Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 793: The Feeling Of Helplessness

Chapter 793: The Feeling Of Helplessness

Mira's chin was visibly tremoring as she looked at Damien spit out the drink she had meticulously prepared. It was as if he drank something that melted his tongue.

She gripped the side of her dress as she barged forward and grabbed the glass from him with an irate look, "Hmph, if you hate it so much, don't drink it!"

"Hey…it's not my fault that maybe Elder Jayna got it mixed up. Why are you getting so pissed off for that?" Damien asked with a baffled look.

"Because you are ungrateful!" Mira said with her nostrils flared.

"Ungrateful? Now that was uncalled for," Damien said as he stood before her with his arms crossed. He knew she had a temper but getting called ungrateful for not drinking something he could not even swallow was just too much.

He was about to admonish her when he suddenly felt his soul energy getting shaken, "No…Valentina…" Damien mumbled with a pained look as she stumbled back and leaned against the window.

Mira saw him suddenly acting weird and asked with a look of confusion, "Hey! What are you doing?" She wondered why his aura became so unstable.

She had never seen him look so shaken up and slowly approached him. She couldn't find anything wrong physically, and it wasn't as if the drink she gave him was poisoned…right?

However, Mira had no idea that Damien felt his soul connection to Valentina becoming weak, making him realize her life was in danger. The only other time he felt like this was when Yohr killed Valentina.

This made him feel heaviness in his chest, wondering if she was really in trouble. But the helplessness of not being able to do anything despite knowing she was in danger made him feel even more miserable.

He knew Luna had warned him that Valentina would be in more danger since he used the Shadows of Time to reverse her death. But he never expected that it would be so soon and couldn't help but resent the heavens for being so cruel.

"Damien, calm down. Nothing is going to happen to her," Luna said in a firm tone as she came out of her shard after noticing the instability in his soul plane.

She knew that even with the ice seed within his ethereal core, he would always find it hard to maintain a calm mind when it came to his women. This was more due to the fact that his soul was literally connected to them using the dual cultivation arts she gave him. And anything that affects the soul would be catastrophic, and not even the mind or body could contain it.

His women was his only weak point, but the only one that was enough to cause him a breakdown.

Kalypso also had learned this by now, and she was worried seeing her master's expression suddenly becoming pale. But she decided to let Luna handle this, considering how she knew what to do in situations like these.

Damien mumbled with an unnerved look, "I have to leave…I have to find her somehow before—"

"Damien, look at me!" Luna shouted as her voice made Damien feel like his head was splitting into two.

"Fuck…" Damien grimaced as he looked at Luna with a frustrated look, "What's wrong with you…shouting like that?"

"That is what I want to ask you," Luna snorted as she narrowed her gaze and added, "Do you have any idea the kind of stupidity you have been thinking about? Do you feel that?…Valentina is fine…just like I said."

Damien felt his connection to Valentina strengthening and returning back to normal gradually, making him feel highly relieved since this meant her vitals were improving rapidly and that she was probably out of whatever danger she was in.

"Haaa…" He let out a long sigh of relief as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Luna knew Damien still carried the trauma of losing his women in his past life, which only exacerbated his worry for his women in this life.

It was at times like this she wished he wasn't a mortal. At least that way, he wouldn't get distraught by something like this.

And seeing him in pain for those few moments made something inside her feel heavy, which only made her want to make him return to normal.

"I am glad you brought me to my senses, Luna…I was really worried…I still am…" Damien mumbled as he looked at Luna looking at him with pursed lips.

Luna let out a low sigh as she said in a mild tone, "I know it's natural for you to feel worried, but…do you trust me?"

Damien looked at her as he said, "You know I always do."

"Then next time, listen to me. I will tell you the hard truth. No matter how much you worry, you won't be of any help to your wives. The only way for you is to keep pushing forward till you are strong enough. Now deal with that hot head before she pokes her nose in," Luna said as Damien saw Mira shaking his shoulder.

"Hello?! Are you deaf? Who is Valentina?" Mira did remember hearing him mention that name as his face suddenly became pale.

Damien pushed away her hand and said, "It is the name of one of my wives…" Damien said with a blank expression as he sat on the window rail. Even though he didn't officially marry Valentina yet but only engaged to her, he still considered her as his wife.

"Thinking about your human wives?" Mira couldn't believe he suddenly thought of some human girls while in the middle of their conversation. Why did he consider them so important when they didn't even know that he was half-ghoul. If they knew, they would surely leave him and might even try to kill him if they were alive. She had witnessed countless times how vicious humans can be against ghouls.

"You are wasting your time worrying about them. If you ask me, they are better off dead than alive," Mira offhandedly said, but suddenly she felt the air around her change, as a spine-chilling aura filled the entire room.
