Chapter 399: Returning To Sector S (2)

Some of Pian Huo’s saliva had dripped on Wheeze’s fur, so the first thing it did after noticing was to slap the woman with its forefoot. Naturally, the woman and the cat started arguing with each other, pushing and yelling and scratching until they left Cillin’s sight and stepped into the building.

They stopped arguing as soon as they entered Pian Huo’s room.

Pian Huo poked the thoughtful-looking cat and asked, “Cillin wouldn’t get angry, would he?”

“I… think so?” Wheeze recalled the fair amount of fish biscuits it ate before it fell asleep. That was why Cillin’s pants weren’t just stained by saliva, but also some suspicious debris and… a fishy smell. It was the smell of fish biscuits and dried fish.

After Pian Huo and Wheeze escaped into the building, Cillin looked back and forth between the two massive saliva stains on his pants and the woman and the cat who escaped into the building and refused to show up since. Finally, he slapped away the food crumbs and grass on his pants.

If there was one thing they were good about, it was running away from the mess they made!

Samburt and the others did not know that Czedow had taken out the second group of pursuers. He wasn’t sure if Pian Huo knew. She did receive some possessions from Si Huang after all.

It wasn’t until nighttime that Czedow finally returned. The arrangements at certain places had all been made, and he would finish some of the projects in the master plan by tomorrow. Wheeze would be responsible for digging.

For the next two days, Samburt and his men did not encounter any pursuers at all. The man was confused and even suspicious of Cillin because of this. It wasn’t until Pian Huo told him that Cillin had taken out two groups of pursuers that he realized what happened and felt at ease.

After Czedow had taken out the initial group of ten, he and Wheeze took out the second group of pursuers together. As for Cillin, he was guarding Samburt’s residence this entire time.

On the fifth day, Yu Linglong contacted Cillin. Reinforcements had arrived.

After verifying each other’s identities, Cillin escorted Samburt to the spot where the person who would take over his responsibilities awaited. An invisible spaceplane was parked there.

Cillin did not recognize the person, but Samburt did. He was currently engaging them in a conversation.

“Is this mission complete, Cillin?” Wheeze asked with a pat on the cheek.

“It is,” Cillin replied. Yu Linglong mentioned that their mission was complete as soon as they handed Samburt over to the corresponding person.

The person conversing with Samburt gave Cillin a glance and waved his hand. Two people carried three boxes carrying their mission rewards out of the spaceplane. The box were full of exotic metals that could be sold for a great price anywhere in the galaxy.

Wheeze curled its tail in satisfaction after seeing the three boxes. After calculating the exotic metal’s true value, it deducted their expenses, the cost of building the massive underground protection network, and its personal labor fee. There was still a lot left after that; enough to purchase a large amount of fish biscuits.

“Thank you for everything, Cillin.” Samburt thanked Cillin sincerely prior to his departure. Although he was dissatisfied with the Yu Family, Samburt knew he wouldn’t have nearly as easy a time if he hadn’t run into Cillin’s group. He might not even live to tell the tale.

“You’re welcome. It’s just a mission.”

Samburt paused for a moment before asking, “Do you approve of the Yu Family’s viewpoints?”

“I do not know what kind of viewpoints or standpoints the Yu Family has. I’m just a Hunter.” Cillin looked at Samburt and said, “All things considered, you did well.”

Cillin believed that Samburt had outdone many others in his position. At the very least, it was enough to win his approval.

Samburt smiled and ended the conversation there. He then took the lead and stepped into the spaceplane. Prior to embarking, Samburt gave Pian Huo one last look and let out a regretful sigh.

The spaceplane quickly vanished from view and departed this planet.

“Wher are you going next, Cillin?” Pian Huo asked while following behind Cillin.

“Sector S.”

Pian Huo: “......”

Pian Huo was planning to experience the hunts of a hunter squad herself. She did not expect Cillin’s next destination to be her “home”, Sector S. She knew she wouldn’t have much freedom after entering Sector S. After all, the three major factions ruling over Sector S were all familiar with her. ŕàΝŐ𝐛ЕṨ

“Are you meeting with Little Flying Snake or Gen Xingfu?” Pian Huo asked.

“No, I’m meeting with the ‘Queen’.”

Cillin’s answer puzzled Pian Huo deeply. Angenia was famously indifferent toward most people, but she found out that Angenia was exceptionally kind toward Cillin; more so than even Gen Xingfu and the rest of her descendants. Moreover, not long after Cillin’s squad had gone to the Golden Beginning, the depressed and listless Gen Xingfu had become a lot more optimistic as well. Although he still looked sickly, it was like he was a different person from before.

After some careful considerations, Pian Huo ultimately decided to head back with Cillin. She had been away for a very long time. It was inevitable that her master was going to teach her a lesson though. In fact, every time she returned from an outing, her master would criticize her to hell and back. Not that it stopped her from going out, of course. The current Fire Phoenix did not stop her either. It was one thing many people were confused about.

Prior to leaving, Cillin returned to the home Genya once lived in and pressed the curly leaf pattern on his finger against the almost bald Fuji Tree. The next moment, the tree went inside the ring, and a hole appeared where it used to be. From now on, there won't be a Fuji Tree in this house anymore.

“Are we coming back in the future?” Wheeze asked.

“Of course,” Cillin answered.

“When?”

“I don’t know. Maybe in a few years. Maybe in a few decades.” One thing for certain, he would be back.

Pain Huo did not take the same spaceplane as Cillin. She had her own ride. In fact, Samburt’s group had come to this planet on her spaceplane.

Cillin did not ask any member of the Eleventh Squad to come with him. This was a personal matter after all. It was one thing to travel to Sector S with the squad because it was on the way, and another to purposely bring the squad there. Besides, the Eleventh Squad had their own arrangements to attend to. As Yin Wushe said, tensions were rising after the Hunters war. It also hinted at the coming of a new storm; one that would see most players wiped out from the galaxy.

Be it the conflict among the hunters, the infighting among the Armies, or the clash among the politicians, none of it affected Sector. The fact that it was a former prison had prevented either force from taking advantage, and after its near independent system had crumbled away and seeped into the forces and organizations of Sector S, the situation had developed to the point where the three ruling forces of Sector S were guarding it personally. Naturally, foreign forces found it exceedingly difficult to carve a foothold.

A lot of people might look down on Sector S’ mismatched forces, but they knew it would be folly to take them lightly after the former captives of the prison had joined them.

The forces were seriously mismatched. There were killers, discarded Hunters, politicians who lost their battles and were discarded as pawns as a result, fearsome generals of the Armies, and more. They had all been integrated into the so-called mismatched forces of Sector S after the prison was abolished.

Sector S had stricter security as a matter of course, but Cillin made his public identity public and emphasized that he belonged to the Golden Beginning after entering Sector S. But of course, he did not reveal his private identity.

As Cillin owned a pass given to him by Angenia herself, none of the patrols tried to stop his passage. It was why he encountered no difficulties after entering Sector S.

That said, a patrol squad belonging to Fire Phoenix blocked their path before they would make way for Golden Beginning’s headquarters. Specifically, the patrol squad was stopping Pian Huo, but because she was traveling together with Cillin, they were stopped together.

The patrol squad harbored no malicious intent. They greeted Cillin courteously when they were moving to intercept. Judging from Pian Huo’s reaction, whoever helmed the patrol squad was very familiar with her. He even invited Cillin’s group to tour their ship if they so wished.

Judging from the conversation Wheeze intercepted, these people obviously weren’t planning on attacking Cillin. They just wanted to host Pian Huo and her friends.

“I got it,” Czedow said.

Prior to boarding the patrol ship, Czedow had uncovered the man’s identity and former identity by checking his name, image, and footage.

The military news Cillin had obtained from Yin Wushe was over a decade old. Currently, it was difficult even for Yin Wushe  to obtain the latest detailed information.

“Ranzai, former colonel of the Genxing Alliance Army, and a former subordinate of Si Fang…”

Czedow projected all the information he could find. Although it wasn’t detailed, it was enough for them to figure out his former identity.

Ranzai was one of the people who was sacked and thrown into prison together with Si Fang, though he wasn’t imprisoned in the top security prison. Even the lowest ranking officer in that position was a major general, and Ranzai wasn’t qualified. However, that was also why Ranzai did not die in a sea of fire together with the prisoners locked up in the top security prison. He joined Fire Phoenix after the prison was abolished.
