Chapter 1163: Short Dramas
Chapter 1163: Short Dramas
Upon understanding Erica’s intention, Xu Feng’s eyes slowly shifted to the consumed Life Water.
"Those were the bribes you brought home, right?" He pointed at them and asked.
"Naturally." Erica nodded. "Those were all superior quality, freshly produced, and limited in quantity. Even if you have the money, you might not be able to get it."
"Hah... I just knew why they tasted so good and refreshing." Despite saying so, his mind was currently in turmoil.
His physical and mental concentration was actually in such a terrible state!
If the Life Water he consumed was the regular version he usually takes, then it might not even be enough for him to recover.
’The Phantasm Sea is really not simple.’ Xu Feng’s thoughts trailed back to the Tier 6 skill.
Sure enough, even if it was a portal transportation, being hit by a Tier 6 had caused him to suffer a lot of damage. It was a good thing he decided not to explore any further and chose to retreat.
"Anyway, the bribe has been consumed already. I doubt you would be the type to take something for granted and not give me something in return, right?" Erica inquired.
"Ah, and I meant to take something from a friend." She promptly corrected, emphasizing that she was a friend and not an enemy or a neutral party.
Her implication made it clear that she perceived him as a bastard who was the type to take advantage of others without any regard.
And as true as that may be, it still hurts a little bit to be called out in such a manner.
"Do you want my help or here to insult my character?" Xu Feng sounded annoyed.
"Both!" She smiled sweetly. "Besides, I’m already being very genuine by revealing my status to you."
Nodding, Xu Feng couldn’t refute that. If she had never revealed she was of the Winston Family, then he would have remained in the dark.
Though it was more because he respected her privacy and refrained from investigating her.
He only investigated his enemies and neutral parties, but not his friends.
Toward friends, which were extremely rare in his dictionary. He gave them unconditioned trust, until they decided to break it.
His character was questionable, and often hateful to those who weren’t close to him. But Xu Feng had not once cared about their opinions.
Why should he let others dictate how he should behave?
They weren’t his fucking parents!
Even if they were, they could rot in a corner if they thought they could control him.
Abandoning him and then expecting respect?
What a ridiculous joke!
"Very well, I’ll contact the necessary person for the message to reach our Guild Captain’s ears." Xu Feng said and retrieved his phone. After typing for a few minutes, he pretended that the message was currently being relayed.
"How long will the response take?" Erica asked.
"Around 5-10 minutes. Since I categorized the information as high priority, it would be fast."
"You can classify your message as high priority? Just how much authority do you have in the guild?"
"Haha, don’t be mistaken, I’m just a low ranked member. But the guild’s design structure allows any members to send messages to the Media Team and categorize the priority into multiple sections." He explained.
Low, Low-Mid, Mid, Mid-High, High, and Extreme priority.
Enlightened, Erica pondered whether to implement this structure into her business as well.
"Hmm, but can’t this model be abused or even misaligned?" She raised her concern.
Maybe the sender could perceive the information as high priority, but in reality, it wasn’t that high. By then, wouldn’t they have wasted their energy and time for naught?
"There’s an extensive guide on what to classify in which section. Although mistakes still occur, we wouldn’t be punished if it’s only a few times."
The punishment only occurred when it was incorrectly listed repeatedly by the same person.
Nodding in understanding, Erica requested, "Do you mind letting me copy the format? Of course, I’ll gladly purchase it at a set price."
"Hmm, you can just have it for free."
"For free? You’re not sick in the head, right?"
"..."
Sometime later, he grabbed some snacks and began watching drama with Erica.
"Hmm, the duration is only 2 mins?" He raised an eyebrow.
"It’s a short drama consisting of multiple episodes," Erica explained and reached her hand for his snack. "They go super fast and straight to the point. It’s so much better than those filler episodes of 45 minutes of yapping."
Nodding, Xu Feng decided to take the moment to relax and enjoy some episodes.
There was still time before he needed to meet up with Zhao Kai to celebrate his achievement.
"Oh my, these actresses are quite seductive." Xu Feng’s eyes widened as he watched them expose their beautiful legs. "How come I’ve never seen them before?"
He might not be lustful, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t enjoy feasting his eyes. He got quite a few actresses that he found beautiful, but their acting skills were lacking somewhat.
Yet these short drama actresses were not only beautiful, but their acting was above average.
"These actresses have just graduated from acting schools and are relatively new to the industry. They don’t get juicy, meaty roles because of a lack of connection or refusal to lose themselves." Erica explained.
What she meant in her last remark was the so-called dark entertainment. Those without a background who wanted to climb up could only sell themselves to directors or influential investors.
Behind all the glamour were often the most vile and disgusting acts.
Naturally, there was still a minority of talented actresses who didn’t need to resort to such means. Their acting skill alone made them untouchable.
"I see..." Realization dawned upon him. He recalled that the trend of short drama was rising in popularity in the past timeline.
The format itself became very profitable and a major self-advertisement for multiple products.
When Erica saw his serious expression, she became amused.
"What? Are you planning on investing in a short drama?" She asked curiously. "Or do you plan on using it as an excuse to bag some beautiful but unknown actresses?"
"That’s not a bad idea." Xu Feng nodded, thinking that he could poach some of these talented actresses before they rose in popularity to become the exclusive model or spokesperson for Vanguard Guild.
