Aquarina suddenly transformed into a massive serpentine sea dragon. A true Leviathan.
Her body was covered in gleaming black obsidian scales, sharp red crystal spines ran along her back, and enormous black horns crowned her head. A striking red eye gleamed across every section of her incredibly long body. She also possessed many hardened legs reinforced with thick scales and obsidian exoskeleton, resembling a nightmarish fusion of centipede limbs and serpentine dragon features.
She was utterly massive, easily over one hundred meters long, leaving everyone completely speechless at the sight.
Sylphy stood frozen in awe, and the rest of her friends stared in utter shock.
"Is that really Aquarina?!" Mist gasped.
"No way..." Zack muttered in disbelief.
"Wow!" Luck whispered. "She can undergo such an advanced form of Polymorph?"
"A-Amazing! She looks so cool!" Celica cried out happily.
"With her on our side, we can break through!" Zephyrus declared, advancing forward to join his sister and sister-in-law.
"LET’S GO!"
As the young heroes roared together, Ruby moved among them, her fiery hammer flashing brightly across the chaotic skies.
Suddenly, the cry of a strange and bizarre monster echoed through the air. It sounded disturbingly familiar, like the voice of someone she had known her entire life.
"...?"
Ruby turned toward the falling monster, her eyes widening as realization began to dawn on her.
"WHERE’S... MY WIFE..."
"?! "
"WHERE’S MY SON..."
"!!! "
"GAAAHHHHH!"
To the shock of everyone present, the monster they had assumed was just another twisted creature suddenly kicked against the sky and roared with raw fury. It manifested a massive hammer once more, smashing apart incoming boulders and spheres of light that threatened the group.
"Who is that creature?!" Zack asked urgently.
"I have no idea, but it’s... incredibly strong," Luck replied, stunned.
"It’s coming straight toward us!" Celeste panicked.
It did not take long for the monster to notice the group. It leaped over gigantic floating boulders one after another, rushing aggressively in their direction.
Sylphy’s special eyes quickly identified the threat. She noticed its mechanical hands fused brutally into its flesh, transforming into cannons that began firing deadly beams at them.
"That’s...!" she muttered. She opened her divine heavenly soul cauldron and retrieved her upgraded fused weapon. "Sapphire, Scarlet, you two ready?"
"We’re still adapting to the new materials, but...!"
"We can do it!"
Sylphy nodded firmly. Instead of aiming the cannon at the monster, she pointed it toward the skies and fired several powerful beams. The attacks struck various spheres of light, miniature stars, and massive meteors overhead. Explosions bloomed everywhere, and the resulting shockwaves and smoke pushed the strange monster back temporarily. However, it quickly began crawling forward once again with relentless determination.
"Sylphy!"
She heard Ruby’s desperate voice as her friend flew rapidly to her side, tears streaming down her face.
"Is that...?!"
Sylphy remained silent for a moment as she watched the monster approach. Before it could reach them, Aquarina’s gigantic Leviathan body intervened, smacking the creature away with tremendous force. Yet the monster kept returning, refusing to stay down.
"What is that thing?" someone shouted.
"Where did he come from?"
"Ah shit, it’s coming here again!"
The monster charged straight into their group and delivered a devastating punch to Zack, sending him flying sideways. Mist immediately fired a barrage of arrows that pierced its back, tearing away large chunks of flesh and stone. Luck followed up by launching dozens of blazing feathers toward the creature. Zephyrus swung his sword with precision, severing the monster’s left arm and covering its body with deep slashing wounds.
"GAAAHHHHH! MY...! MY SON...!"
But then everyone froze as they heard the monster’s twisted, anguished voice. For a brief moment, it stopped fighting back entirely.
BOOOM!
The creature crashed heavily into a giant floating boulder, coughing up blood. Its trembling hand stretched desperately toward Ruby.
"..."
Ruby’s eyes filled with tears of disbelief and overwhelming shock as the horrifying realization hit her.
"D-Dad?"
She could not believe what she was seeing and covered her mouth in pain.
Aquarina was equally stunned.
"T-That’s Ruby’s dad?! Wait, what happened—oh."
"The Curse can mutate people," Sylphy explained with a heavy sigh. "It turned many into monsters... her dad was among those infected."
"Dad... It’s me...!" Ruby muttered, slowly approaching the fallen figure. "What happened to you?! DAAAD!"
She could not stop herself. She flew down toward her father and ran to his body lying on the ground.
"Ahhh..."
His eyes slowly opened. The intense red light leaking from them gradually faded, revealing a faint glimmer of rationality and recognition.
"F-Father!"
Ruby fell to her knees beside him, crying uncontrollably.
"R-Rub... Ruby..."
Her father had mutated into a monstrous form, one completely immune to any known cure. It was a rare anomaly that continued mutating endlessly, consumed by endless hatred and madness.
Sylphy descended quietly to her friend’s side. Despite the dire situation unfolding around them, they could not simply abandon Ruby and her father like this.
"Ruby, let me take him," Sylphy said gently. "I will put him inside my dungeon. Then we can search for a cure later."
"R-Really?" Ruby asked, her voice completely devastated.
"Yeah," Sylphy nodded, glancing up at the gigantic sphere of doom hovering threateningly above them. "We don’t have much time."
"O-Okay..." Ruby wiped away her tears and nodded. "Okay..."
She looked at her father and extended her hand toward him.
He slowly moved his cold, metallic fingers in response. But then something changed.
"RUBY...! RUBYYYYY!"
He roared with sudden overwhelming power. Something deep inside him began mutating even further as a powerful cursed divine presence awakened and manifested.
His aura surged violently, transforming his silhouette into that of an aberrant insect-dragon hybrid creature.
They all knew exactly who this was.
Of course.
It was her.
"What are you doing here, Lolth?!" Sylphy hissed angrily. "Wait until we are done with Dimenion!"
"I am not going to sit back and watch as that bastard does whatever he pleases!" Lolth roared, lifting Ruby’s father’s body. "This vessel... it is incredible! His power is magnificent, and his self-hatred runs so deep. It makes him an outstanding talent for my abilities. He is better than most boss monsters, hahaha!"
Ruby’s eyes widened in utter shock and fury. "L-Let go...! LET FATHER GO, YOU WITCH!!!"
She hissed and raised her hand. Dozens of blazing portals opened around her, revealing her full arsenal. Weapons enchanted with her power surged forward in endless waves.
Lolth smiled wickedly across her father’s distorted face, completely in control.
"I can already feel it..." she laughed. "Within this old man’s memories... oh, how tormented he is! To think his beloved wife died by the hands of their own son, and now that same son denies who he once was, pretending to be someone else... or is she? I still do not fully understand what this is all about, and honestly, I do not care that much! But hey, your father turned out to be the perfect vessel for my power!"
"What?!" Ruby grew furious, clenching her teeth tightly. "That’s my fucking father you’re talking shit about, bitch! Give him back! I don’t care if he was mean to me. He is still the only family I have left! I won’t give him up! I’ll fight you with my life for him!"
