Running Over The Head Of My Ex [Rebirth]

Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Zhuo Zhiwei’s expression did not change in the slightest, and there was no trace of pain on her face, as if this were just another ordinary event.

“How can you dance without getting hurt? I started learning classical dance at the age of four, and I’ve suffered injuries far worse than this. I’m used to it.”

He Qingqi understood this principle as well. When she first learned Sanda, street dance, and parkour, she had bruises all over her body.

But despite that, He Qingqi still felt very guilty. She was eight years older than Zhuo Zhiwei, yet she had to let Zhuo Zhiwei endure this pain.

She put the first-aid kit on the ground and sighed, “Sorry, it’s my fault. I was a bit… too hasty.”

Hearing this, Zhuo Zhiwei was momentarily stunned, and then she sighed, “What silly talk.”

She smiled gently, her eyes soft and deep, and rubbed He Qingqi’s head. “We are both captains, and we decided to practice together.”

He Qingqi pursed her lips, feeling uncomfortable and guilty. She half knelt in front of Zhuo Zhiwei, intending to remove her shoes.

“What are you doing?” Startled, Zhuo Zhiwei quickly hugged her legs, as if confronting a formidable foe.

“Checking where you’re hurt.”

She didn’t know why, but whenever she faced this beautiful girl, her bottom line seemed non-existent. The feelings of regret, guilt, and the desire to treat her well surrounded her like seawater.

She used to be very fussy; after moving into a dorm in college, she even quarreled with her upper bunkmate for showing the soles of their feet on the railing, which ultimately led to her leaving.

But now she insisted on checking Zhuo Zhiwei’s injury…

It’s unreasonable.

“I can do it myself!”

He Qingqi persisted, “Let me see~” using a coquettish tone.

Zhuo Zhiwei remained unmoved. “No, no, no. I’ll do it myself, thank you.”

Seeing Zhuo Zhiwei’s insistence, He Qingqi had no choice but to give up. She sat down next to Zhuo Zhiwei, helplessly saying, “Then do it yourself.”

She muttered, “It’s not like you’ll lose a piece of flesh by showing it.” This was the first time, apart from Fang Xuanyao, that she aspired to show such kindness to someone, only to face rejection. She inexplicably felt a little aggrieved and glanced at Zhuo Zhiwei with resentment.

“Alright.” Seeing her like this, Zhuo Zhiwei couldn’t help but apply the medicine while softly comforting her. “I just feel like it would offend you.”

“How would that offend? We are friends!” He Qingqi retorted loudly.

“Yes, you said it. We are friends. You’re not my assistant or doctor. You have no obligation to do this for me. You are my friend who stands by me no matter what. We just finished practicing dance, and my feet are sweaty, mixed with pus and blood. It’s really dirty. I don’t want you to do this.”

“And, if your feet were injured, would you want me to apply medicine for you?”

He Qingqi fell silent, lowered her head, thought about it, and had to admit that Zhuo Zhiwei was right.

Thinking about it, if it were her, she wouldn’t want to trouble her friend with this, nor would she want to show her embarrassing side to her friend, just like when her bed photos and naked photos were taken and rumors about Zhuo Zhiwei were flying all over. She wanted to hide in a place where no one knew her.

Zhuo Zhiwei, with her back to her, carefully applied the medicine and wrapped a thick layer of gauze. After standing up and walking a bit, she felt it was still okay; though she couldn’t fit her foot into the shoe, it wasn’t unmanageable.

She put on her socks, took off the other shoe, and was about to warm up when He Qingqi grabbed her. She turned around to meet a pair of eyes filled with worry and blame. “What are you doing?”

“Warm up.”

He Qingqi frowned. “Warm up for what? You’re already like this, and you still plan to continue?”

“We already agreed, didn’t we? This is nothing serious.”

He Qingqi’s hair was still wet, and the sweat hadn’t completely evaporated. Her pupils flashed, her heart inexplicably ached, and she pointed to Zhuo Zhiwei’s foot. “Although we said that, but…” You can’t even wear your shoes.

“It’s nothing,” Zhuo Zhiwei said. “Qingqi, you have to understand, we’re in a talent show now, survival of the fittest.”

“The performance is in a few days. Even if there are difficulties, we have to overcome them. Although we’re competing this time, I think what’s more important is that this is our first joint stage. I don’t want us to lose to others, don’t you agree?”

To be honest, Zhuo Zhiwei was good at coaxing He Qingqi, making her heart bloom with joy.

She blinked, feeling inexplicably shy; her earlobes reddened.

However, He Qingqi was not easily convinced.

“Then… what about your foot?”

“Okay, don’t be stubborn. I know you’re doing this for me.” Zhuo Zhiwei pulled He Qingqi up from her seat, her actions seemingly coquettish.

“How about this? We alternate dancing; we’ll see if we can figure out a solution. Then, I’ll take a break this afternoon, and you’ll coach the other five, okay?”

Zhuo Zhiwei intentionally used a soft tone, her final syllables rising gently, her pretty eyes wide and innocent, making He Qingqi’s heart tremble.

Having known each other for almost a month, Zhuo Zhiwei knew very well that the person in front of her was soft-hearted, a typical Leo.

Her beauty overpowered He Qingqi, causing her rationality to vanish instantaneously, leaving her mind occupied by a squealing chicken. Fine, whatever, you’re right!

So, with trembling fingers, she played the accompaniment of “Last.”

As it turned out, she was right.

With just a few words, Zhuo Zhiwei made her dizzy and disoriented.

After these few days of practice, He Qingqi memorized Zhuo Zhiwei’s dance steps. Her body, as if in memory, instantly coordinated with Zhuo Zhiwei.

When Zhuo Zhiwei’s hand brushed her waist, her body trembled involuntarily, instantly understanding why Zhuo Zhiwei would blush when dancing in this segment.

The performance day would require a belly-baring outfit, further intensifying the sensitivity of the waist.

Zhuo Zhiwei also understood He Qingqi’s concern, but how could she directly say, don’t worry, touch boldly, I don’t mind?

Both sighed at the same time, sitting on the floor, feeling down.

He Qingqi stole a glance at Zhuo Zhiwei’s foot, realizing they couldn’t delay any longer. She gritted her teeth, thinking, after all, they were both girls, so it wasn’t a big deal to touch a bit more intimately.

Besides, it was Zhuo Zhiwei; they had been more intimate in their past lives, even though it was unconscious. In this life, they had already been close many times; there was nothing to worry about!

Thinking of their past lives, He Qingqi felt guilty, stealing a glance at Zhuo Zhiwei.

“Zhiwei…”

“Yes?”

“I will be more serious next time.”

Though her words were unclear, Zhuo Zhiwei immediately understood, pursing her lips, softly acknowledging, feeling a bit embarrassed, and turning her gaze away.

Thinking about her problem, she rubbed her temples in frustration: “This part… Jinhan made it sound easy.”

However, it was difficult to dismiss shyness.

He Qingqi thought for a moment, then tentatively asked, “How about… we practice it more often?”

Hearing this, Zhuo Zhiwei’s face couldn’t help but flush. Her waist was particularly sensitive, and if it weren’t for He Qingqi, she wouldn’t have wanted this lead position.

She bit her lip, stealing a glance at He Qingqi, and nodded slightly. “Okay.”

But if it was He Qingqi, it might not be unmanageable.

In the afternoon, He Qingqi initially wanted Zhuo Zhiwei to rest in the dormitory, but Zhuo Zhiwei refused to leave her teammates, sitting by the side the whole afternoon.

She suddenly noticed that He Qingqi, as a captain, was quite impressive, always able to spot members’ issues. Every time she fixed an expressionless stare on someone, they would become so terrified that they were unable to speak, demonstrating He Qingqi’s authority.

He Qingqi was not particularly fierce-looking; rather, she had a pretty appearance, but a distinct scar between her brows added a bit of dominance and fierceness, which intimidated people but not Zhuo Zhiwei.

Zhuo Zhiwei only found this girl to be adorably fierce and a bit cute.

At nine in the evening, the “Big Devil,” He Qingqi, stretched lazily, unusually giving everyone a break.

“Gather at seven tomorrow morning,” she said coldly.

“Yes!” The members were scared stiff, stood straight, and responded loudly.

He Qingqi walked over to Zhuo Zhiwei, turned her back, squatted down, and patted her shoulder. “Get on, I’ll carry you.”

Zhuo Zhiwei moved with a smile, avoiding her, but coldly refused. “No.”

“You must.” He Qingqi turned back, nodded seriously at Zhuo Zhiwei, and persistently urged her, “Must, must, be good, get on.”

After speaking, she turned back, maintaining a squatting position.

Zhuo Zhiwei had no choice, giving her a reproachful glance before reluctantly climbing on, wrapping her slender arms gently around He Qingqi’s neck, and her fingers brushing against He Qingqi’s chin.

She bit her lip.

He Qingqi didn’t turn her head, so she didn’t see Zhuo Zhiwei’s eyes darting to one side, showing an unexpectedly pretty, mischievous smile.

After that day, the members of the “Last” group noticed that their two lead dancers were acting like a couple, hugging and touching intimately like conjoined twins, blushing after each move.

Those who were aware knew they were practicing dancing, while those who didn’t would assume they were in a relationship.

Initially, they held a skeptical attitude but later found it useful. The lead dancers appeared to have had an epiphany, dancing so seductively that it made even them feel like they had nosebleeds.
