Chapter 96
Chapter 96
Immediately, the conversation in the fan forum took a turn. No longer were they obsessively curious about what the two might have said. Instead, fans collectively decided that the mystery was better left unsolved—it was sweeter this way! The chat became lively, with everyone wishing they could have been there at the moment of “discovery.”
“Let’s go, head-pushing squad!”
“When a girl closes her eyes, it’s a sign she wants a kiss! Do you want her to completely abandon her shyness? He Qingqi, I’m so disappointed in you as a ‘mom’!”
“I’m crying! These two are just too sweet! I still don’t understand why fans from other groups ship them so seriously.”
“Emmmm, well, we can’t control what other fans do. Let’s not say things that could attract haters.”
Someone even shared a screenshot of Wang Qiyu’s urgent expression while watching them, causing a new wave of laughter.
“Zhiwei, look at what you’ve done to Qiqi!”
“Look at Qiqi’s hands—clenching and unclenching, clearly wishing she could push them together herself. It’s me in spirit!”
He Qingqi sat cross-legged on her bed, thoroughly enjoying the comments as she scrolled through her phone, a grin plastered on her face.
Zhuo Zhiwei stepped out of the bathroom, drying her hair, and cast a curious glance in her direction. “What are you looking at? Why are you so happy?”
She walked over with long strides, half-kneeling on the bed, resting her arms on He Qingqi’s shoulders, pretending to seriously inspect the phone screen. Her soft lips brushed He Qingqi’s ear, the warmth of her breath carrying a faint, seductive tone.
He Qingqi instinctively held her breath, locking her phone and using the dark screen to secretly glance at their current posture.
Zhuo Zhiwei’s lips curled into a sly smile as she gazed at the screen. Her usually cold and aloof face was now adorned with a playful glint, like a child who had successfully pulled off a prank. In that instant, He Qingqi’s heart melted. She felt an overwhelming desire to give the entire world to this person.
Putting down her phone, He Qingqi lightly stroked Zhuo Zhiwei’s hands resting on her shoulders. She turned her head and smiled at her, noticing the post-shower glow on Zhiwei’s skin, which gave her an ethereal quality—like a celestial being who didn’t quite belong to this world. But the faint blush on her earlobes betrayed her human vulnerability.
So cute.
He Qingqi smiled again, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Zhiwei’s nose, and then lightly on her lips. Just that small kiss was enough to make Zhuo Zhiwei’s breathing grow uneven.
“Because they guessed right,” He Qingqi said with a lazy smile, leaning back into Zhuo Zhiwei’s embrace, fingers playing with the strands of her hair.
Zhuo Zhiwei, still sitting upright with perfect posture, fluttered her eyelashes and, feeling affectionate, gently held He Qingqi’s hand. Her voice was soft, “Guessed what?”
She bit lightly at the small bone on He Qingqi’s throat, teasingly flicking her tongue across it.
Perhaps she bit too hard, or maybe the sensation was too much. Zhuo Zhiwei suddenly furrowed her brows, pushed He Qingqi away, and rushed to the side of the bed, dry-heaving twice with her head lowered.
He Qingqi’s eyes widened in surprise, a glint of excitement flashing across her face. “…Are you pregnant?”
She puffed up her chest with pride. “Am I really that powerful?”
Zhuo Zhiwei: “…”
She sighed, then gave He Qingqi a helpless look. “Do you even have that ability?”
He Qingqi stuck out her tongue playfully, her brows arching like crescent moons as she wrapped her arms around Zhiwei from behind. “Who knows? Maybe I’m just that gifted.”
Zhuo Zhiwei chuckled, tapping He Qingqi’s nose with her finger. “You’re such a goof~”
They stayed in each other’s arms for a while, savoring the rare quiet moment. Suddenly, He Qingqi felt a pang of sadness. She nuzzled Zhiwei’s shoulder, her voice pitiful, “Zhiwei…”
“What is it?” Zhuo Zhiwei asked lazily, her tone indulgent.
Hearing her tender voice, He Qingqi’s frustration bubbled to the surface. She regretted entering this industry, where even their relationship had to be hidden. “When will we finally get caught?” she grumbled, pressing her forehead against Zhiwei’s back, pouting.
Zhuo Zhiwei turned her head slightly and lightly flicked He Qingqi’s nose. “Do you want to go public?”
Of course, I want to. He Qingqi had never been the type to keep a low profile, especially not when Zhuo Zhiwei, someone so wonderful, was by her side. She wanted the whole world to know they belonged to each other.
With a quiet hum, He Qingqi admitted, “Yeah.”
As soon as she said it, Zhuo Zhiwei grabbed her phone and switched it to selfie mode, pulling He Qingqi closer by the waist and aiming the camera at both of them.
He Qingqi froze at the sight and, startled, snatched the phone away. “What are you doing?!”
Zhuo Zhiwei’s gaze was steady, her eyes as deep and serious as black gemstones. “Going public.”
He Qingqi scoffed, “Stop messing around.”
“I’m not,” Zhuo Zhiwei said calmly. Her eyes softened as she kissed He Qingqi’s hand. “You’re the most important person to me, Qingqi.”
Her voice was gentle yet unwavering, like a soft breeze carrying a profound weight. “I want to give you everything you desire.”
After speaking, she bit her lip shyly, refusing to meet He Qingqi’s eyes. Her black hair fell forward, covering half of her face.
He Qingqi felt as though something had struck her heart, her lips trembling as she struggled to find the right words. In that moment, she realized just how deeply Zhuo Zhiwei loved her—past and present. That love, so sincere and heartfelt, was enough to move her and make her ache.
In their past life, fate hadn’t allowed them to be together. Zhuo Zhiwei had seen through He Qingqi’s reluctance and distance during their time on Occasionally, and from that point onward, they had remained friends—at least, outwardly.
But in this life, He Qingqi had fallen in love with Zhuo Zhiwei. She was finally able to reveal her true feelings, watching as the cold exterior of Zhuo Zhiwei melted away to reveal the soft, sweet side beneath. Though introverted by nature, Zhiwei was now bold enough to openly express her affections.
He Qingqi’s heart stirred. She reached out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind Zhiwei’s ear, cradling her face gently, as if she were holding a piece of flawless moonlight. With a teasing smile, she locked eyes with her and said in a slow, deliberate tone, “Then I don’t want to go public. I want you to… handle me.”
Zhuo Zhiwei’s mind went blank, her thoughts flashing back to that unforgettable night. The memory of losing control and trembling to the core made her heart pound wildly, her cheeks turning crimson.
She bit down on her lip, fingers trailing over He Qingqi’s clothes as she whispered softly, “Then… teach me. I-I’m afraid I won’t know where to start…”
Like a lamb willingly walking into a trap, Zhuo Zhiwei’s hesitant words made He Qingqi pause for a moment before a wicked grin spread across her face. Her pink tongue flicked out to lick her lips. “Alright then, let me teach you properly.”
Soon enough, Zhuo Zhiwei found herself completely bare once again, as if she had been peeled clean like an egg. He Qingqi’s lips brushed against her ear, whispering in a low, sultry voice.
“Here, do you know this spot?”
Zhuo Zhiwei whimpered softly, her body trembling like a kitten. Every touch was met with a wave of pleasure that sent her spiraling into another world.
The lesson continued for quite some time, and by the end, Zhuo Zhiwei—who usually had a strong learning ability—had mastered it, albeit with slightly shaky legs.
As the night deepened, the room was filled with the sounds of heavy breathing and the soft creaks of the bed.
He Qingqi, half-closing her eyes in bliss, lazily stretched her neck upward. Then, as if remembering something, she chuckled and reached out to caress Zhuo Zhiwei’s shoulder.
“Do you think Jinghan in the room next door can hear us? Especially with how loudly you were just moaning.”
Zhuo Zhiwei’s eyes shot open wide, her movements freezing. “!!!”
She had completely forgotten! She thought they were still at He Qingqi’s place, but apparently, He Qingqi hadn’t forgotten at all!
Her face turned bright red, a mix of embarrassment and frustration bubbling to the surface. In a panic, she slapped He Qingqi’s behind. “Why didn’t you say something sooner?!” Who knew how much Tao Jinghan had heard? What would she think?
Her face flushed a deep shade of red, as if steam were rising from her head. Zhuo Zhiwei’s lips quivered, her lips quivering as she stammered, “N-no wonder… no wonder you were so quiet…”
She pushed He Qingqi away in a huff, but with He Qingqi already feeling weak all over, the gentle push made her collapse flat on the bed, her limbs spread out.
He Qingqi cast an aggrieved glance at her, pouting as she rubbed her own behind. “Zhiwei, you’re too harsh! Where’s the love and tenderness?”
In a small voice, she muttered to herself, “I try so hard, don’t I?”
“Try what, exactly?!” If looks could kill, He Qingqi would have been defeated a thousand times over by now.
He Qingqi blinked innocently. “I thought you’d realize… I mean, I assumed you knew.”
Assumed? Zhuo Zhiwei’s breathing grew rapid with frustration, and her trembling fingers pointed accusingly at He Qingqi.
Truthfully, He Qingqi had forgotten at first. It wasn’t until halfway through that she remembered they were in the dorm, but by then, she couldn’t bring herself to stop. The heat of the moment drowned out her better judgment, and now, seeing how upset Zhuo Zhiwei was, she regretted saying anything about it at all.
Zhuo Zhiwei’s eyes began to well up with tears. Recently, He Qingqi had gotten used to pampering her, and her temper had grown a bit sharper as a result. Though they’d been married for a month now, she still hadn’t fully let He Qingqi off the hook for their little secrets remaining hidden.
Seeing her teary-eyed, He Qingqi’s heart broke. Full of guilt, she pulled Zhuo Zhiwei into her arms, her gaze tender and apologetic as she peppered kisses on her forehead and cheeks. “Darling, I’m sorry. I was just teasing you. I promise no one heard anything—your voice was so quiet, like a kitten.”
Hearing this, Zhuo Zhiwei only felt more wronged. She sniffled as she wiped at her eyes, mumbling through her sobs, “You’re awful.”
Her soft, chiding words only stirred something deeper in He Qingqi, her heart aching and yearning at the same time.
“I don’t want to talk to you anymore,” Zhuo Zhiwei grumbled, pulling the thin blanket over her body and turning to face the wall, clearly wanting to shut He Qingqi out.
“No, don’t be mad…” He Qingqi pleaded, her voice taking on a pitiful tone as she looked at Zhuo Zhiwei’s back. “I didn’t mean it… I was just joking.”
Zhuo Zhiwei was fully aware that she hadn’t been loud at all, but knowing there was someone in the next room made her feel incredibly embarrassed. Plus, she wanted to use this as an excuse to throw a little tantrum with He Qingqi.
“I was wrong, Zhiwei. I shouldn’t have teased you like that.”
“Zhiwei, darling, my love? Wife?”
Zhuo Zhiwei blinked, her heart skipping a beat when she heard the last word—Wife. She felt a warmth spreading through her, but she tried to hide her reaction.
He Qingqi, however, didn’t miss the subtle shift. With a slight, knowing smile, she curled her fingers around Zhuo Zhiwei’s arm. “Wife, my darling wife… I won’t ever tease you again.”
“Wife, darling, please forgive me,” He Qingqi cooed, her voice growing softer and more affectionate with each word.
Zhuo Zhiwei couldn’t help but feel her heart flutter. She shifted slightly under the blanket but didn’t say a word, secretly pleased by the term of endearment.
“Look,” He Qingqi continued, her voice full of gentle coaxing. “I have an apartment in City B. Next time we… have needs, we’ll just go there, okay?”
Zhuo Zhiwei shot back a firm response, “No!” Her head tilted slightly upward, the faint traces of a pout visible from under the blanket. “As punishment for lying to me…”
Zhuo Zhiwei’s dark eyes met He Qingqi’s, her voice resolute as she pronounced her decree: “You’re not allowed to touch me for the next week!”
