Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1097: Guild Commander Luther

Chapter 1097: Guild Commander Luther

As the speedboat approached them at a rapid pace, Veronica asked, "Should we fire our cannons at them?"

"We can, but what’s the point in eliminating them right away?" Xu Feng laughed coldly. "Didn’t they humiliate the Vanguard Guild with sheer numbers and keep updating their kill list on the Game Forum?"

When Veronica was once again reminded of the kill list post, her expression quickly darkened. Nothing was more humiliating and infuriating than that kind of method.

It was not just disrespect, but a blatant disregard for their presence.

"They are a disgusting group of people." Veronica hissed coldly. What sort of self-proclaimed neutrality was this when they continuously silenced and hammered any potential competitors?

Prior to clashing with the Miracle Pavilion, she had thought they were a reputed organization.

Alas, reality had proven how wrong she was in her judgment.

Sometime later, the speedboat turned down its knots and stopped just a few meters away from Xu Feng’s warship.

In the speedboat, there were only three people present. One was the NPC sailor, and the remaining two wore the Miracle Pavilion’s unique emblem.

Standing at the edge of the railing was none other than Luther, a Swordsman Class and Guild Commander for the Miracle Pavilion.

"I believe this is our first meeting, right, Mr. Eclipse Nova?" Luther cupped his fist and greeted.

"Sure is," Xu Feng nodded and wasn’t surprised that Luther recognized him.

He purposely donned the same attire he had from the previous time, albeit with different gear. If someone in Luther’s position couldn’t even identify him, then he would have suspected the Miracle Pavilion was a fake.

Upon hearing Xu Feng acknowledging his greeting, Luther’s eyes hovered on the warship. Although his expression remained indifferent, his internal emotions were going haywire.

’A warship at this stage? Just what kind of things did he go through?’ Luther was already having a headache dealing with the Vanguard Guild Leader, despite the latter being absent. Yet now came the big boss, and the first thing they did after showing up was cut off their supply chains in one fell swoop.

His inbox was also bombarded by the higher-ups about their contracts with the NPC shipyard being canceled. As if that wasn’t enough damage, those NPCs even demanded compensation for physical and emotional damage sustained during this farce.

After all, Eclipse Nova was ruthless enough to repeatedly emphasize it was their guild that caused them to be targeted.

Under such circumstances, even their guild would have done the same and sought compensation from the main culprit.

"I didn’t know we would alert Mr. Eclipse Nova to take action. Why don’t we call it a truce?" Luther suggested.

Almost immediately, Xu Feng didn’t even need to speak up when the other Vanguard Guild elites nearby started to shout and curse.

"Call it a truce?"

"You must be dreaming!"

"Why didn’t I see you calling it a truce when you made that humiliating game forum post?"

At the peak of their curses, Xu Feng slowly raised his right hand up to gesture to them to quiet down. Needless to say, his slow movement made it clear that he was pleased to hear them scolding Luther and the Miracle Pavilion.

Luther suppressed his internal emotion and forcefully flashed a smile. "I admit that the underlings went overboard with their deeds. How about this? Our Miracle Pavilion is willing to compensate for the losses incurred by the Vanguard Guild."

Behind him was Steve, who seemed to be startled by the statement.

"Commander—" Steve tried to advise against the decision, but was quickly met with Luther’s fierce gaze.

"Do you think compensating them would result in a greater loss than losing our supply chains?" Luther hissed in a very low tone. "Without the supply chain, we can forget about worrying about Jeanette’s production. We’ll have to worry about losing our influence and monopolization."

Steve pursed his mouth silently in response. What Luther said was correct. The damage done by Eclipse Nova had truly cut straight to their core.

Despite having guards stationed everywhere to prevent any unexpected attacks, they were still taken off guard.

How could they possibly station anyone around the sea when they could barely get a contract established with the NPC’s shipyards?

"I reckon you must be the Guild Commander Luther of Miracle Pavilion, right. You’ve heard the Vanguard Guild members’ response." Xu Feng calmly said and pointed at one of them.

"You, come here and tell me if you wish to be compensated."

The person who got pointed at was none other than Kailey.

Kailey stepped forward and locked eye contact with Luther. Xu Feng’s words earlier weren’t directed to Luther. Instead, it was directed to her and the rest of her fellow guildmates so that they understood who the people in front of them were.

Without a doubt, Xu Feng was testing their resolve and determination as to whether they wished to pursue revenge or accept the compensation package.

As she hesitated to make a choice, Xu Feng lightly said, "There’s no need to be concerned about what others believe. Tell me what you want from the bottom of your heart. I don’t like it when people make decisions not for themselves and then regret it later on."

When Kailey heard the words, she suddenly flashed a rare smile. All the hesitation and concern that was running through her mind was expelled.

She then stepped forward and shouted thunderously. "I refuse to accept your fake compensation package!"

"Woo, that’s our beautiful Gun Knight!"

"Hmph, to hell with the Miracle Pavilion and their trash attempt to resolve the grudges!"

"They wanted to end the matter when they realized we’re not all bark? How funny! They can suffer!"

Almost immediately, Luther’s face twisted in an ugly expression. He ignored the jeering comments from those so-called elites and stared at Xu Feng.

"Is this your final decision, Mr. Eclipse Nova?" He asked solemnly. Out of everyone present, only Eclipse Nova was qualified to converse with him. He didn’t even bat an eyelid at anyone else.

"Well, what can I say? They called me boss, and for a boss to go against the majority’s wishes. That’s only the motto of big companies that have no empathy." Xu Feng said and gestured with his finger, signaling to fire the cannons.
