Chapter 1126: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 1
Chapter 1126: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 1
A few minutes had gone by since Xu Feng’s cryptic message.
The flames of war outside the town were in full force, with Luther’s group of players finally entering the fray.
Upon seeing them emerge, Carmen turned her attention to Xu Feng. Needless to say, she was requesting permission to make a move.
Unfortunately for her, Xu Feng shook his head once again.
"Why can’t I join?" Carmen complained in a frustrated tone. She had brute-forced the mysterious ruin that she had stumbled across to make her way back for the siege.
She had planned on contributing the most, but who could have thought that the person who hindered her wasn’t some ruin or enemies.
Instead, it was her very own Guild Leader, who had repeatedly told her to stay put!
How could she not become frustrated under such conditions?
"Have you seen anyone using their trump card right away?" Xu Feng explained.
"You are our guild’s strongest DPS player! Why should you lower yourself to deal with some flies?"
Although the explanation made a lot of points, Carmen still couldn’t help herself. She wanted to test out her new skills, especially when she had made a huge leap in combat power.
"Guild Leader... I actually have something to say." Unwilling to be placed in the back, Carmen decided to forget about the surprise she had been saving.
She hurriedly dragged him to the discreet area—the same one in which Xu Feng had conversed with Kailey just earlier.
However, to add more security measures, Carmen proceeded to cast a sound barrier and multiple more formations.
As if that wasn’t enough, she even summoned her Elementalists to block off the perimeter.
"What is it?" Xu Feng tilted his head slightly and inquired.
Because of the guild’s siege token activated by Luther, all messages were disabled.
The town’s Teleport Platform was also affected, and players were required to leave the range of the siege token to be able to teleport away.
Carmen glanced left and right before inquiring, "Is your heart condition okay?"
"..."
If it weren’t for the fact that the person who asked the question was Carmen, then Xu Feng had a reason to believe they were trying to mess with him.
"My heart and body are very healthy." He answered calmly.
"Okay, good." Carmen patted her chest and heaved a sigh of relief. "Actually, I have reached Tier 2 accidentally after following Librarian Griselda on some expedition."
THUD!
As if a thunderbolt had just struck directly on Xu Feng, his face expressed many different types of emotions all at once. His pupils constricted, clearly unable to believe what he had just heard.
His reaction took Carmen by complete surprise because she had never seen him react so much throughout their interactions.
Nevertheless, she felt a little bit giddy once she realized there was indeed something that could cause him to lose his composure.
’Phew, maybe I should have kept the secret a tad longer.’ She began to wonder what would have happened if he had figured it out during the battle.
After all, once she made a move. Those with keen perspectives would know her attributes didn’t match those of a Tier 1.
"You’ve reached level 70?" Xu Feng asked with a disbelief tone. He had thought he was about to surpass her in levels.
"I’m still around the level 60s," Carmen shook her head in response. "My hidden class enabled me to bypass the level restriction. Librarian Griselda was also pleased with my recent achievement and improvement."
At this moment, Xu Feng was wondering where his Librarian’s carry was!
’She’s really the protagonist.’ That was all he could think of.
While their conversation was kind of demotivating for Xu Feng, the battle outside had escalated.
"Charge straight ahead and target the ballistic missile! They could only fire once every 30 seconds, so keep track of the time." Luther declared solemnly. He raised his weapon and pointed straight at the tall walls.
’So what if that bitch retreated? So what if you have a ballistic missile? Can you tackle over 5,000 players?’ He sneered inwardly.
5,000 players sounded like an exaggeration on the surface. But it really wasn’t in reality. With the current player count, it was even plausible to reach over 20,000 players for a guild’s movement.
"Follow Commander Luther’s command!"
"Down with their ballistic missile!"
Soon, the players from Luther’s side turned crazy with excitement. They had been waiting for the signal for a while already to charge ahead.
Colorful rainbows of spells were thrown in all sorts of directions.
In the blink of an eye, the Vanguard Guild’s side suffered hundreds of deaths from the sudden offensive strikes.
Naturally, those who died were the greedy folks unrelated to the Vanguard Guild. They were so hyper-focused on kill stealing and trying to accumulate the highest contribution points at low effort.
"What a bunch of fools!" Dark Night snorted and shook his head. He had zero sympathy for those fools who got blasted.
"Should we commence the second phase of the plan now, Leader?" Cade asked. In the meantime, he fired his own respective spells to deflect some of the enemies.
Dark Night didn’t respond right away. Instead, he turned around and glanced at the tall wall.
’The Guild Leader didn’t signal for the next phase.’ Since there was no signal, it meant that the situation had yet to escalate to a grim situation.
"No need, we’ll continue to hold the defense line here." Dark Night instructed and relayed the commands to the collective Vanguard Guild elites.
As for the non-guild members who only stood around for the benefit, Dark Night couldn’t be bothered with them.
Both parties had their own objectives, and it wasn’t like the Vanguard Guild owed them anything.
While the casualties continued to soar to a new height, Xu Feng gazed at the battlefield with a calm demeanor. ’Luther finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. To think he would pull a foolish move like going all-in.’
Xu Feng reckoned he must have been pressured too much by the headquarters or the ignorant elders in the Miracle Pavilion.
