Chapter 554: NOT SMART ENOUGH

Chapter 554: NOT SMART ENOUGH

Aaron stared at Ego, his gaze sharp and unyielding. A quiet anger simmered deep within him, tightening every muscle as he held his ground.

"So? How’s it going to be?" Aegon asked, his voice smooth and mocking while he controlled Ego’s body with effortless command.

"By killing you," Aaron replied calmly, his words steady and ice-cold.

"Why don’t you try?" Aegon challenged, a faint smirk curling on Ego’s lips.

In the next moment, Aaron exploded into action.

He surged forward with blinding speed, vanishing from sight and reappearing directly behind Ego in a rush of displaced air. The movement was so fast it left faint ripples in the space around them.

Ego was nothing more than a clone, and a clone was fundamentally weaker than the original in every way. Aaron had made certain of that fact long before the fight began.

Drawing on that same overwhelming speed once more, Aaron shifted and appeared right in front of Ego, launching a fierce strike aimed straight at his core.

But Aegon countered with perfect precision. He blocked the attack cleanly, as though he had foreseen the exact angle and timing.

"Do you know what happens when you can view things perfectly?" Aegon asked, his tone carrying a calm, almost lecturing edge. "When nothing can ever move too fast for you to see? When you possess a brain as sharp as mine... it opens up endless possibilities."

With flawless execution, Aegon dodged Aaron’s next assault.

He simply moved an instant before the strike even began.

It was a perfectly timed, well-executed evasion, made possible only by his superior processing power that calculated every microsecond.

"You need to be smart, Aaron," Aegon continued calmly. "Smart enough to use your mystic organs efficiently."

He swung his hand toward Aaron, aiming for a heavy blow. At first the motion looked slow enough for Aaron to react, especially with his mystic eyes tracking every detail in crisp clarity.

But abruptly, at a fraction of a fraction of a second, Aegon altered the trajectory of his attack. Aaron’s eyes could still process the sudden change, yet his brain lagged behind, unable to send commands in time.

In the end, his body fell back on a reflexive, involuntary defense. That very pattern was instantly seen through by Aegon. With cold accuracy, he landed a clean hit on Aaron, sending him flying backward across the ground in a tumbling arc.

"This body isn’t strong enough to withstand the might of my brain, it seems," Aegon muttered, staring down at Ego’s badly damaged hand.

The attack had been far too fast for Ego’s physical form to endure, leaving visible cracks and torn flesh in its wake.

"Oh well... little setback," Aegon murmured. The injured hand began healing instantly, the torn skin knitting itself back together in mere seconds under his control.

"Aegon!!!!!" Aaron roared, his voice thick with boiling rage. He rushed forward once more, fury radiating from every powerful stride.

In an instant, he summoned molten pillars.

Burning columns of rock erupted violently from the ground, glowing with intense, searing heat as they shot upward.

They grew rapidly, stretching tall until they loomed high enough to reach Aegon.

The four massive pillars closed in from different directions, with Aegon trapped at the center, threatening to crush him in a blazing embrace.

"Ridiculous move, Aaron," Aegon said, his tone almost pitying. "Do not look down on the mystic eyes!"

His eyes suddenly flared with a brilliant burst of light.

The moment they did, he instantaneously analyzed everything about the molten pillars, their exact construction, the way they functioned, every hidden weakness woven into their fiery structure.

"Crumble before my sight," Aegon commanded calmly.

And just as the words left his lips, the towering pillars began to crumble apart, collapsing into useless rubble with a thunderous crash.

Aaron stared ahead, his body still aching from the previous clash, when Aegon’s voice cut through the tension once more.

"Lesson two, Aaron," Aegon said with a confident smile spreading across Ego’s face. "On the true might of the mystic eyes. You can copy others’ abilities, make them yours, and perfect them beyond their original limits."

"Molten pillars!" he called out calmly, almost casually.

Aaron’s eyes widened in shock as the familiar burning pillars erupted around him instantly. They solidified in a heartbeat, slamming inward with crushing force before he could even twitch a muscle. The heat seared his skin, and the pressure ground against his bones like an iron vice.

Once again, it was a perfectly calculated strike that left Aaron’s mystic eyes almost useless. His enhanced vision captured every detail in slow motion, the glowing rock forming, the intense heat radiating outward, yet his body simply could not keep pace.

"The molten pillars, drawn from the Primordial Terra Ignis," Aegon continued, his tone laced with lecture-like superiority. "Why summon them from the ground and waste precious seconds, stripping away any element of surprise?"

He paused briefly, watching the scene unfold with cold satisfaction.

"An increase in temperature is mostly synonymous with increased velocity for molecules," Aegon lectured smoothly. "So make use of it properly."

He waited patiently as the rocky pillars finally dissolved into nothing, revealing Aaron once more.

Aaron stood visible now, several bones clearly broken from the brutal compression. Pain flared hot through his frame, but he regenerated in an instant, his body knitting itself back to perfect condition with a faint glow.

"You don’t understand your abilities, Aaron!" Aegon roared, suddenly appearing directly in front of him. "You just use them blindly!"

Just like before, he bypassed the effectiveness of Aaron’s mystic eyes entirely. His fist connected squarely with Aaron’s cheek in a sharp, resounding crack that echoed through the air.

An uppercut followed immediately, snapping Aaron’s head back, then a powerful roundhouse kick slammed into his side, sending fresh waves of agony rippling through him.

"You are nothing more than a spoiled brat," Aegon sneered, appearing before Aaron yet again with effortless speed. "Handed immense power that you cannot use efficiently."

"Shut up!" Aaron roared, fury boiling over as he unleashed a devastating blast of souls.
