Chapter 1503: Defense Border Part 18
Chapter 1503: Defense Border Part 18
Karoos was enraged when the pest, who had been running every single second, suddenly locked the space to trap him.
He wasn’t a fool to not understand that it was a trap all along. The trap to delay his retreat and to wait for reinforcement.
"How dare mere ants attempt to trap a Demon Lord!" Karoos screeched and shattered the restriction with an explosive demonic force.
Afterward, he planned to flap his wings to boost himself away from the scene.
Unfortunately for him, it was already way too late.
"Who gave you permission to leave?" A voice resounded and quickly shackled Karoos’ wings.
Swoosh!
Then, in front of him, Olivia appeared in a majestic robe. Her eyes were cold and fierce. "The stench of a demon who should have been banished in hell actually appears in the Divine World. Could it be that you still haven’t learned your lesson?"
Karoos’ eyes narrowed at the sight of Olivia. "You humans speak as if you were the ones who won the war. Had it not been for that entity, none of you would even be alive."
"It’s true that we didn’t win alone. But isn’t that because you demons are so hideous and disgusting that no one wants to ally with you?" Olivia sneered.
Karoos was instantly ticked off and lost the desire to retreat.
Where would he put his pride and ego if his peers knew about this situation?
"Do you think I’m afraid of you?" He roared and immediately rushed toward Olivia.
The standards used to grade a human were not the same standards used to grade a Demon Lord.
Olivia snorted coldly in response. She snapped her fingers, and large bright circles emerged behind her.
’Fuck, another annoying mage!’ Karoos was fuming at the sight of another mage caster enemy. He flapped his wings and strengthened his body.
As long as he grabbed a hold of Olivia, the battle was as good as over.
Olivia also understood the concept and made sure to force Karoos into retreat.
Sparks of their clashes resounded through the sky, causing massive destruction in the defense border.
A fierce wind even began to sweep the scene, including the place where Xu Feng and Carmen were.
"Now, can we leave?" Carmen asked.
"Yes," Xu Feng quickly nodded his head. The situation was no longer under their control. It was now the battle of NPCs and the enemies.
Meanwhile, Carmen directly opened a Void Portal and grabbed Xu Feng to retreat to a safe distance.
...
Bardmon City, Central Plaza
Shortly after the two fled into the city, Carmen was about to leave him alone.
"Where are you going?" He asked in confusion.
Carmen remained expressionless.
"If someone were to mess with me, what would you do to that person?" She asked nonchalantly.
Before Xu Feng could even respond, she returned to the Void Portal that she had opened.
He couldn’t even chase after because the portal was shut down afterward.
"Oh, Karoos is dead..." He shook his head and prayed for Karoos.
While he didn’t manage to give her a proper answer, he was sure that Carmen knew what his answer was.
If anyone were to mess with her, then he sure as hell wouldn’t let that person see the daylight anymore.
Likewise, Carmen would naturally not let Karoos get away scot-free.
...
Bardmon City, Defense Border
CLANK!
BOOM!
Olivia’s magic spells continuously collided with Karoos’ demonic forces.
"Lady Olivia, Karoos’ body structure is too sturdy. We need to break its demonic substance into smaller substances to crack its shell open." Kong Ming advised from the side.
While saying that, Kong Ming had a fan in his right hand. He was fanning himself to trigger the cleansing effect for both him and Olivia.
"How dare you all treat me like some fool!" Karoos screeched loudly and expanded his mana.
Soon, the demonic forces that were deflected and scattered across the ground began to ripple violently.
A few seconds later, demonic beings began spawning.
10...20...30...70...100...
The numbers continued to rise exponentially, only coming to a stop at around 400.
What made the scene threatening was that each of the demonic beings held the power of Tier 2.
"City Magistrate Kong Ming, that’s your cleaning duty," Olivia said.
Kong Ming’s face turned expressionless. He shifted his sight to the 400-something Tier 2 demonic beings and wanted to cry.
These demonic beings also carried hints of Karoos’ corruption, which meant that it was like fighting the clones of Karoos, albeit in smaller sizes.
He would much rather fight Karoos than deal with this.
Alas, he had no choice but to obey since it was Olivia’s order.
"Leave the demonic beings to me!" Just when Kong Ming was about to do the tedious job, a voice resounded.
"Huh?" Kong Ming was startled and hurriedly searched for the source.
"You are?" Once he realized who the speaker was, he recalled her being next to Xu Feng and helping the latter recover.
"The Guild Commander of the Vanguard Guild, Lunar Wraith." Carmen introduced herself formally and explained.
"The Guild Leader’s injuries rendered him incapable of joining the battle anymore. As his Guild Commander, it’s my duty to replace him and assist the two Seniors."
"Hmm, no wonder I didn’t see him anywhere," Olivia muttered.
She was indeed curious about his whereabouts when she arrived at the scene.
However, that curiosity was sidelined when she detected Karoos’ presence. There was simply no time or chance for her to inquire about Xu Feng’s whereabouts.
"It’s like this..." Kong Ming explained the situation in a very brief manner.
Sure enough, Olivia was indeed baffled by Xu Feng’s action.
’Someone like that is a traitor of humanity? Seriously, how bad have the nobles fallen?’ They said a true person only reveals themselves in times of crisis. And that statement remained true when Xu Feng really revealed his true self.
The only difference was that his action completely went against those nobles’ accusations.
"Can you really handle the Tier 2 demonic beings by yourself?" Olivia asked.
"Yes, I can!" Carmen narrowed her eyes and immediately opened numerous gates that summoned the voidlings.
