Chapter 1336 - 677: A Pool of Pitch-Black Sludge (Part 2)
Keke could fall asleep instantly even in such a situation; Xu Xin couldn’t believe it wasn’t intentional.
This little creature must have voluntarily fallen asleep specifically to affect the alien invader.
Because it was purposeful sleep, the little one’s strange hypnotic ability only worked on the alien invader in the room and did not affect the surrounding explorers.
Of course, except for Xu Xin.
Xu Xin felt drowsiness and sleepiness, likely because he was holding Keke, having direct contact with it.
However, he was only somewhat sleepy, not comparable to the pile of nearly comatose sludge in the room.
Understanding this, he felt even more energized.
Keke truly was his treasure panda.
Xu Xin glanced at the slumbering Keke in his arms, wanting to pet it, but withdrew his hand.
It would be bad if he accidentally woke the little one.
Despite the wave of sleepiness coming over him, he managed to endure.
He stepped back a few steps, giving way at the already partly opened door, and gave Wen Guixin a signal.
Wen Guixin nodded, took a deep breath, and moved forward.
Entering a metal room with just a small opening was genuinely nerve-wracking.
Who knew whether, upon entering, the hard-to-open door would suddenly close and lock her inside?
What she was doing now was akin to walking into the lion’s den.
But only she could do this, so she couldn’t back down.
"I’ll go in with you," Xu Ying whispered from behind Wen Guixin, "If anything goes wrong, I’ll teleport you out immediately."
"Alright," Wen Guixin nodded promptly.
With Xu Ying assuring her, she no longer hesitated and slipped through the gap sideways.
Xu Ying followed closely behind.
Xu Xin considered for a moment, looked at Keke in his arms, then gestured to those outside to wait, and sidled inside too.
Though he might not be of much use, Keke in his arms certainly would be.
With this sleeping little one around, the alien invader would stay asleep, allowing their actions to proceed more smoothly.
After entering, Xu Xin saw the whole view inside.
It was a very small room, roughly the size of an ordinary residential bedroom.
Inside, there was almost nothing except a metallic "bed" and a metal table with a small raised device on it, the purpose of which was unknown. There was nothing else noteworthy.
Xu Xin’s entry surprised Wen Guixin and Xu Ying.
Xu Ying glared at him, pointing as if to ask: What are you doing in here?
They were now less than two meters away from the puddle of black sludge, too scared to speak in case noise awakened it.
Xu Xin pointed at Keke in his arms and then at the sleeping alien invader.
Wen Guixin and Xu Ying, both sharp, realized what Xu Xin meant after a few seconds of puzzlement.
They were familiar with Keke’s ability, especially after living inside the world tree for months, all of them having been affected by Keke’s ability during this time.
The two widened their eyes, looking from Keke in Xu Xin’s arms back to the alien invader.
If not for the proximity risk, they’d have exclaimed out loud.
Keke’s ability was unbelievably strong, able even to influence the alien invader!
Xu Xin gestured towards the sludge lying on the bed, urging Wen Guixin to act quickly.
He didn’t know how long Keke’s ability would last, so it was best to finish swiftly.
Wen Guixin eyed the black sludge, furrowed her brows, and pursed her lips in apparent distaste.
However, she didn’t hesitate in her actions, directly placing her hand on the sludge.
The moment her hand touched it, the black sludge shivered violently and then began to writhe.
Even the dozens to hundreds of eyelids all over its body started trembling slightly.
Xu Xin could see Wen Guixin’s mouth twitching, her eyelids flickering uncontrollably, and even her body recoiling slightly.
It wasn’t her fault; the writhing mucus under her hands was causing even Xu Xin, just watching, to feel physiologically uncomfortable.
...It was indeed quite disgusting.
Xu Ying reached out to grab both Wen Guixin and Xu Xin’s arms.
If anything happened, she’d immediately teleport them out.
A half-body squeezed through the door gap again.
It was Lou Fei’Er.
Seeing Xu Xin enter made her worry, so she came in to check.
Xu Xin waved her back out quickly.
It was too dangerous to be halfway through like that!
If the door suddenly closed, they’d be in trouble.
However, with Lou Fei’Er’s speed, unless it closed super-fast, she’d be able to dodge. That’s why she dared to act like this, but to Xu Xin, it was nerve-wracking.
Lou Fei’Er glanced at Wen Guixin’s hand on the creature, blinked, inhaled lightly, and pulled her head back.
It seemed she agreed the creature’s current state was indeed quite gross.
Xu Xin also turned to the alien invader.
This alien invader, compared to the one they blew up in the factory before, was actually more visually tolerable.
