Chapter 12 – Overcoming
While trying to entertain the gods, I got caught in a fight between Creator God-sama and the God of War-sama and the other gods, and I threw up.
“I guess it is about five minutes to the harbor, right?”
I’m not sure if I can safely say that the hospitality of the gods went smoothly… but it was over anyway.
I was quite happy after being thrown into the room and having a bath, and I think it wasn’t a bad time, as it turned out.
The God of Light-sama and the Goddess of the Forest-sama came to the room to apologize, and they listened to my complaints about various things and promised to give a lecture to the Creator God-sama.
In the evening, the God of Gastronomy-sama joined us with home-cooked food so I could enjoy a drink surrounded by delicious home-cooked food and the goddesses. That was enough for me.
I also enjoyed my time alone after the gods left. It is a luxury to be surrounded by beautiful women, but it is important for a man to spend time alone. I am glad I remembered that my self-indulgent way of spending time is a wonderful way of spending time.

“Ines. What I want to ask is why Rimu and Pent seem to get along so well…”

She wants to meet him, so she takes Pent to Princess Annemarie’s room. Pent is afraid of Rimu and keeps his distance from him.
The distance between them does not decrease at all. Princess Annemarie is curious and asks Ines a question.
Princess Annemarie, who understands what is going on, is inspired and says that she will do something about it.
Princess Annemarie’s efforts to come between Rimu and Pent bring them closer together.
After that, they become good friends while playing together.
“Ines. Children are amazing.”
I thought it would be impossible for them to get along until Pent grew up and got over his trauma, but he did while I was away for a while.
“Thanks to Princess Annemarie.”
“Yes. I should do something to repay her.”
Three Slimes of different colors, a baby Sea Serpent, and a loli mermaid princess. It’s a combination I don’t understand, but it’s a funny sight.
It is thanks to Princess Annemarie that this sight can be seen, so I must be sure to thank her for it.
“Princess Annemarie said that if she could help Wataru-sama, she would be recognized as a real adult. If you want to thank her, she might be more pleased with a word of thanks than a gift.”
…I have a feeling that if I express my gratitude to her, I would inadvertently allow her to stay on the Dark Elf Island.
I appreciate Felicia’s advice, but it’s not the same as this. Let’s muddle through this time with an assortment of sweets from the Chris.
“Wataru-sama. I’m sorry to interrupt your pleasant conversation, but could you give me a moment of your time?”
When I offered the Chris’ assortment of sweets, the mermaids were amazed at the rare treats, Princess Annemarie was overjoyed, and Rimu, Pent, Fuu-chan, Beni-chan, and Carla-san were delighted with their snacks; then a beautiful mermaid came over to talk to me.
“Lea-san, isn’t it? Yes, it’s okay. What is it? Shall we switch places?”
For a moment, I couldn’t remember her name. It’s right, isn’t it? Her name is Lea-san, isn’t it?
“It’s fine here as it is. Thank you for your concern.”
Ines and Felicia didn’t say anything either, and it seemed that I was right that it was Lea-san.
It was a close call because I was distracted by the uncomfortable feeling of Carla-san naturally mingling with the little ones who were enjoying the sweets.
Hmm… it seems that Lea-san wants to know our plans for the future, even if it’s only roughly.
It has been decided that I can visit on any day that is convenient for me, but she would appreciate it if I had some idea of the schedule so that she can make preparations for hospitality.

Even if I asked to meet the king because I was offering him the treasure, they wouldn’t let me meet him right away, would they? When we offered the Ryu scales, we did something like a dedication parade, so it might take some unscheduled time.

Alessia-san said it was too much trouble to meet the king. I feel a little sorry for the King of the Aquamarine Kingdom, even though he didn’t specifically ask us to visit him. But, well… it’s certainly inconvenient.
Even if the Mermaid Kingdom were fun, it would be a disappointing end to the trip if you had to go through the hassle afterward.
It’s possible that there’s no fun to be had in the Mermaid Kingdom, but… just going to the Mermaid Kingdom is a memory, and since we’re diving in the ocean with the sacred treasure, it’s sure to be as much fun as scuba diving. I checked the expressions of the other group members, and they didn’t seem to disagree with Alessia-san’s opinion, so we decided to go with it.
“I understand. Then, let’s get this done first and go to the Mermaid Kingdom. Alessia-san. The offering process goes through the Adventurer’s Guild, doesn’t it? How long will it take?”
“Well… I’m not sure. If it’s a simple item, we just go through the guild and hand it over to the officials, and that’s it. If it’s a treasure, there’s a good chance that it will be presented directly to the king. Then, it would be up to the king’s discretion.”
It depends on the king’s convenience… If he’s a busy type of king, it will take some time.

I wanted to play with Rimu and spend some loving time with Ines and Felicia when I got back, but it’s still morning, and we should discuss the matter with the Adventurers’ Guild.
When I told Princess Annemarie that I was leaving, she looked sad as she hugged Rimu. It was heartbreaking.
I left the room and asked her to play with Rimu and the others for the rest of the night. I wondered what a familiar is, but I guess it’s too late for that since Rimu often goes out alone or plays with Carla-san and the others. But I feel a bit sad.

When I arrived at the Adventurers’ Guild, Flora-san was sitting at the reception counter. Flora-san is very quick to talk to me.
“Ara, Wataru-san. How can I help you? Private conversation…? Is it about me getting a job earlier?”
Flora-san asked me with an expectant look, but I didn’t expect her to take it that way.
“…No, please, that will be as planned. As for the details, I’d prefer to discuss it in a private room, if possible.”
She looked extremely disappointed. Well, that means she wants to work that much, so as an employer, I’m grateful for that.
“I understand. Please wait a moment.”
Flora-san, who had returned to the face of a receptionist, got up from her seat and went to someone who looked like a higher-up in the back. She must have gone to get permission.
“Well then, let me show you the way.”
Flora-san returned and led me to the private room. On the way there, Flora-san told me with a smile that she was having trouble being the center of attention because of her good looks polished on the Chris.
I didn’t know what to say, so I half smiled and went through with it because I was more troubled than she was. What would have been the right answer?
