Chapter 1563: Legacy Era Part 33
Chapter 1563: Legacy Era Part 33
While Lightning Blade had to pay an astronomical amount for the bill that was raised sneakily by Serene Paragon, the latter had arrived at the teleport platform.
Haven Wind City
"Halt your steps!" The guards who were in charge of the Teleport Platform quickly ordered.
"State your identity and how you enter the city! This city is still locked and restricted to outsiders! They continued.
"Whoa, Tier 3 guards??" Serene Paragon was startled by the guards’ power.
To be able to hire Tier 3 guards... just how rich was the Vanguard Guild?
They don’t even appear to be sanctioned at all by the Super Guilds whatsoever.
"If you don’t state your identity in 3 seconds, you will be under arrest for trespassing and detained!" As she got distracted by their strength, the guard didn’t lower their weapon and even warned sternly.
"Wait, I’m a guest." Upon realizing the severity, Serene Paragon quickly retrieved the city token.
Sure enough, the guards’ hostility lowered slightly when they spotted the city token.
"Allow us to inspect it!"
One of the guards said and cautiously approached her to grab the city token.
Serene Paragon didn’t resist and even tossed the city token to them to avoid any further escalation.
A few seconds later, the guard confirmed the authenticity of the city token and realized this person didn’t trespass into the city.
"Apologies, guest of the city." The guard returned the token to her and reminded her. "Although you are permitted to stay in the city, the city is still locked, so there are still places you cannot enter. Do keep in mind that and avoid being interrogated."
"Thank you, I will keep it in mind." She nodded and put away the city token. "By the way, where is the training hall located? The city lord requested me to meet them there."
Needless to say, the city lord was referred to as the Vanguard Guild Leader, but to the NPCs, he was identified and addressed as the city lord.
And that was because this was a city. For players who still have a town, they were addressed as town lord only.
"The training hall is over at the corner, and you should be able to see it because the building is the tallest." The NPC guard informed her and pointed in her direction.
"By the way, skills usage is disabled in the city. You won’t be able to use your skills except for a few certain areas." They reminded her when they noticed Serene Paragon was about to use her movement skill to speed up.
"Oh... is that so?"
Serene Paragon wasn’t surprised that her intention was detected by the guard.
She reckoned their intelligence was already on par with the players. Those who still foolishly believe they couldn’t think for themselves were probably the ones who landed themselves in 3 months’ prison time.
Sometime later, Serene Paragon made her way to the training hall and was dumbfounded by its size.
’Holy smokes. Is this for real?’ Her eyes widened. The building of this size was equivalent to a town hall, no, even greater than a town hall.
Her Guild Leader was definitely out of their mind to agree to antagonize the Vanguard Guild when they hadn’t even done anything to Paragon.
’Now, it’s just great luck. Our guilds have bad blood, and my brother is also in alliance with Vanguard. Seems like I have to jump ship soon.’ If push comes to shove, she would have no choice but to abandon Paragon.
"Hmm, who are you, Missy?" While she was distracted, a voice suddenly echoed from behind.
Serene Paragon was surprised and turned around. She didn’t even sense their presence from behind.
"Eh, you are?" She tilted her head and thought he was familiar. "You’re the Training Hall Instructor, Brutus."
"Hoh, you must have been to my session before." Brutus mused.
’My goodness. How did he become Tier 4?’ The last time she recalled, he was still the average Tier 4 Mercenary.
Keep in mind that the Mercenary Tier ranking is a bit different from the other regular NPC Tier ranks.
So in a sense, Tier 4 Mercenary was equivalent to a regular NPC Tier 3 rank.
Even though that was the case, it was still unbelievable to see that the Vanguard Guild had so many Tier 3 NPCs.
"Yes, that is correct." Serene Paragon made sure she kept a polite tone and explained her presence here.
A few moments later, Brutus nodded his head in understanding. With the token as proof, Brutus didn’t inquire further and decided to guide her inside.
It was just an added security measure that she wasn’t lying because Brutus knew the City Lord was inside.
’The higher the strength, the more intelligent they are.’ Serene Paragon was seriously worried for her Paragon Guild.
How could she not understand Brutus’ true intention in his offer to lead the way for her?
As she followed him closely, sounds of a tense battle echoed.
"Hmm, looks like they’re still at it." Brutus knitted his brows and halted his steps.
"Do wait here for a while as I go to inform them of your arrival." He suggested, but it was more of a statement and less of a suggestion.
Serene Paragon had never felt so weak before since her promotion to Tier 2.
She could only nod her head and stand by the side.
’Is the Vanguard Guild Leader trying to send a statement to me?’ She began to wonder if this was intentional or just a coincidence.
Sometime later, Brutus returned and told her to enter.
’Here we go.’ Serene Paragon nodded and entered the arena. By the time she got a closer look, her eyes widened in complete surprise.
"Is this still the arena simulation I remembered?" She staggered a few steps.
She was dumbfounded by the large stage and why the two of them were seated on a throne chair.
As she quietly watched, she noticed this was a kind of strategy battle that doesn’t involve the player themselves, but rather how they command the other pieces.
"Oh dear... who can beat Vanguard Guild when it comes to guild war in the future?" Serene Paragon seriously hoped Paragon wouldn’t be foolish enough to pick a fight with Vanguard again.
