Chapter 1260: Origin Trial 2.0 Part 5
Chapter 1260: Origin Trial 2.0 Part 5
Having successfully converted a high-ranking robot into his people, Xu Feng utilized its authority to gain access to the robot facility.
Simultaneously, he instructed them to wipe out all data on the surveillance cameras.
He couldn’t afford any moment of carelessness and allowed his whereabouts to be exposed.
By the time he entered the restricted area, Xu Feng’s eyes widened in astonishment. There were hundreds of robots being made in succession.
’The compromised Commander must have been the one behind this.’ Xu Feng reckoned that the Commander wanted to replace the humans in the Battleship Lux with robots.
After all, the robots were easier to control, and the chance of betrayal was near zero.
The only reason it hadn’t acted yet was probably because it was wary of some of the Supervisors in other Divisions.
One must remember that the entire Battleship Lux was huge, and the members were no weaklings either.
If the compromised Commander was even a little bit careless and exposed themselves, then they would be quickly restrained and detained.
The series of incidents had already incurred some suspicions from others, but because there was a lack of evidence, they remained hidden.
As for the death of other members, they couldn’t be bothered with it.
This was the reality of the Battleship Lux, which operated on competence over others.
Given that Aera was already dead, her competence had dropped to zero. Hence, nobody would involve themselves with a dead person.
"Start injecting this chip into every fresh batch of robots." Xu Feng retrieved the same virus chip that he used earlier to control it and used it for others.
Since the compromised Commander wanted to utilize these robots as his underlings, he gladly took them away from him.
To cripple the enemy’s arm while gaining a helping hand was an amazing exchange.
"I won’t be polite." He flashed a cold grin.
While Xu Feng was ready to occupy the whole robots, outside the trial, Carmen had already begun recruiting members of the Vanguard Guild.
Haven Wind Town, Town Hall
"Phew, the post has been made." Carmen stretched her fingers lazily, her body lying on the couch.
"Why did you tell them to request me to be granted a slot?" Seated at the center, Veronica’s expression darkened when she suddenly received a large number of messages.
"I don’t know many people in the guild, so I’ll have to trouble you to filter them on my behalf."
"Why can’t you ask others, such as OneManMedia?"
"Nah, he’s too nosy. If I tell him to do it, then he’ll definitely request to livestream the raid. I’m already too famous and don’t want the spotlight on me."
"..."
Speechless, Veronica endured the urge and temptation to give Carmen a fierce thrashing.
Was that the kind of words you should speak?
What do you mean by too famous?
Famous for being a laidback Guild Commander—no, Demoness?
’This Carmen is definitely corrupted by the Guild Leader. The old Carmen is long gone.’ Veronica truly regretted not playing alongside Carmen.
Had she accompanied her early on, then she wouldn’t have met Xu Feng and ended up being such a cunning person.
Her naive and innocent Carmen was no more!
Such a feeling was truly bittersweet.
"What did I even do to deserve this?" Veronica cried aloud. "Both you and the Guild Leader are inhumane. Karma will find you soon!"
"Sorry, the karma won’t come to me." Carmen shrugged and stuck her tongue out playfully. "The Guild Leader always protects me, so even if there is karma, it would be directed to him."
"Is he your licking dog?" Veronica narrowed her eyes and questioned.
"Of course not!" Carmen refused adamantly. "Licking dogs are only used when the opposing partner doesn’t care about them. I, for one, care a lot about our Guild Leader. Moreover, I’m certain he can deal with any unexpected situation."
"Hah, I can’t tell if you’re heartless or not."
Veronica shook her head and wondered if her curse would come true.
She gazed at the windows outside and wished she could also head out and breathe in some fresh air.
...
Origin Trial 2.0, Battleship Lux
Speaking of fresh air, Xu Feng was currently taking an influx of it.
"Damn it, that compromised Commander sure acted fast." He clicked his tongue as he hurriedly fled the robot facility.
Amidst his escape, numerous laser guns were fired toward his direction.
Just a few minutes ago, the infiltration was successful, but for some reason, an alarm was triggered without any warning.
It was as if someone had decided to play a prank on him and forcefully created a cliché scenario where he got caught in the end.
To avoid his disguise Mike from being exposed, Xu Feng was forced to revert to the original system’s appearance, Michael.
Given that Michael was already a wanted criminal on the battleship, he might as well reveal that persona and not Mike.
As he began his escape, multiple hologram screens began displaying a mighty figure dressed in a military uniform.
"This is Commander Anton speaking! Trainee Michael, stop your struggle and surrender yourself to the Luxion Army. There’s still a chance for you to redeem your sin!"
The speaker was none other than the Commander of the Battleship Lux, Anton.
Xu Feng ignored the announcement but still made sure to scrutinize Anton’s appearance.
’Slightly red eyes and trembling body...’ He noticed his symptoms and confirmed that Anton was indeed being controlled by someone or something.
Although the compromised Commander thought they had won by broadcasting his whereabouts, Xu Feng appreciated their arrogance.
The more arrogant one behaved, the more mistakes they were bound to create.
After all, they believed they got everything under control and that everyone else was mere ants.
Unfortunately, that was oftentimes the main cause of their downfall.
"Surrender? Apologies, but the real culprit is you for jeopardizing the life of every member in the battleship!" Xu Feng snorted coldly. He then retrieved his laser gun and shot multiple surveillance cameras.
Even though the surveillance cameras were built sturdily, the laser gun could still affect their vision and blur out the video.
