Shrouding the Heavens

Chapter 480: Chapter 485: Saint?

Chapter 480: Chapter 485: Saint?

The members of the Ziwei Sect arrived first. Their aura was strong and imposing as they surrounded the old madman and the others, each one full of murderous intent.

The elder leading them had white hair and a white beard. He was a “half-step sovereign,” emaciated but spirited, with eyes shining like little suns.

“You dare cripple a disciple of my Ziwei Sect?!” one of the elders, fiery in temperament, immediately fixed his gaze on Li Heishui and his companions, his words chilling.

The pitiful little girl was a bit scared. Sitting nervously on the old madman’s shoulders, she whispered, “Grandpa, your people tried to kill Big Brother first…”

“What does a little girl like you understand!” The elder didn’t even glance at her, his gaze, as cold as an ice blade, fixed on Li Heishui, the big black dog, the old madman, and Ye Fan, who was not far away.

“You are all doomed!” another elder declared bluntly, pointing his finger directly at Li Heishui and the old madman.

The Ziwei Sect members were extremely aggressive. They surrounded those they considered ‘meat on the chopping board,’ believing they held the power of life and death and could decide their captives’ fate with a single thought.

At this moment, the big black dog was so excited it wanted to shout. Its four large paws gripped the ground firmly. Facing so many powerful opponents, it showed not a trace of fear, instead grinning widely in a cunning smirk.

Then, it spoke boldly, “You really intend to kill us? Bringing only a dozen or so people doesn’t seem like enough. At the very least, you should have invited one or two genuine sovereigns.”

The group of over ten were all powerful cultivators, especially the elder leading them, who was a half-step sovereign. Upon hearing the dog’s words, his face immediately darkened.

This was blatant mockery. A half-step sovereign leading so many powerful cultivators was more than enough not only to kill the younger generation but also to deal with formidable elders.

“Such arrogance…” one of them said, his voice chilling and his expression even more frightening.

“Your group coming to kill us is indeed a bit of a stretch. Listen to my advice: you’d better leave quietly,” Li Heishui taunted maliciously. “Go and invite your supreme Sect Hierarch. Otherwise, you truly aren’t enough.”

“Ignorant juniors! You lack strength, yet your mouths are so big. Aren’t you afraid of biting your tongues in this strong wind?!” The Ziwei Sect members couldn’t stand these two any longer.

The two black-hearted fellows were feeling invigorated, both wanting to howl at the sky. Hearing the retort, they both chuckled slyly and said no more.

“Kill them! Get rid of them immediately! Don’t delay for a single moment!” one of the Great Elders, his face as dark as water, was the first to act, lunging forward to attack.

His right hand flashed with purple brilliance. A purple Emperor Star, which he had cultivated and which was a manifestation of his Daoist Practice, spun rapidly within his palm and fingers.

The purple Emperor Star quickly enlarged, covering the entire sky before falling like a Great Mountain.

BOOM!

Awe-inspiring divine energy surged like a roaring purple ocean, making the onlookers tremble. The Peak Dragon Transformation cultivators unleashed their full force, clearly intending to obliterate their enemies in body and soul!

The big black dog and Li Heishui, in perfect concert, both hid behind the old madman, using their eyes to provoke the more than ten powerful cultivators of the Ziwei Sect.

The old madman made no response, standing there like a tall wooden stake. He didn’t even glance at these people, as if he were petrified.

BOOM!

The purple Emperor Star pressed down, and the boundless power of the Dao surged forth, completely flooding the area.

However, all the endless purple radiance disintegrated before the old madman, like candlelight in the wind, swiftly extinguished. Moreover, when the purple Emperor Star descended, it vanished before him as if it were a mud bull plunging into the sea.

“Who is this person?!” The powerful cultivator from the Ziwei Sect was stunned.

“Kill!”

The others who had advanced with him also attacked. Dazzling lights emanated from their hands as they unleashed various Star Ancient Treasures, which transformed into a meteor shower.

This patch of heaven and earth silently crumbled. Various colored lights fell like raindrops, yet none could harm the old madman in the slightest.

He stood there motionless, quietly, completely ignoring the numerous spiritual treasures. All the terrifying Weapons shattered before his ancient attire.

Soundlessly, the various ancient treasures turned to dust, unable to advance even a fraction of an inch.

“Who are you?!” The cultivators who had advanced were shocked. They retreated step by step, their faces pale with alarm.

The old madman was extremely imposing, towering two or three heads above ordinary people. His hair was disheveled, and his empty eyes swept over them. Then, he suddenly waved his sleeve, and in an instant, a fierce gale erupted between heaven and earth.

Like dry leaves, four powerful cultivators were instantly swept up into the high sky. Then, just as quickly, they vanished without a trace, disappearing into the boundless horizon.

Everyone was dumbfounded. Those were cultivators at the Peak of Dragon Transformation, yet they had been sent flying with a single wave of a sleeve, turning into small black dots that disappeared at the edge of the sky.

Goodness only knew how many miles they had been flung!

The fact that these individuals were swept away and never returned left everyone speechless, their mouths agape.

What level of expert was this? With a wave of his sleeve, he had swept away several great masters as if swatting flies, making them vanish completely, unable to return.

“Who is this… divine being? Where did he come from? Why is he so terrifying?!”

“Oh my heavens! Was I hallucinating just now? He ignored attacks from Peak Dragon Transformation cultivators, and with a flick of his sleeve, those few… just vanished!”

“This is too frightening! What kind of sacred entity is this? How come I’ve never heard of him before…”

The onlookers were scared witless, their chins almost hitting the ground. Each stared wide-eyed. They had previously witnessed the old madman’s might when he killed cultivators at the eighth stage of Dragon Transformation with a mere glare.

Now, witnessing his unparalleled divine might once more, everyone felt a chill from head to toe, shivering all over. They couldn’t even begin to guess what Realm this terrifying figure belonged to.

Could it be the legendary Peak Old Peacock King?! Someone shivered as such a thought emerged in their mind.

The Ziwei Sect members were stunned for a moment. Just a disheveled, strange man, seemingly only about forty years old—how could he be so terrifyingly dreadful?

“You… who exactly are you, and what is your name?” the Ziwei Sect members shouted, but their confidence was clearly wavering.

Could it really be an old Peak Peacock King emerging from the Great Wilderness? The Ziwei Sect’s half-step sovereign looked solemn, but a fierce gleam soon flashed in his eyes as he murmured, “Impossible. Such a person cannot exist. Of all the old Peacock Kings who sought to extend their lives, none have ever come out of a Forbidden Land alive!”

He suddenly lifted his head and said, “Friend, what kind of sovereign might you be?”

True sovereigns possessed boundless magical power, enough to dominate the world. They were the Heroic Lords and Peacock Kings of their respective territories, unstoppable by anyone.

The entire land belonged to them, for they were the masters of great inheritances, immeasurably more powerful than half-step sovereigns.

The old madman gave no response, standing motionless like an iron pagoda, as if everything in the outside world was unrelated to him and could not stir him.

“Aren’t you a bit too arrogant? Our Ziwei Sect is the supreme Great Sect of the Eastern Wastelands! Even if you are a peerless sovereign, you shouldn’t underestimate us!”

The old madman remained unmoved, offering no reaction at all. But the big black dog couldn’t stay quiet, barking, “What’s so great about the Ziwei Sect? Unless your Sect Hierarch comes in person, how dare the likes of you speak so conceitedly…”

The half-step sovereign’s expression turned cold. He stood motionless for a long time before saying chillingly, “In this world, sometimes great strength alone cannot solve problems…”

“What’s happening? Why do I feel dizzy?” Li Heishui suddenly cried out.

“Damn it, even I’m feeling a bit weak…” the big black dog grumbled, gritting his teeth.

“The pitiful little girl is dizzy too…” The pitiful little girl was feeling confused and almost slipped from the old madman’s shoulder.

A cold smirk appeared at the corner of the half-step sovereign’s mouth. “I told you, sometimes in this world, strength alone isn’t enough!”

“What did you do?” Li Heishui demanded.

“Forbidden Emperor Flower Powder! Even peerless Peacock Kings can be poisoned and wiped out with it. You can all prepare to die!” the half-step sovereign declared, his expression sinister.

He was intimidated by the old madman, his heart filled with fear. Thus, he resorted to any means necessary, deploying the Forbidden Emperor Flower Powder in an attempt to eliminate everyone.

“The Ziwei Emperor Flower! It’s actually such an unparalleled poison! It’s rumored that in the distant past, it caused a shocking tragedy, poisoning multiple Peacock Kings simultaneously at a grand gathering.”

“This is a terrifying demonic flower! He actually resorted to such a method!”

Everyone was alarmed and retreated hastily, fearing even the slightest contact, which would render them completely ruined.

If not for the big black dog and Li Heishui having eaten the sacred fruit from the Ancient Desolation Forbidden Land, and if not for the pitiful little girl’s unique physique, they would have instantly become a pool of pus and blood.

Even so, they couldn’t withstand it. They were swaying, on the verge of collapsing unconscious.

“Uncle…” the pitiful little girl called out to the old madman in her confusion.

The Ziwei Sect members were shocked. The Ziwei Emperor Flower hadn’t immediately poisoned these few to death. This was truly alarming, and they all sensed that big trouble was brewing.

The old madman glanced at the pitiful little girl and brushed her brow with his hand. Instantly, the tiny, seven-colored speck of light on her forehead flowed with a sacred glow. The little one immediately revived, completely unharmed.

Then, the old madman slapped the big black dog and Li Heishui each on the back. Their bodies shook violently, and a blazing purple light erupted from within each of them.

They cried out one after another, then fully recovered. Not a trace of discomfort remained. Their enormous Qi surged, and they were completely unharmed.

“The people of the Ziwei Sect are so cruel, to even deploy such means!” People in the distance discussed, all feeling a chill.

“Go!” the Ziwei Sect’s half-step sovereign shouted in a low voice, being the first to fly away, wanting to escape this place. The old madman’s display had filled his heart with terror.

“Senior, you can’t let them escape! Their hearts are too vicious! They should be wiped out!” Li Heishui shouted.

Silently, the old madman reached out a large hand, which suddenly stretched to the horizon. It seemed he too was displeased with such malicious methods and had truly decided to act.

This scene was horrifying. The Ziwei Sect members had flown for an unknown distance, becoming tiny black dots about to disappear at the edge of the vast horizon. Yet, the old madman’s large hand suddenly reached out, covering the entire sky!

This hand was incredibly large, stretching out for tens of miles and filling the distant sky, capable of infinite transformations.

“AH!”

The half-step sovereign roared. The mountains and rivers shook, and many great mountains below seemed on the verge of crumbling. His body expanded hugely, becoming like a titan standing between heaven and earth, as he tried to resist that massive hand.

BANG!

But it was futile. The old madman’s large hand grasped him. The incomparably powerful half-step sovereign struggled vigorously.

However, though he deployed a thousand techniques and countless divine mystical arts, all were ineffective, like a mayfly trying to shake a tree!

With a PUFF, the half-step sovereign transformed into a mist of blood within that large hand, instantly becoming dust, ceasing to exist.

The old madman released his hand. With a slight tremor in the void, that part of the sky and earth collapsed. Mists of primal chaos faintly appeared, as if a new world was being created! The other Ziwei Sect members were all engulfed within.

Everyone was stunned. That was a half-step sovereign, yet this disheveled man had crushed him to death with a single grasp. This was truly appalling!

“Heavens, could he be a Saint? How can there be such a terrifying person in the world?!”

“That was a half-step sovereign, one who could look down upon the entire Eastern Wastelands, yet he was crushed as easily as an ant!”

“Is this… still human? How can such a powerful figure exist in the current age?!”

No one was left unshaken; everyone was nearly trembling. The old madman’s strength exceeded any Realm they could imagine.
