Chapter 1096: Speedboat
Chapter 1096: Speedboat
Shortly after the captain completely gave up every cargo that belonged to the Miracle Pavilion, the former asked, "Can we leave now?"
Xu Feng didn’t reply right away. Instead, he gestured for Dark Night to enter their cargo ship to give a thorough check.
When the crewmates in the cargo ship saw the action, they all stood perfectly still. They didn’t dare to stop or make any moves because Xu Feng’s warship cannons were still aiming at them.
Just one small mishap or any funny business, and these cannons would blast straight at them.
As if they would care about some cargo over their lives. Not to mention, they were still infuriated by the fact that the cargo they were shipping had offended pirates.
Didn’t they know the sea laws?
Never offend the pirates!
Pirates are ruthless and merciless. They were also extremely elusive and difficult to defeat.
Facing pirates was a dreadful experience, especially when you had already paid the protection fees.
Sometime later, Dark Night returned to the warship and nodded his head.
"They didn’t do any foul play. All cargo belonging to the Miracle Pavilion has been obtained." He reported.
"Good, it seems like you folks are clever. But then again, still not clever enough when you decided to work with the Miracle Pavilion." Xu Feng laughed coldly.
His gaze soon shifted to the captain, and he kindly warned. "Since you are honest, I shall be generous for once. It’s best to cut ties with the Miracle Pavilion because they didn’t just mess with my crew alone, but others as well. I reckon it wouldn’t be long before many of your cargo ships get hit."
Almost immediately, the captain’s face dropped. He was on the verge of exploding in anger when he heard Xu Feng’s generous warning.
’Those bastards really want to drag us down, eh?’ The captain had long been dissatisfied with the Miracle Pavilion’s repeated bargaining and negotiation of the pricing.
Now that dissatisfaction had intensified because of this particular incident, which caused them to incur more losses than gains.
"Alright, save your expression for someone who would care. You have 3 minutes to leave the vicinity, otherwise, I’ll take it as you are trying to oppose us." Xu Feng yelled in an impolite manner.
To keep up his act as a pirate, he naturally needed to act arrogant and beyond reason.
Sure enough, the acting was Oscar-worthy when the captain swiftly rushed back to the control room and sailed the ship away.
"I bet the Miracle Pavilion’s days are going to be hellish," Veronica whispered softly. Her eyes were full of admiration as she understood Xu Feng’s action and words were targeted to cut off Miracle Pavilion’s money tree permanently.
Her admiration also stemmed from the fact that nobody else knew about his Eclipse Nova identity except for Carmen.
And Carmen was one tight-lipped woman who had not once revealed her findings to anyone.
"I’ve taught you about the warship’s control earlier. Do you think you can manage it without me?" Xu Feng asked.
Veronica was initially taken aback by the question. But she soon understood that Eclipse Nova couldn’t possibly be the one constantly commanding the warship.
Maybe this would just be like the previous incident where he showed up briefly before disappearing.
’I wondered how the boss trained.’ When she first met him, she already sensed a profound aura surrounding him.
And in their second meeting, that aura seemed to have intensified. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that his presence seemed more lethal than Carmen herself.
"Hmm, have you learned it or do you still need more guidance?" Xu Feng asked again when he didn’t receive a reply or gesture from her.
Veronica quickly snapped out of her daze and nodded. "Yes, I’ve learned it."
"Good, then you’ll be the temporary owner of this warship until the lad returns from his mission."
"O-Owner?"
"Mhmm, your Guild Leader is occupied, and your two Guild Commanders are like headless chickens. Giving them the warship would just be handing it over to someone who cannot utilize its full potential." Xu Feng had long intended to lend the warship to Veronica’s hands.
As for returning the warship to Handsome Chao, the latter didn’t even specify a return date.
Moreover, he doubted Handsome Chao would be bothered about a silver-ranked warship when it was quite obvious he had many more high-quality warships. On the off-chance that he did request it back, he might as well say it broke down.
’Handsome Chao shouldn’t be mad since I gave him so many items sourced from the Phantasm Sea.’ He thought to himself.
While Xu Feng had already planned to take the warship away, another ship started to emerge near the docks of the Dragon Sea.
"Boss, we have a ship sailing in our direction!" Blue Star, who was responsible for the surrounding areas, called out in alarm.
The members were soon alerted by the notice and began to use their binoculars to check the situation. Some of them in charge of the cannons were already ready to change the angle of trajectory. But still, they didn’t dare to act without specific instructions from Eclipse Nova.
Meanwhile, Veronica’s face darkened slightly.
"Boss, could it be the authorities coming at us?" She inquired.
If it was indeed the authorities, then it was most definitely the Miracle Pavilion reporting them. After all, the NPCs they encountered were all threatened and frightened to death.
In response, Xu Feng simply chuckled amusingly. "The authorities? I do wish the authorities would come over and taste some of our cannons. Unfortunately, it isn’t."
Hearing that confident tone, Veronica was confused.
Who else could it be then?
"It’s the people from Miracle Pavilion, or more specifically, their eagerness in hoping to stop us." Xu Feng calmly said. As the owner of the warship and having dealt with the Phantasm Sea, he didn’t even need the binoculars to perceive the distance from afar. The ship approaching them wasn’t cargo or any type. It only had speed, with little to no defense and zero offense.
In fact, it couldn’t even be called a ship but rather a boat, a low-ranked speedboat.
