Running Over The Head Of My Ex [Rebirth]

Chapter 98

Chapter 98

He Qingqi wasn’t sure if others had experienced this before: when a girl who was usually reserved and composed looked at you with a gaze that was both intense and shy, even her ears tinged red with embarrassment, yet she was still willing to lay all her emotions bare before you. All her pride and restraint were forgotten. When she tilted her head to look at you, it was as if you were the ruler of her world, the one who controlled everything in her life.

“Qingqi, I love you.”

He Qingqi’s chest heaved with deep breaths. The only response she could give Zhuo Zhiwei was a passionate and fervent kiss.

Zhuo Zhiwei was pushed roughly against the door, her waist pressed tightly against He Qingqi’s burning hands. It was as if He Qingqi had a specific goal in mind, applying so much force that it seemed like she wanted to merge into her. Zhuo Zhiwei found herself unconsciously swaying in rhythm with He Qingqi’s movements.

Her pants had already been pulled halfway down, revealing a stretch of pale skin. Her lips parted slightly as she breathed in soft gasps, but suddenly realizing something, she began to resist intensely.

“Out…outside…”

“Outside?” He Qingqi’s gaze darkened, her voice husky.

Zhuo Zhiwei’s brows furrowed slightly, her dazed eyes filled with a misty haze as she looked at He Qingqi with a vulnerable gaze. “Jing… Jinghan is livestreaming.”

“Let her livestream.” He Qingqi panted, a hint of impatience in her breath. Livestreaming? So what? It wasn’t like they were doing this on camera. Her slender fingers seemed to ignite sparks wherever they touched, and the Zhuo Zhiwei lying beneath her was far from her usual obedient self, carrying a wild intensity. It had been two months since she last touched Zhuo Zhiwei, and now, it was as if she wanted to crush her to pieces, caring nothing for the livestream.

Zhuo Zhiwei raised her graceful neck, struggling with the overwhelming sensations. Her cool pale skin seemed to carry the faint scent of her perfume, her tongue curling with a touch of icy freshness.

As He Qingqi’s hands lifted the hem of Zhuo Zhiwei’s shirt, her delicate waist, toned and slender, was exposed, with a hint of a faintly defined abs line visible. Whether in refusal or invitation, Zhuo Zhiwei pressed He Qingqi’s hand through her clothes.

Trying to suppress the surging emotions within her, Zhuo Zhiwei bit down on her lips and stammered, “If… if someone hears us again… you’ll be sleeping on the floor.”

He Qingqi’s hand froze against a soft spot. Her heart pounded wildly as she swallowed in disbelief. So adorable… But then, like a bolt of lightning, her expression changed. Sleeping on the floor? He Qingqi’s eyes blinked rapidly, suddenly recalling how after she’d lost control a few times in the dorm room, Zhuo Zhiwei had refused to let her touch her for several days.

Her eyebrows shot up in alert, a wave of cool clarity washing over her mind. She couldn’t lose the forest for the trees. She forced down the surge of desire, her throat tightening, and stammered, “I-I won’t do it then…”

Then quickly added, “And I won’t sleep on the floor!” Her eyes were wide, a touch of urgency and panic visible.

“Then you have to be good.” Zhuo Zhiwei’s eyes glistened with moisture as she leaned up and bit her chin.

He Qingqi hurriedly pledged her loyalty, her voice bright and clear, “I’ll be good!” She even stretched the word “good” for emphasis.

Zhuo Zhiwei was charmed by her cuteness, her eyes curving into a beautiful arc filled with indulgence and affection, so sweet it could drown someone.

“Aren’t you going to move your hand?” she said softly, her body relaxing as she tried to control the fluttering in her chest, glancing at the hand still inside her shirt.

Reluctantly, He Qingqi withdrew her arm slowly under Zhuo Zhiwei’s watchful gaze. Zhuo Zhiwei’s face burned hot, and she couldn’t quite explain why, but there was something oddly intimate about the scene.

He Qingqi licked her lips with a trace of reluctance, then wrapped her arms around Zhuo Zhiwei’s shoulders, nuzzling the top of her head with her chin. Pouting, she said, “Then can I at least have a hug?”

“Hug,” Zhuo Zhiwei repeated indulgently, wrapping her arms around He Qingqi’s slender waist and giving a light squeeze. Her fingers could only pinch a bit of skin, and she frowned with concern. “You’ve lost weight again.”

He Qingqi didn’t answer directly but smiled, her brows relaxing. “You make it sound like you’re weighing pork at the market.”

Zhuo Zhiwei chuckled. “Who said you’re a pig?”

He Qingqi sniffled. “Comfort me.”

“Silly~”

He Qingqi smiled but then suddenly froze, her face stiffening with regret. She almost wanted to slap her own mouth—why didn’t she say she’d lost weight because she missed Zhuo Zhiwei!

Her eyes fixed on the top of Zhuo Zhiwei’s head as she silently prayed for her to ask again.

But Zhuo Zhiwei, feeling He Qingqi’s gaze growing heavier, eventually couldn’t take it anymore. Her delicate hand clutched the fabric over He Qingqi’s chest tightly.

Her cheeks flushed, and with her head down, she hesitantly mumbled, “If you really want to…”

He Qingqi suddenly sensed something, letting go of Zhuo Zhiwei and blinking expectantly. “Want?”

Zhuo Zhiwei bit her lip, her eyes closing as she summoned her courage. “We could go to your place!”

He Qingqi stared at her for a moment, her smile growing wider, her eyebrows arching playfully. The look in Zhuo Zhiwei’s eyes darkened, a hint of embarrassment flashing through her gaze. “Fine, forget it!”

She turned, reaching for the door.

“No, no, let’s go.” He Qingqi quickly hugged her from behind, the twinkle in her eyes refusing to fade.

Such a little tsundere, she thought, planting a light kiss on Zhuo Zhiwei’s flushed ear.

It seemed that the suggestion from the other day still intrigued her. Pretending to be all proper…

In the living room, Tao Jinghan had been waiting so long she felt numb. Although her professional smile didn’t waver, and she maintained the appearance of a serious host, her thoughts kept drifting back to the heated noises she had accidentally overheard that night in the next room. The sobs and gasps that had seeped into her ears had made her wish the ground would swallow her up.

She couldn’t help but wonder if the two had ended up kissing again after being apart for so long…

Probably not, she thought, glancing at the livestream screen, where everything still seemed peaceful. Surely, they remembered that this was being broadcast?

The stream remained harmonious, but on the CP (couple pairing) forums, fans were in an uproar. Though there was no evidence, their imaginations ran wild. Two women alone in a room, the door locked for so long, and they conveniently forgot that they were just roommates. The fans were overexcited, practically writing fanfiction in real-time, their hearts pounding with exhilaration.

Just as Tao Jinghan was lost in thought, she heard the door open and instinctively turned her head. The two walked out looking perfectly presentable, their expressions calm as if nothing had happened.

Zhuo Zhiwei, in particular, held her head high, her posture poised with a kind of pride and elegance, as if any improper thoughts about her were nothing but disrespect.

Even Tao Jinghan, who had known them for a long time, was momentarily taken aback, feeling guilty for her earlier suspicions.

But then her rationality returned. After all, the last time, Zhuo Zhiwei had also walked out with the same composure.

With a touch of curiosity and gossip, she examined them. Forget Zhuo Zhiwei; did He Qingqi really have that kind of self-control? When she was in City B, running from one schedule to another, every night, she would go on and on about how much she missed Zhuo Zhiwei. Now that she was finally back, could she really behave so properly?

Suddenly, Tao Jinghan’s eyes lit up with a knowing glint, and she arched an eyebrow meaningfully at He Qingqi. They locked eyes for a brief moment, during which a playful look flashed across He Qingqi’s face.

She noticed the creases on He Qingqi’s clothes.

“Join me in the livestream?” Tao Jinghan invited them with a smile.

As soon as the two appeared on camera, the fans flooded the chat, and the stream buzzed with excitement.

Zhuo Zhiwei, her lips hinting at a smile, seemed to be in a good mood, while He Qingqi casually sat down a little behind Tao Jinghan.

Zhuo Zhiwei’s sharp eyes quickly spotted the small hat, her gaze widening with a hint of surprise. “Is this… a lion?”

She picked up the little hat, curiously inspecting it from different angles.

Her eyes sparkled as if filled with stardust. Turning to look at He Qingqi, she lifted the hat. “Qingqi, is this you?”

The CP fans burst into tears of joy, quicklyrushed to the forums, squealing like prairie dogs.

“Ahhh! I’m going to cry! The couple I ship is definitely real!”

“Does anyone else feel like when Zhiwei says ‘Qingqi,’ it’s always so charming, slow and sweet?”

“Yes, exactly! It’s like listening to her voice could make you pregnant.” Someone replied excitedly.

“Zhiwei is just too perfect!”

“It’s a gift from a fan.” He Qingqi replied with a cute smile, her brows arched.

“It’s adorable.” Zhuo Zhiwei nodded in agreement, then added, “And it looks just like you.”

Tao Jinghan silently listened as the two showered each other with affection, feeling like she was stuffed with too much sweetness. She continued to maintain her professional smile despite feeling a bit overwhelmed.

What was the point of having three people in a livestream? In the end, wasn’t it just her doing all the talking?

A single tear of sympathy for herself might as well have fallen.

Meanwhile, the fans watching were quick to notice something about He Qingqi. There seemed to be a chilly breeze surrounding her, making her look lonely and pitiful.

In contrast, another small corner of the screen, where Zhuo Zhiwei and He Qingqi stood, seemed to be bursting with pink bubbles. The two played happily, taking turns placing the little hat on each other’s heads. Zhuo Zhiwei’s usually composed face blossomed into a radiant smile, her white teeth peeking through as her lips curved upward, almost reaching the sky.

The solo fans were momentarily taken aback, reminded of a time over half a year ago during a magazine photoshoot when Zhuo Zhiwei seemed similarly carefree and lively. It was genuine happiness, as warm as the first light of the winter sun.

Some couldn’t help but glance at He Qingqi. It seemed that all this joy was brought by her, and she really did look… quite beautiful. Even the scar along her brow bone seemed to add a touch of vitality.

If Zhiwei were to be with this person… Suddenly, they shook their heads, catching themselves. What were they thinking? They snapped out of it. It was just the lingering effect of accidentally visiting the couple’s forum earlier!

They were dedicated solo fans! Firm and unwavering!

As the playful exchange continued, Zhuo Zhiwei’s smile gradually faded. It seemed she had suddenly remembered something. For a moment, she hesitated. Before she could dwell on it too long, the small hat was placed on her head.

She sat cross-legged, looking at He Qingqi, and whispered in her ear, “Isn’t this a bit too much?”

He Qingqi seemed puzzled, tilting her head. “What do you mean?”

“Being so affectionate like this… We look like newlyweds.” Her expression quickly turned mischievous again.

Zhuo Zhiwei gave her a playful scolding glance, then motioned toward Tao Jinghan with a hint of embarrassment. “We were supposed to be livestreaming together, and now we’re…”

Before she could finish, He Qingqi interrupted nonchalantly, “It’s fine.” She reassured her with a comforting look, her eyes twinkling like stars. “We’re just having a little romance. Let Jinghan handle the stream on her own.”

Puffing out her chest with confidence, she added, “She likes hosting by herself anyway!”
