s body?"
"?!" Ruby gasped and stepped back, hesitation freezing her in place the moment those words sank in.
"What’s your plan?!" Sylphy demanded.
"I have come in peace. We want the same thing, don’t we? If that fucking bastard Dimenion plans to kill me, then to hell with him! I’ll help you."
"We don’t need your help. Mom, dad, and everyone else are coming, even my grandpa!" Sylphy replied firmly. "You’re of no use to us."
"Huh, is that so?" Lolth laughed again. "I know how gods fight, and above all, I know his weakness."
"!!!"
"?!"
Everyone except Sylphy and Ruby stood speechless as they heard Lolth’s words. She knew Dimenion’s weakness. This revelation was massive. If they could bring her to their side and accept her help, they might discover a way to kill him once and for all.
Sylphy had other plans already in motion, but knowing his weakness would let them exploit it and end the threat before his giant sphere of doom finished forming.
"And what is that brilliant plan of yours?" Sylphy asked angrily.
"Heh, I am glad you asked!" Lolth replied. Her aura expanded as her silhouette manifested more clearly, giant insectoid claws opening menacingly.
She revealed Dimenion’s gaseous body to everyone present. Meanwhile, meteors and stars continued to fall from above, only to be destroyed through the desperate, coordinated efforts of everyone fighting with their lives on the line.
"This is his body, right? Dimenion was created by the Evil God of Dungeons with a certain special blueprint," she explained. "He does have a core, and that core is actually many cores at once. Among his many stars, there are special ones containing his Divinity. You must find them and destroy them."
"That’s it?!" Sylphy asked. "With my Eyes, I could have found that out eventually..."
"Hahaha! Really? Even when these stars are intangible because they exist in both the physical plane and the plane of souls?" Lolth asked.
"Oh..." Sylphy fell silent.
"Yeah, right," Lolth continued. "I can help you find them, pinpoint their exact locations, and give you a buff from my spells. It will allow you to corrupt these divinity stars with my curse. Then I will break them down from the inside out and we can kill him. Of course, I’m sealed in my own dungeon, courtesy of your wonderful grandfather! So this is all I can do. I wouldn’t be able to manage it alone."
"Yeah, if you weren’t sealed you would have just run away, bitch!" Aquarina said angrily.
"Hah, yeah I would," Lolth sighed. "But now we’re forced to cooperate. So? What do you say?!"
Everyone fell silent for a moment and looked at each other. They really did not have much of a choice here.
But in the end, seeing how furious Ruby was, Sylphy could not bring herself to accept. She prepared to restrain the monster her father had become, seal him, and exorcise Lolth out of his body.
"Sorry, but we won’t—"
"We accept your deal, Lolth."
However, another voice echoed from above.
Sylphy’s eyes widened as she realized the voice belonged to no one else but...
"Master Felicia?!"
Felicia had arrived, floating gracefully in the skies. She walked forward while waving dozens of meteors away with effortless motions of her hands.
"But why?!" Sylphy insisted.
"It must be done, Sylph. I hate it as well, but she has a point. And with Ruby’s father held hostage... we cannot do much other than agree."
Another voice echoed, this one even mightier. A giant of an elf clad in heavy armor descended while carrying a massive broadsword. His presence felt overwhelming, like a living, walking mountain.
"Grandpa...!"
Sylphy was shocked that they agreed with Lolth. Anger swelled in her heart, but she soon calmed down, realizing they were not wrong.
Then more voices joined the scene.
"I agree with Sylph though. We shouldn’t trust her."
"Father, is this really okay?!"
"Nepheline...! Are you okay? Wait...! What are you doing— Is that Lolth?!"
Allan, Faylen, and Shade arrived on the scene.
"Dad!"
"Dear!"
Aquarina and Nepheline rushed forward to hug Shade tightly.
They were soon followed by Arafunn and Ninhursag, whose mighty presences shaped the skies themselves. A massive dome of wind, melody, and thunder manifested through Arafunn’s powers, temporarily stopping Dimenion’s rain of attacks.
"Mom, dad..." Sylphy greeted her parents. "Ah! I... uh..."
"You’ve got a lot of explaining to do, young lady, but that will be for later," Faylen said.
"We should get this over with. Why negotiate with that monster?!" Allan asked, standing protectively by his daughter’s side. "I agree with Sylphy. She cannot be trusted!"
"I agree with you too," Felicia replied. "But tell me, Allan, is there any other way to solve this other than ’I’ll do my best’ or something similar? That is not going to be enough."
"Allan, sometimes as a ruler you must understand that simply annihilating your enemy is not the only way to solve conflicts," the King spoke with the calm wisdom of his advanced age. "Lolth, you are still going to pay for everything you have done, and we will not forgive you. But if you promise and create a soul contract agreeing not to betray us, we will work together."
"Heh, the King! Of course, I am under your mercy after all. You sealed me!" Lolth said, smiling through Ruby’s father’s lips. "Now, the contract."
A contract was carefully formed and signed by the King and Lolth after thorough reading and detection of every term. Sylphy and everyone else could say nothing more and had no further say in the matter. The King’s decree was absolute. It was not just because of his position, but also because of his overwhelming strength, strength that even Sylphy in her current state could not yet match. Besides, her goddess form was already beginning to fade. She did not have much time or divine power left.
"Then it’s done," the King declared, gazing toward Dimenion with steely resolve. "Now, with everyone present here, let’s begin Dimenion’s extermination!"
