While Benson was sulking on the ground, he suddenly received a message notification.

’Which bastard wants to taunt me again?’ Benson’s complexion darkened as he was very familiar with this sort of sound. Ever since he was sidelined, there were many "concerning" members in the guild that asked about his condition.

They all tried to sound friendly, but Benson knew they were all jeering at him and wondering if he was still in the guild.

After all, the moment he was no longer a Vanguard Guild member, there would be a vacant hotel room for them to rent. Every elite member was granted the privilege to rent a hotel room in advance at a discounted price.

Just when he was about to block the message sender, his fingers suddenly paused midair.

’It’s the Guild Captain.’ Agitated, Benson hurriedly got up from the ground and jumped up in the air.

The Guild Captain was none other than Veronica. She was also the sole person who could alter his current plight with a single command.

Moreover, those who tried to bully or sneer at him would swiftly change their tone in an instant.

Who would dare to provoke Veronica?

Many members of the guild were respectful and fearful of the Guild Leader, but toward the Guild Captain, there was only reverence. After all, most of the guild’s affair was administered by Veronica and she had the complete trust of the Guild Leader.

As Benson opened the message to read what the content was, his eyes started to drop some tears.

"The Guild Captain entrusted me with such a big mission." He clenched his fist and swore to complete the mission flawlessly. This was the chance that he had been waiting for.

Without hesitation, Benson left the area and prepared himself to disguise and infiltrate the enemy’s base to investigate their wicked designs toward their Haven Wind Town.

Back at the town hall, Veronica dismissed Lightning Blade right after sending a message to Benson filled with instructions.

’Since Benson is desperate now, he is the best man for the job to do the dirty work.’ Veronica truly thought she had been enlightened by Xu Feng. She had become efficient in utilizing people’s emotions to accomplish her objective.

Sometime later, Veronica contacted Carmen and informed her of the situation.

In any case, Carmen was already known to be the type to eliminate anyone suspicious. Thus, it wasn’t weird for her to unleash a large killing spree against a group of unidentified players.

This was also why Carmen’s whereabouts were constantly unknown to everyone but the Guild Leader. By staying under the radar, nobody could anticipate or expect when she would appear.

Those who got caught by her could only blame their horrendous luck and pray for better luck next time.

While the elitists in the guild got to work, their Guild Leader was also exerting their full energy.

Phantasm Sea

At the Phantasm Sea, Xu Feng finally witnessed the horror of the sea and understood why no warships were present.

It was still fine when the warship was near the dock, but once it got further from it, the sea monsters unleashed their full terror.

"How long are they going to chase me for?" Xu Feng frowned. He glanced at the warship’s radar which was filled with more red dots than before. He had been on the run since his exit in the dungeon, but these sea monsters didn’t seem to have any range limit.

They were all unintelligent monsters, so by theory, they should have given up after failing to catch him.

"Could they be attracted to something?" It was hard for Xu Feng to not be suspicious of this factor. Soon, his eyes shifted to the dormant Burpe.

"It can’t be you, right?" He flashed a bittersweet smile. This was the only explanation for why the sea monsters would be so triggered and chase him for so long.

After all, he entered the dungeon with nothing and exited with Burpe alongside. With only Burpe as the newest variable in the equation, his suspicion was logical and not biased.

However, even if he confirmed the cause was from Burpe, Xu Feng had no intention of abandoning them. Burpe had done him a great service, and he was not like the Reaver Guild who would abandon a loyalist.

Maybe because of this, luck seemed to be coming to his side.

His eyes were flashbanged by something illuminating from afar. He had to forcefully shut his eyes to avoid the glaring light.

"What was that flashing light?" Xu Feng knitted his brows and wondered curiously. The flashbang occurred in front of him but once the warship sailed for a bit more, the light disappeared as fast as it had appeared.

However, he noticed the red dots in the radar were slowly retreating, almost as if they had sensed their natural predator and fled in a panic.

Dumbfounded, Xu Feng was curious and angled the hydro cannons to shoot at the retreating sea monsters.

"You chased me for so long and want to flee without suffering anything?" He sneered coldly.

His sinister grin would easily make others lose sympathy for him and hope for his downfall.

BOOM!

As numerous shots were fired, the sea monsters still didn’t react and continued to flee at a high speed.

Seeing this situation, Xu Feng confirmed that there must be something here that prevented them from raising any hostility.

"Looks like they really aren’t coming here." He softly muttered.

"That’s because of the tide beacon in this vicinity, Sea Traveler."

Suddenly, a voice echoed from above, startling Xu Feng on the spot.

After all, the warship’s detection tool didn’t capture anyone within the vicinity.

But what caught his attention was the term tide beacon.

’Is this the Abyssal Tide Beacon?’ Xu Feng wondered silently.
