Chapter 357: HASTENING THE CONQUEST

Chapter 357: HASTENING THE CONQUEST

The elf queen stood vigil over Astral and the space clone, her brow furrowed in deep bewilderment, unable to grasp what was afflicting them so suddenly and severely.

With no clear solution in sight or even an inkling of what might be causing their torment, she could only observe them closely, channeling the best healing energies she could muster from the vibrant nature surrounding her courtyard, the warm glow of restorative magic flowing from her palms like gentle streams of light.

After several agonizing hours that stretched like an eternity under the canopy of rustling leaves, Astral and the space clone finally regained themselves, slowly rising to their feet with shaky movements, their bodies still humming from the residual pain.

"Took you guys so long. What in the world happened?" the elf queen asked, her voice a mix of concern and impatience, as she stepped closer, her elegant robes whispering against the soft grass.

She had waited patiently for the duo throughout the ordeal, never once leaving their side, her presence a steadfast anchor amid the chaos that had disrupted the peaceful bustle of her realm.

"Just a little discomfort, that’s all," Astral replied casually, brushing it off like it was nothing more than a minor inconvenience, though his voice carried a faint edge of strain as he straightened his posture.

"Hmm? You both seem different. The eyes of both of you... they feel different. You both look stronger too," the elf queen noticed, her sharp elven senses picking up on the subtle shift in their auras, a newfound intensity radiating from them like an invisible wave.

Out of pure reflex, she reached for her bow, her fingers brushing the smooth, enchanted wood, feeling threatened by the overwhelming pressure now emanating from the duo, a palpable force that thickened the air around them.

"No need to have your guard up. We are not going to fight you; we are not enemies," the space clone reassured her gently, his tone soothing as he raised his hands in a gesture of peace, trying to diffuse the rising tension in the verdant enclosure.

"Speak for only yourself," Astral said with a humph, crossing his arms defiantly, his expression one of lingering irritation that cast a shadow over his features.

"Now, back to our previous conversation before that bothersome break. Showing you will be better," the space clone muttered under his breath, his focus sharpening as he began to forcefully bend the fabric of space, ripples of ethereal energy distorting the air like heat waves rising from a flame.

The elf queen instinctively tried to counter the forceful action of the space clone, her muscles tensing as she prepared to intervene, but Astral stepped in just in time, foiling her efforts before she could even complete the motion.

She had already prepared to fire an arrow swiftly, her hand inching toward her quiver to stop the space clone’s manipulation, the bowstring humming faintly with anticipation.

But with his newly acquired mystic eyes, Astral had already foreseen the subtle twitch of her muscles, the telltale signs of her impending attack playing out in his enhanced vision like a preordained script.

Armed with that prescient knowledge, he cast a spell to destabilize her, a quick weave of magic that sent a disorienting pulse through her body, causing her limbs to falter momentarily amid the swirling energies.

Thanks to his timely aid, the space clone succeeded in forcefully pulling the elf queen into the sanctuary, the transition happening in a blur of shifting dimensions that left a faint echo in the air.

"You should stop resisting; we are here," the space clone tried to ease the mind of the elf queen, his voice calm and reassuring as they materialized in the new realm, though his words carried a hint of exasperation.

But his attempt did barely any good; Lisa was still very pissed about being forcefully teleported, her face flushed with anger, her eyes blazing like emeralds caught in sunlight as she adjusted to the unfamiliar surroundings.

In a flash of fury, she drew an arrow from her quiver, nocking it to her bow with practiced precision, ready to fire it straight toward Astral, the tip glowing with latent power.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn’t kill you both for what you did," Lisa demanded, her voice sharp and unwavering, the bowstring drawn taut, vibrating with restrained energy.

"One. You can’t kill me. Two, you won’t be able to escape without us. And three, you won’t be strong enough to even attempt to take my life," Astral cautioned coolly, mana swirling around him in a vortex of shimmering blue hues, the raw power crackling like distant thunder.

Lisa’s hands trembled slightly, her grip on the bow faltering as she took in the immense amount of mana swirling around Astral, a torrent that filled the space with an electric hum, far surpassing anything she had witnessed before.

It dwarfed the amount of mana she could control even on her best days, when her connection to nature’s essence was at its peak, leaving her momentarily awestruck by the sheer magnitude.

"How is this possible? You weren’t able to control this much mana the last time we clashed," Lisa asked in surprise, her voice laced with genuine astonishment, slowly lowering her bow as curiosity overrode her anger.

"Because we are home, Lisa. And by home, I mean an entirely different space from the one you’ve known, like the space outside your universe," the space clone informed her, a gleam lighting up his face, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

He explained passionately, his gestures animated like a nerd delving into his favorite topic, waving his hands to illustrate the vast concepts, his enthusiasm infectious in the ethereal glow of the sanctuary.

"What are you talking about? You guys aren’t from this universe?" Lisa asked in confusion, her head tilting slightly, brows knitting together as she tried to process the revelation, the unfamiliar environment around her adding to her disorientation.

"God, is she so slow? I will leave you to educate her; I’m off to devour the galaxy. Our main clone wants us to increase our pace," Astral informed the space clone impatiently, his tone dripping with exasperation, already turning away as if the matter was settled.

"Huh? Without me, you won’t be able to merge the galaxy," the space clone asked in confusion, his ethereal form flickering with surprise, stepping forward as if to halt Astral’s departure.

"I have been given access to control space, so I won’t be needing you," Astral informed him matter-of-factly, his voice steady, the mystic eyes in his gaze reflecting a newfound confidence that seemed unshakeable.

"That doesn’t make sense. Multitasking will greatly diminish your strength and how well you control space," the space clone protested further, his concern evident in the furrow of his brow, gesturing emphatically in the sanctuary’s ambient light.

"No need to worry about that. With the mystic eyes, it should be far easier," Astral assured him, dismissing the worry with a casual wave, then opening a rift in space with a effortless gesture, the portal shimmering like a tear in reality as he stepped through and left the sanctuary behind.

"Alright. Where were we?" the space clone directed his question to Lisa, turning back to her with a patient smile, ready to resume the explanation amid the serene, otherworldly atmosphere.
