Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1127: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 2

Chapter 1127: Vanguard Guild Vs Miracle Pavilion Part 2

"Guild Leader, is it my time now?" Carmen clasped her hands, her eyes practically glittering.

Even the enemy commander had jumped into action to lead the battle!

Shouldn’t it be about time for her to join the fray as well?

Unfortunately, she underestimated Xu Feng’s insight.

"There’s no need for you to enter yet." He calmly said. So far, the casualties were rising, but only a few of them were a part of the Vanguard Guild.

The remaining deaths were all from fence sitters, essentially cannon fodder he orchestrated to exaggerate the number count.

After all, battle morale was an interesting concept. If their side believed the number count was high, then their chance of victory remained high.

However, if their side believed the number count was low and continuously dwindled, then their momentum and enthusiasm would falter.

To simplify, it was a difference of perspectives in seeing that you have a backup versus having no backup.

"Should I just leave the area then?" At this point, Carmen didn’t even feel like she should be here.

The siege had already continued for more than half an hour, but all she did was stand in place.

Sure, she got a flawless view of the battlefield, but she didn’t want to be a mere spectator.

She wanted to be a participant!

"Patience, my dear Demoness." Xu Feng said and pointed at a few discreet locations from afar. "Do you not see many people recording our fight? They all want to see if we will use you right away."

Following his pointers, Carmen narrowed her eyes to inspect closely.

A few seconds later, she spotted some silhouettes hiding in the shadows. She couldn’t exactly pinpoint who they were based on how discreetly they were positioned.

If it weren’t for Xu Feng’s reminder, then she wouldn’t have even paid attention over there.

"Why are they recording from afar?" Carmen knitted her brows. "I doubt they could even stream anything significant when they’re so far from the battlefield."

She thought they were another type of streamers similar to OneManMedia.

Ever since the latter’s immense success in streaming and an increase in popularity, many had hoped to follow in his footsteps.

They made their own livestream channel, but as one might expect, not all were successful.

What made OneManMedia so successful was the fact that his content was unique and considered a pioneer!

The viewers were fascinated and curious by the content!

This was something that most upcoming streamers failed to figure out or realized very late.

"Those people are not streaming by the way." Xu Feng suddenly corrected her. "They are all people who hail from different guilds and planes to spectate our fight. Or more specifically, they are here to check the Miracle Pavilion’s power."

"What’s there to check?" Carmen appeared visibly surprised.

"The Miracle Pavilion is only using numerical advantage and just charging without much of a plan. They still couldn’t pass a certain mark." She continued, arguing that they couldn’t even breach one of their main defense lines.

In response to her remarks, Xu Feng simply shook his head.

Unlike her, who only witnessed the surface, he knew Luther must be holding a trump card—one that could reverse the unfavorable situation.

He wouldn’t dare to underestimate him because of his repeated failures.

Even a cornered old man would still have some hidden card up their sleeve when faced with danger.

This was the main reason why he kept withholding Carmen.

And just like he had anticipated, at the battlefield, Luther noticed his people couldn’t gain much of an advantage.

’Damn it, those ballistic missiles AOE are too much!’ He gnashed his teeth in frustration. He had severely underestimated the ballistic weapon.

The explosive from the missile wasn’t even the deadliest part. Instead, it was the aftermath it had caused behind: a scorching earth.

Even if they were to avoid the burning magma, they were still affected by a scorching debuff that constantly lowered their speed and reaction speed.

Although such scorching earth also affected the Vanguard Guild’s side as well, the damage wasn’t as devastating as that of those who were trying to siege.

After all, many of the Vanguard Guild elites held the high ground and used their long-range spells and guns to their advantage.

The damage might not be much considering their heavy equipment, but the chip damage would continuously stack up.

From an initial number of around 5,000 players, only 3,900 or so remained on the battlefield, whereas the rest were forced to respawn back at Reave Town.

Traveling to return to the battlefield for them was time-consuming.

Yet on the Vanguard Guild’s side, they could simply respawn in their town, albeit with a higher cooldown rate due to the presence of the guild’s siege token.

’Must I use the card now?’ Luther was very unwilling to use this trump card of his. The price was too heavy for him to accept.

After all, the cost of usage didn’t just require coins or Mana Stones. It required precious equipment, ones that are at the Epic Rarity!

While Luther was contemplating whether to use it or not, he soon found his determination when Xu Feng finally made an announcement.

"Is this the supposed siege that was going to take over my Haven Wind Town? If that’s the case, then this is beyond pathetic and boring!"

Xu Feng made sure to amplify his voice for all to hear him. His tone was laced with disdain, completely disregarding Miracle Pavilion’s effort to set up the siege, gather the manpower, and their works in sabotaging the Vanguard Guild.

Naturally, the announcement wasn’t just for Luther’s side, but also for the spies who were busy collecting intel.

He wanted to let them know the consequences for repeatedly underestimating his guild and thinking it was a fat, juicy piece of meat for the taking.

Simultaneously, he also hoped the provocation would push Luther to reveal his trump card.

And indeed, with his pride and ego completely destroyed, Luther’s eyes turned bloodlust.

"GUILD LEADER LIN FENG! YOU’RE DEAD!"

Luther roared and retrieved a Dark Summoning Crystal.

’So that’s your trump card?’ Silent, Xu Feng didn’t expect Luther to actually possess a summoning crystal.
