Chapter 427: Human Nature
Chapter 427: Human Nature
Autumn Breeze was silently pondering if she should inform Xu Feng of this matter but ultimately decided against it.
She highly doubted OneManMedia was a retarded person to go against his guild leader's wishes unless he wanted to be persecuted.
Thankfully, her years of judgment weren't proven wrong when Soulstrider asked what he wanted in exchange.
"I don't have much valuables on me, but as long as you tell me what you want. I can try to think of a way to get it." Soulstrider said solemnly. The Elemental Warrior Set effect was truly a breakthrough and precisely what their Solaris Guild needed.
Hence, he couldn't care less about his reputation and stayed, hoping that there could be a chance to get his hands on one.
It was a blessing that his decision became fruitful rather quickly.
As for offending Autumn Breeze by cutting her, Soulstrider had no qualms in doing so if given the chance again and again. She was merely tagging along with Gentle Wind and nothing else.
Meanwhile, OneManMedia smiled apologetically to Autumn Breeze.
"Pardon my rudeness, Autumn Breeze." He bowed and turned to Soulstrider.
With a calm smile on his face, he revealed his demands, "You want the set? It's quite simple actually. Offer all information you know about the Reaver Guild and ensure your Solaris Guild won't assist them in dealing with us. If that's done then our Vanguard would gladly give you a set for free."
"..."
Soulstrider's face twitched uncontrollably at the "simple" demands that were equivalent to asking him to betray his affiliation. As much as he despised the current young master of the GRIM Corporation, it wasn't enough for him to outright backstab them.
After all, years of collaborations and partnerships weren't shallow enough to be undone by a single problem.
"Pfft, I knew it wouldn't be that simple." Suddenly, Autumn Breeze burst out laughing and realized OneManMedia was just like his shrewd guild leader.

Was this seriously offering a chance to Soulstrider?
No, it was more like another round of humiliation and face-slap at Soulstrider.
Amidst the awkward and tense atmosphere, OneManMedia cleared his throat, "You can think about it, but it's best to do so before the raid begins. The Guild Leader still has to make some extra preparation to ensure the raid is smooth sailing."
"I-I understand…" Soulstrider bit his lips and nodded.
He then promptly excused himself, most likely to debate the pros and cons of the matter.
With his presence nowhere to be seen anymore, Autumn Breeze asked, "Was this also part of your Guild Leader's plan?"
"Yes and no," OneManMedia responded coolly. "The Guild Leader never told me to rope him in, but he did say I should use this as an opportunity to establish some worthy connections."
"I see…" Realization struck her as she breathed a sigh of relief. If even this was planned by Xu Feng, then she had to be extremely wary of him in the long run.
"Anyway, can I resume the stream and ask for your opinion regarding the set?" OneManMedia asked cheekily.
Thanks to Soulstrider's intervention, it was obvious to Autumn Breeze that he was never going to give the set to her. In fact, it was merely bait to get her to give him a free interview or podcast talk.
'Hmm, I might as well use their tactic against them and promote some of my business and Qing Rou's guild.' Autumn Breeze sneered inwardly.
"Alright, let's resume." She subsequently said.
While the two resumed their discussion, back at the Vanguard Hotel, Xu Feng was busy feeding his pet.
"Chirp Chirp!" Flint chirped happily and flapped its small wings repeatedly as he ate a piece of meat one after another.
Looking at his somewhat malnourished body, Xu Feng felt a bit of guilt.
"Good thing I stored some food at the Pet Space or I couldn't have imagined the consequences." He flashed a bittersweet smile.
Previously, at the meeting room, Xu Feng received a severe system warning of his pet, Flint, nearly starving to death. He got so frightened upon finishing reading the prompt that he quickly called an end to the meeting.
Hence, he quickly bought at least 8 months' worth of food and stored them in the storage within the Pet Space. It was better to be cautious than sorry from now on.
What made him feel even more guilty was the fact that Flint didn't even seem to blame him and rushed at him with a cheerful expression.
He extended his hand and rubbed on Flint's head with a warm smile. "Rest assured, you can keep eating till you're full. Your owner has nothing much to offer, but he sure has the money to feed you well."
"Chirp!" Flint responded and burrowed his head on another piece of meat, chomping it with great enthusiasm.
Shortly after, Xu Feng exited the Pet Space, allowing Flint to play around in the Pet Space.
There were many things available in the Pet Space, given he had exhausted quite a few gold coins to upgrade to ensure maximum entertainment and comfort for Flint.
Initially, he didn't plan on wasting too much money on it, but this was his way of apologizing to Flint.
As he returned to his hotel room, Xu Feng opened the game forum, and without surprise, the discussion between the other guilds was trending.
What took the top was naturally the keywords such as Elemental Warrior Set and Vanguard Blacksmith.
However, there was no screenshot or video whatsoever within these topics, which was kind of odd for the rest.
"Heh, how can they screenshot or record anything when I told Xing to ban all such functions?" Xu Feng smirked coldly at these posts. By making it sound awesome yet showed nothing, it became obvious what they would do.
Humans' nature was unpredictable, but not all actions were unpredictable. This was one such case, with human curiosity being their ultimate downfall.
With things being so mysteriously yet hailed in such a high position, they would all flock to Star Falls City to verify the news.
