Chapter 1548: Legacy Era Part 18
Chapter 1548: Legacy Era Part 18
Half an hour later...
The three elite team leaders did their best, but the opponent’s numbers were too overwhelming.
In the end, they were defeated and forced to retreat.
Nevertheless, Lionfield still ordered a few groups to pursue them.
That way, it would prevent them from recovering and returning to disrupt their momentum again.
"To stall us for almost an hour, I must give them props," Lionfield said in a hateful tone.
After all, they had wasted so much of their precious Ragged Scrolls and utility tools just to shut down Lightning Blade’s Domain Field.
How could there exist such a perverse Domain Field?
"Let’s just move on with the siege."
"Yeah, the town should only have the Demoness left..."
Upon the mention of the Demoness, the group’s morale rose to a new height.
They were under the shadow of the Demoness for far too long.
This was their chance to avenge themselves and to debunk the rumors that the Demoness frightened the Super Guilds.
"Wait, what about Eclipse Nova?"
Nobody knew who mentioned the name, but as soon as they did, the group’s high morale quickly dropped like Niagara Falls.
If anyone thought the three people they faced earlier were monsters, then these two were monsters amongst monsters.
However, their fear was quickly wiped away when someone received a message from their friend.
"Fuck, quickly turn on the livestream!"
"Livestream? We’re sieging here, and you’re watching some livestream?"
"Just shut up and open it!"
The commotion was rather loud. Even Lionfield heard it and had no choice but to turn on the livestream.
’I’ll kill this bastard if there’s nothing in it.’ Lionfield’s mood was already low from the humiliation.
A few seconds later, Lionfield’s face turned blank.
’What the hell is this?’
In the channel under Vanguard with the official checkmark that verified its authenticity, the stream was actually on them the whole time.
"> <Hahaha, the Nocturnal are so shameless! It was a one-on-one duel between swordsmen, and they had the guts to interfere.>
"> <Look at that buffoon reasoning. Oh, we’re fighting a war, so screw all integrity and honor as a SUPER GUILD!>
"> <Oh, it seems like they finally noticed they were being streamed. Ah, probably a rat amongst us who told one of the sieging group.>
"> <What a bummer, but this is fine too. Now these Super Guilds realized how much of a buffoon they were! Try and find us if you want to, arrogant clowns!>
The viewers were fearless because of the anonymous feature. Not even the greatest hacker could crack the Divine World system.
This was factual because hackers around the world gathered up and tried to challenge it, only to fail miserably.
What made it worse was that some of the top hackers who refused to give up ended up having their IP addresses leaked to the officials.
Without any surprise, the officials gladly investigated these random IP addresses sent to them and arrested multiple hackers.
"These damn viewers..." Lionfield gnashed his teeth heavily. To openly criticize their Super Guild was a grave offense.
Yet there was nothing he could do at the moment.
"Turn off the stream and stop getting distracted!" Lionfield shouted, unaware of the true reason why one of them said to turn on the stream.
"Who made you leader, Lionfield?"
"Jesus Christ, I’ve had enough of this yapping bozo from Nocturnal already. His brain is the size of a pea."
"The thoughts of our movement being long exposed and somehow streamed never crossed his dumb mind."
Lionfield’s face burned bright red when he was criticized by other people.
There was nothing he could really do either because they didn’t belong to Nocturnal, and they also belonged to another equal-level power of a guild.
Nevertheless, this criticism was broadcast widely for all the viewers to see how much of a disgrace he was.
"Hmph, since you all have so many complaints, then you do the leading," Lionfield grunted coldly and took a step back.
Why should he subject himself to their humiliation?
He only wanted to earn some favorable points by leading, but it was clear that the motive behind it had backfired. To save himself from causing any more damage, it was best to retreat for now.
Sometime later, a new leader emerged, and it was the female shotcaller who was assassinated early on by Benson.
"I can’t believe a moment of carelessness resulted in my pathetic death. I, Felicia, apologize for causing trouble for the rest of you." The female shotcaller, Felicia, bowed her head and apologized to the team. Her demeanor quickly earned her a favorable impression among the group and the viewers.
’Tsk, what a fake bitch.’ Lionfield sneered inwardly.
She was definitely reminded in advance that they were being streamed by the Vanguard through some unknown means and put on such an act in front of the camera.
Alas, he couldn’t curse her too much because he would have done the same.
As time passed by, the group finally got out of the Twilight Glades under Felicia’s leadership.
Things were so much smoother, and the comparison between her and Lionfield was being mentioned constantly.
Keep in mind that Felicia was in Paragon, which made it much more shameful for Lionfield, who had clearly gone against the masses.
Luckily for Lionfield, the group no longer paid much heed to him when they discovered something unusual.
"Wait, are we in the right place?"
"That doesn’t look like Haven Wind Town at all."
"Did we go the wrong way?"
From their distance, they were able to see a base, but its structure was totally different from what their mind remembered.
They had also been to the Haven Wind Town after paying the entrance fee, so there was no way they could have forgotten its appearance after a week. It was just impossible!
"This is bad..." Only Felicia’s expression was rather complicated as opposed to the others, who were filled with confusion.
"The Vanguard Guild managed to promote their town to a city." She staggered a few steps and nearly choked on her saliva.
