Chapter 572: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE
Chapter 572: ALTERNATE UNIVERSE
"Rooooarrrrr!!!"
The deafening roar echoed across the void like thunder from an ancient storm.
Triple A was hurled backward like a helpless projectile, slamming through one dead star after another in a trail of shattered cosmic rock.
A single, powerful tail whip had sent him flying.
"Now, isn’t my luck so good?" Aaron muttered, his face calm and composed as he stared straight at Aetherion.
Behind him loomed a humongous dragon, its sheer size dominating the empty space around them.
Its scales gleamed with an obsidian black sheen, dark and menacing, as if promising to swallow everything in its sight.
Golden eyes burned with regal authority, sharp and unyielding.
An oppressive, heavy aura radiated from the dragon, pressing down on the surroundings like an invisible weight.
[Congratulations! You have received the Primordial rank pet, Abyssal Dragon.]
Aetherion stayed completely silent, his gaze fixed quietly on the massive creature.
He could sense its power clearly.
It wasn’t merely equal to his own strength — it was noticeably stronger.
"Why would a dignified being such as you stand behind him like a mere servant?" Aetherion asked, unable to hide his genuine confusion.
"Give up," Aaron said casually to Aetherion. "He is immune to talk-no-jutsu."
"Once more, you surprise me Aaron. To get the allegiance of a Primordial being is beyond impressive," Aetherion praised.
"So? Are you still going to fight?" Aaron asked, his voice steady but laced with growing confidence thanks to his new ally. "Or are you going to give up?"
"If you want, you can still get your spot back," he added, offering one final chance.
"It’s alright," Aetherion replied coldly. "Enjoy your little win while you can. But Aaron, the moment you step into the Primordial realm, you will have to make a choice. Join us... or die."
"Sure," Aaron said, his tone turning sharp and resolute.
"I’m not forgiving you for trying to kill me, Aetherion. When I reach the Primordial realm, I’ll nullify our contract and kill you with my own hands."
Triple A reappeared smoothly beside Aetherion.
Without another word, the two of them vanished from sight, returning to the Primordial realm.
The Abyssal Dragon, seeing that the fight had ended, dissolved into a swirling shadow.
It merged seamlessly back into Aaron’s body, disappearing without a trace.
"Great. Another arrogant dragon," Aaron muttered under his breath.
"Flameborn is the only good one. Guess it’s a parenting issue."
He had already devoured ten entire multiverses. "I should head to another multiverse to keep going," he added quietly.
With a casual wave of his hand, Aaron opened a shimmering rift in space.
He stepped through it and emerged onto a new world within a different multiverse.
Boom!
The sound of clashing powers exploded around him. Aaron had appeared right in the middle of an intense battle.
He stretched out both hands, effortlessly catching and holding the full force of two separate attacks aimed at each other.
"You guys should watch out for innocent strangers," Aaron scolded them lightly.
Then his eyes widened in shock.
"Huh? Alice? Michael? What are you two doing here?" he asked, genuine surprise filling his voice.
"Who are you? And above all, how are you able to hold us back like this?" the man who looked exactly like Michael demanded.
Lightning and flames flared wildly around him as he pushed his power to its absolute maximum.
"Chill out," Aaron said calmly. "I guess you aren’t the real Michael. He couldn’t possibly be this weak."
He opened his mouth and blew out a gentle puff of air, as if extinguishing a simple candle flame.
In that instant, the man’s roaring flames and crackling lightning vanished completely.
"You... How?" Michael asked in utter shock, stumbling back a step.
Alice, or at least the woman who looked just like her, panicked.
She assumed Aaron was a dangerous assassin and quickly pulled back her hand.
She threw a full-powered kill punch straight at him.
Her fist connected with Aaron’s body, but the result was nothing like she expected.
A sharp crack echoed as her hand broke from the brutal recoil of the impact.
"He is a dangerous threat! Michael, protect our baby!" Alice shouted, retreating quickly.
"Huh? Baby??" Aaron muttered, his surprise deepening.
He stood there staring at the two of them in complete disbelief.
"This cannot be happening," Aaron growled under his breath. "Temporal Lock!"
With a single commanding word, he froze time across the entire universe.
Everything — the drifting dust in the air, the flickering light from distant stars, even the very breath in every living being’s lungs — came to a complete, silent halt.
Time-stepping with effortless grace, Aaron appeared directly at the great river of time.
While the universe remained locked in perfect stillness, he browsed through its endless, flowing currents, searching for the answers he needed.
"Tch. An alternate universe," Aaron clicked his tongue in clear annoyance once he found what he was looking for.
He time-stepped again and reappeared right in front of the frozen figures of Michael and Alice.
Quickly scanning the quiet house, he spotted the baby resting peacefully in its crib. Aaron reached out and gently lifted the child, still perfectly frozen in time, into his hands.
"This is so awkward and weird," he muttered, a sour twist forming on his face. "It almost feels like being cheated on." He already hated everything about this alternate universe.
Snapping his fingers once, he allowed time to resume its normal flow.
"My baby!" Alice cried out in pure shock, her eyes widening in horror as she saw her child cradled in Aaron’s arms.
"Move one step and I will obliterate you," Aaron warned coldly, his voice carrying an unmistakable edge of finality.
The words made Alice shiver instinctively. She took a cautious step backward, fear flashing across her features.
"That’s good," Aaron said. "Now, why couldn’t I find myself in this world?" he asked, his tone sharp with curiosity.
His question caused Michael and Alice to exchange a quick, confused glance.
"You know what? Forget it," Aaron muttered, waving the matter aside.
With a gentle gust of controlled gale force, he sent the baby floating safely back into Alice’s waiting arms.
Alice caught her child and cradled him tightly, checking every inch of the infant with worried eyes, half-expecting some hidden injury.
"I’m not that kind of monster," Aaron muttered, swiping his hand lazily through the air.
