Chapter 1323: Reunion

Throughout the journey, Xu Feng had gotten an earful from Carmen.

Although there was no physical harm, the mental harm was present.

"I don’t care if you’re cunning to the enemies, but you’d better treat my friends well. Veronica was nearly on the verge of quitting when she learned of our relationship." Carmen complained.

"I understand." Xu Feng smiled bitterly. "I’ll start taking over some of her workload from now on."

"Take over what workload?"

Upon opening the door, Xu Feng heard a familiar voice coming from the living room.

"A woman?" Startled, Carmen glanced at Xu Feng with a confused expression.

As she moved to the side, she quickly spotted Erica lying down lazily by the couch. Simultaneously, Erica also spotted Carmen from afar.

One might expect gunpowder coming from them, but unfortunately, this wasn’t some soap opera.

"Carmen?" Erica widened her eyes in surprise.

"It’s really you, Erica!" Carmen exclaimed and quickly pushed Xu Feng to the side and rushed to her side. "How come you’re here?"

"That should be my question." Amused, Erica quickly handed her some snacks to eat.

"You two know each other?" Xu Feng approached them with a weird expression after closing the door.

His question was left unanswered. The two women didn’t even seem to bother with him as they immersed themselves in their own conversation.

’Looks like it’s a reunion.’ He thought to himself. Looking at the situation, it became evident that the two had a lot of things to catch up on.

Since that was the case, he might as well head to the kitchen and start cooking some food.

He reckoned they might be starving once their conversation ended.

While Xu Feng busied himself in the kitchen, Carmen sat next to Erica on the couch.

"Speak, why didn’t you reply to our group’s message?" Carmen narrowed her eyes and asked.

"I’ve lost my old phone." Erica smiled sheepishly. She ran away from home in a rush, so she didn’t have time to take anything.

Realization quickly dawned upon Carmen.

Because the old group was exclusive, there was a special requirement to enter. It didn’t even matter if one wanted to use a new phone to enter. Without the permission of at least over half of the members’ approval, they would be denied entry.

And since there are many spies or infiltrators who often wish to intrude on their safe haven, they rarely check the requesters.

Not to mention, Erica didn’t even bother to inform them of her disappearance.

"So you also ran away from home?" Carmen gasped in astonishment.

"Also?" Dumbfounded, Erica stared at her in disbelief. To think that they both decided to run away from home at almost the same time.

After a moment of silence, the two of them started laughing aloud.

"Ah, I can’t believe we both did the same thing." Erica clutched her stomach.

"I’m more surprised you were willing to rent a room out to a male," Carmen said.

"It was a mistake. I was in a hurry to earn money, so I filled out the application without double-checking."

"Oh, and so you just decided to live with Feng?"

"Nah, I didn’t live with him right away. I had him checked with the surveillance camera to determine whether he was worthy or not."

Realization quickly dawned upon Carmen.

"By the way, when did you get together with him?" Erica asked curiously.

She wasn’t a fool to not understand their relationship might be a romantic one.

For Xu Feng to bring a woman to her apartment despite the possibility of encountering her should mean that it was an official relationship.

"We got together about a week ago?" Carmen also had no intention of hiding the matter. She didn’t suspect that these two might have a thing with each other.

If that was the case, then they would have long gotten together. Moreover, she believed in Erica’s personality, as well as Xu Feng’s.

"Wow, only together for a week ago, and you already went so public." Erica was astonished. She had thought these two had been dating for way longer.

"Went so public?"

"Don’t listen to her nonsense, Carmen. Someone like her, who was glued to the television, definitely saw the two of us at the Film Festival."

Xu Feng’s voice resounded from the kitchen section.

"Eh, so that’s how you were sure about our relationship?" Startled, Carmen glanced at her with an unamused expression.

"Ahem, I didn’t know until now, alright." Erica raised her hands in surrender.

"I only saw the two of you at the same table, but that didn’t mean anything. Even close companions or friends would sit at the same table."

Upon hearing her explanation, Carmen came to realize that she was the one who had exposed herself.

"Oh well," Carmen shrugged. "I never planned to hide my relationship either. "My man is very good anyway."

Erica was rendered speechless. This was truly the first time she had seen Carmen behaving so boldly and confidently.

’Just what had she experienced after running from home?’ Erica wondered silently. Although she was close with Carmen prior to fleeing, the Carmen she knew was usually quite timid and shy.

If anyone were to tell her that the past Carmen would behave in this kind of manner, then she would have laughed at them.

Yet reality now showed it was true.

She shifted her attention to Xu Feng and flashed a bittersweet smile.

’What a pity... he got snatched away just like this.’ Erica lamented and felt a bit regretful. She hadn’t expected Xu Feng to be taken away in the snap of a finger.

Had she known, then she would have stepped forward a bit. Alas, it was too late. Such a person was taken away by her friend.

As for being a third party or a villainous woman who steals away her friend’s man, she had no intention of doing that.

"Carmen, you need to hold onto him tightly. Someone like him definitely had many women eyeing him." Erica leaned closer to her and whispered softly.
