Chapter 356: BROKEN NEGOTIATION
Chapter 356: BROKEN NEGOTIATION
"You are just jealous," Astral called out to the elf queen, his voice sharp and unyielding, slicing through the tension in the courtyard like a blade, shocking the space clone with his raw audacity, the clone’s mouth falling open slightly in disbelief at the bold provocation.
"No, I’m not. I would be above that bastard if I had the same amount of support he had," she defended herself firmly, her cheeks flushing with a hint of indignation, her emerald eyes flashing as she held her ground on the throne, the vibrant leaves around her seeming to rustle in sympathy with her rising emotions.
"The demon. Do you know who he is?" Astral asked abruptly, deliberately ignoring the last words of the elf queen, his tone shifting back to interrogation, his body still poised in a stance of quiet intensity amid the lush greenery.
"No. That information is hard to find. And we refrained from searching too deep. I do not wish to have my entire galaxy destroyed over some flimsy curiosity," the elf queen answered, her voice steady but laced with a cautious undertone, as if the mere mention of the demon stirred shadows of fear in her mind, her fingers gripping the armrests of her throne a little tighter.
"Very well. Now, back on track. Will you offer your galaxy to us? We promise to exact revenge for your sake and bring an end to Reign’s life," the space clone inquired with a forced smile plastered on his face, his expression an awkward blend of persuasion and unease, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere with feigned charm.
"Destroying my entire galaxy just for the sake of some revenge? No thanks," the elf queen refused flatly, her words cutting like a swift arrow.
"Who said anything about destroying your entire galaxy?" the space clone retorted, his brows knitting together in mild frustration.
"Then what’s your plan? Sightseeing?" the queen asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm, far from believing the space clone’s words, a skeptical arch to her eyebrow as she studied him closely.
"He isn’t lying. We won’t destroy your galaxy. The political structure of the galaxy might change, but the people within the galaxy will be safe. Even better, they will receive better protection, power, and quality of living," Astral offered, his assurance delivered with calm conviction, envisioning the benefits as he spoke.
"How do I know this is not a fallacy?" she pressed, her suspicion evident in the tilt of her head.
"We can show you. But I’m sure you won’t be so trusting as to follow some strangers into a random portal," the space clone added, a touch of wry amusement in his voice, acknowledging the impracticality with a slight shrug amid the verdant surroundings.
"Yeah, I won’t. But I might if I judge your character and discover you can be trusted," the elf queen informed the duo, her gaze appraising them both.
"And how do you do that?" Astral inquired, his curiosity sharpening, leaning forward slightly as the words hung in the air.
"You stay here for a few days, and I monitor your character," she offered, her proposal simple yet firm.
"I can’t do that. We have to conquer the galaxy as soon as possible. I don’t have time to stall or laze around," Astral flatly refused, rising to his feet with abrupt resolve, his muscles tensing as he prepared to depart, the decision etched in his determined stride.
"And where do you think you are going?" Lisa, the elf queen, challenged, her voice ringing with authority, rising slightly from her throne as her eyes locked onto him in defiance.
"To another galaxy. I might be lucky and be able to devour it. As for your character observation, you can observe him; he won’t be leaving with me," Astral said, pointing at the space clone with a dismissive gesture, his plan unfolding without room for debate.
"What? But you need me!" the space clone protested, his voice pitching higher in alarm, his ethereal form flickering slightly with agitation as he stared at Astral in disbelief.
"Not anymore," Astral replied curtly, his tone final, brushing off the objection like dust from his shoulder.
"Wait. You guys are talking like I agreed to your decision. None of you will be leaving here," the elf queen enforced her decision, her words commanding and resolute, the air humming with her unshakeable will.
Vines rose from around the courtroom, emerging from the earth with a soft, whispering growth, their thick tendrils weaving together to block every single exit, casting long shadows across the ground.
"And don’t think of warping out of here. You won’t be able to do so. These vines have special abilities," Lisa warned, her smile confident and knowing, the plants’ leaves shimmering with an otherworldly glow that hinted at their enchanted power.
"You’re really starting to piss me off," Astral said coldly, his eyes glowing with a dark, menacing light, the runes all over his body igniting in a cascade of faint, pulsing energy that illuminated his skin like ancient script coming alive.
"Come on. You lost the last time," the elf queen said, staring at Astral without a trace of fear, her stance relaxed yet vigilant, ready to counter any move in the enclosed space.
"I won’t this.... Aarghhhh!!!!!" Astral started, his defiant words trailing off into a sharp cry of agony.
Astral couldn’t finish his statement, collapsing to the ground in a sudden heap, his hands clutching his eyes tightly, his body convulsing against the soft, mossy floor.
He felt excruciating pain that tore through him like jagged lightning, catching the space clone and elf queen by complete surprise, their faces paling in the midst of the unexpected turmoil.
"What’s going on, buddy? You good?" the space clone asked, hurrying to Astral’s side with genuine worry, his voice trembling slightly as he knelt down, the courtyard’s peaceful ambiance shattered.
"My eyes. It hurtsssssss!!!" Astral cried in pain, his scream echoing through the trees, sweat beading on his forehead as he writhed, the torment twisting his features into a grimace of pure suffering.
"What did you do?" the space clone demanded of the queen, a deep frown appearing on his face, his accusatory stare burning with sudden distrust.
"I didn’t do anything—" she began, her hands gesturing in denial, her expression a mask of confusion and concern.
"Aarghhhh!!!!!" the space clone bellowed, his own cry interrupting her, pain exploding in his eyes as well.
Her words were broken by the additional cry of the space clone, who now doubled over, his hands flying to his face in mirrored agony.
"What is going on?" the elf queen yelled, her voice rising in alarm above the chaos, fully confused over what was happening to the duo, her eyes darting wildly as the elves around her froze in shock.
Astral and the space clone clutched their eyes, suffering excruciating pain, their yells a raw testament to the inexplicable torment gripping them both.
