Chapter 786: Power Of A Domain

Jake and Gunner's team could see bright white light spreading across the hall, making them fill their hearts with hope as well.

Just as they expected, taking on four of these late-level Profound Nethereal Realm ghouls wasn't easy at all. Even if these four weren't really intelligent, their brute strength was on another level, making it quite hard for Gunner and Jake's team.

Only upon seeing the brilliant white light and the roars of pain from the Ghoul Chief did they feel more motivated. If Lily's team managed to hurt such a terrifying monster, how could they fail them here?

Reva and her sisters didn't rejoice upon hearing the roars of the Ghoul Chief. They knew one of the main reasons they managed to hurt it was because of Lily's ball of light that was constantly shining above her. It seemed to have a weakening effect when at its brightest, which was proving to be quite effective against ghouls.

But it was extremely exhaustive for her, and they could see how her face was getting paler by the second, and it was not as if the Ghoul Chief was on the verge of dying.

Suddenly, the Chief Ghouls' eyes shone with a dark light as muddy water began to form beneath his feet.

Yuria and her sisters had a bad feeling seeing the dirty water pooling under his feet. But before they could process their next thought, this muddy water suddenly spread along in every direction till it filled the floor of the entire hall!

Even Gunner and Jake's team, who were fighting the four ghouls on the opposite end, had their feet getting submerged by this muddy water which seemed to make their bodies feel sluggish.

Valentina and her sisters were also experiencing the same thing. They felt as if their legs were getting heavier and harder to move.

"Shit! He activated his domain!" Yuria called out to her sisters as they felt the entire hall getting damp and murky.

And just as they expected, the Ghoul Chief curved his lips with a smug look as he broke off the earthen veins that were restricting his body and slapped away the weapons that were trying to dig into his flesh.

Still, his face was contorted with the pain that was stemming from the black dug into his back.

Valentina saw that he was getting stronger under his domain and was about to back out. But her speed wasn't fast enough as the Ghoul Chief kicked her in the stomach, making her fly across with blood coming out of her mouth till her back smashed against the wall.

It seemed like he already knew she was the strongest here and wanted to get rid of her first. He walked over as both his huge bloody machetes glinted in the dark, "You hurt me, but I will hurt you even more."

"Valentina!" Lily, Reva, and Yuria had their hearts thud upon seeing Valentina getting cornered by the Ghoul Chief.

They didn't even think of anything else as they rushed toward the Ghoul Chief to stop him before the worst could happen.

However, the muddy water only made their legs feel even heavier till they were forced to fall on their knees, unable to move.

They could only watch with widened eyes as they saw the Ghoul Chief raising both his machete in the air and then bringing it down as he slashed Valentina's neck.

"NO!" All three of them shouted in horror as they saw Valentina's body slowly slumping into the muddy water as blood gushed out from her neck.

They could feel her life slipping away quite fast through their soul connection. Seeing the Ghoul Chief turning around and walking towards them with a sadistic smile, they could see that he wanted Valentina to bleed to death instead of killing her instantly.

But these three had no idea that the Ghoul Chief wanted her to not die instantly so that her flesh wouldn't get spoiled quickly.

Reva suddenly manifested an icicle in her hand and cut her wrist, startling both Lily and Yuria. However, upon seeing Reva direct the fountain of blood coming from her wrist toward Valentina through the air, they realized what she was doing.

Lily and Yuria also took out their blades and cut their wrist as they directed the blood gushing out from their wrist toward Valentina. Lily was already feeling dizzy from her fatigue, but she didn't care as long as she and her sisters could save Valentina's life.

At this time, they couldn't help but think of their husband, who always came out victorious no matter how despairful the situation was. They thought they could be as strong as him, but now they realized they still had ways to go.

The Ghoul Chief saw streaks of blood passing by him. But he ignored them and continued to walk towards the three women while grinding his machetes together, the sound making all three women feel as if their ears were being cut.

The huge shadow of the Ghoul Chief loomed over the three women as his humongous figure stood before them.

He licked the blood on his machete and swallowed it and then said with bloodlust brimming in his eyes, "Which one of you should I—"

"GROWL!!!"

A spine-shaking roar suddenly boomed behind the Ghoul Chief, making him even drop his machetes in shock and fright.

But before he could even turn around, the huge maw of a tigress-like beast chomped down on his head. His figure, which was gigantic to any ordinary person, looked so tiny before this huge five meters tall ethereal beast.

Valentina had to lower her size since the ceiling of this underground hall wasn't too high, and yet her figure was imposing and terrifying as ever.

Lily, Reva, and Yuria had their faces light up with relieved smiles as they saw Valentina lifting the Ghoul Chief by his head, his hands flailing around in fear.

All three women were surprised to see that the Ghoul Chief didn't seem to stand a chance against Valentina's true form!
