Chapter 27 – Difference in Worldview

I gave the letters from the God of Light-sama and the others to Claretta-san, Carla-san, and Felicia. In Carla-san’s case, it was a food report from the God of Gastronomy-sama, so she only provided recommended dishes, but the letters from the God of Light-sama and the Goddess of the Forest-sama struck a chord with Claretta-san and Felicia, who are believers, and they both ended up staying at the church. Faith is a hard thing.

“Well, the only other big event on this island is the day after tomorrow, when we invite the dark elves from the island to the Chris. Felicia, how are the preparations going?”

Both Claretta-san and Felicia came out of church the next day, and I had a lot of fun with Rimu and Pent. My spirit is pretty full because I was soaked in love at night.

And, I hate to say it, but compared to entertaining Creator God-sama, entertaining the simple dark elves is a piece of cake, honestly.

Well, I will still entertain them with all my heart.

“Yes, I have told everyone that Master will invite them, and I have made plans accordingly. I’ve also asked the mermaids to join in the socializing, and I think everything is ready to go.”

Felicia was very happy when she told me about the preparations. I think she’s happy, too, imagining the joy of all the dark elves. I feel a little relieved.

“I see. Then it’s all right. Oh, by the way, there was talk before about building a meeting place in cooperation with the mermaids, but what happened to that?”

I’ve been so busy with God-related things lately that I haven’t really paid attention to the mermaid village.

I’ve been looking forward to the completion of the village ever since I saw that colorful completion plan, so I’m quite curious to see the progress.

“They are still in the process of creating the underwater village first, so the joint work has not been completed yet. After the underwater village is completed to some extent, they plan to connect the planned meeting place to the ground level. So the joint work will start around that time.”

I see. All the mermaids are looking forward to having their own homes, and it seems that they feel a little bad about renting a room on the Chris, so it’s only natural that they prioritize the construction of their homes.

At the same time, they are also enjoying the rare luxury liner, so I think mermaids are surprisingly good at what they do.

“Roger that. If the joint work is still to come, the day after tomorrow’s invitation will be even more important. Let’s prepare well and entertain them.”

If everyone gets to know each other well before the work, the work will go smoothly. From then on, if they can communicate well during the joint work, there should be no conflicts between the races.

“Yes! I will do my best to make sure there are no mistakes.”

Felicia’s spirits seem high enough. Well, it’s a feast for the dark elves, including her own family members who have been struggling, where the tension is maxed out with a letter from the Goddess of the Forest-sama, so it’s only natural that she would get into the spirit.

However, Felicia is in charge of the event, so I only have to lend a hand when she asks me to.

I feel lonely doing nothing, so what should I do until the day after tomorrow?

…Come to think of it, the dark elves like to sing, don’t they?

The welcome party will be in the main hall, but what about using the dance hall for the after-party? All kinds of music can be played, and I think it’s an excellent idea.

But if I suddenly make unscheduled plans, Felicia’s arrangements will get out of order.

Instead of using it as an after-party, I think it would be better to make it sound like the dance hall is also available for casual use.

I can’t ask Felicia, who’s busy, to prepare the dance hall, so I’ll do it, but Ines and Alessia-san and the others seem to be free, so I’ll ask them to help. It’s getting a bit fun, isn’t it?

***

“Ah, what can I say? It’s just that. The differences between the races are so obvious, aren’t they?”

I am sorry for thinking that entertaining the simple dark elves was a piece of cake compared to entertaining the Creator God-sama.

I didn’t expect to stumble upon this from the very beginning.

“That’s right. I am of the same race, but I didn’t expect this.”

“What should we do?”

“What do you think we should do?”

“I don’t know…”

Felicia, don’t look at me like you’re looking for help. I didn’t expect this situation either, so I don’t know what to do.

I didn’t expect that the dark elves I had invited to the Chris would be like a borrowed cat with so many different worldviews.

I greeted the village chief, and he pulled at his legs like a newborn fawn.

For the moment, the dark elves who had boarded the ship were frozen in a corner of the glittering main hall, shivering and looking like the end of the world.

“Felicia was fine, wasn’t she?”

“I experienced it step by step with Master, so I didn’t feel much discomfort.”

“I see…”

So she was fine with it because she was gradually getting used to it.

Aside from the adults, the children are looking around with great interest, so if those children would run around and play, it would ease the tension… but since their parents are holding them tightly, it seems impossible for them to do so.

The gods played around without tension, as they should.

The guests of the castle were excited to see something unusual, but they didn’t seem to freeze with nervousness, perhaps because it was a gathering of the upper class.

The mermaids… who were accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen, enjoyed themselves in a disciplined manner. Perhaps the fact that they were servants of the royal family had an influence?

Ines’ family was… blinded by beauty products and alcohol.

The dark elves were… trembling.

Perhaps their upbringing was different.

The humans on board have a certain tolerance for luxury, and the dark elves have none.

A hidden village in the deep forest -> a deserted island -> a safe but modest village they built themselves -> a luxury liner.

Yeah, I know. Just the last part is very strange. I don’t blame them for not being able to adapt.

But you can’t leave it the way it is.

Especially the mermaids, led by Princess Annemarie, who wanted to welcome the guests with crackers but lost their timing and got confused.

However, I think it is wonderful that they decided not to blow the cracker after seeing the state of the dark elves.

If they had, there is a good chance that there would have been a screaming hellscape.

“Hmm… should we postpone the toast and just hand out drinks to everyone anyway?”

In any world, anywhere, alcohol is probably the most powerful thing for releasing tension. If drunkenness takes away the reason, at least everyone can get out of their state of shock.

“No, if they drink alcohol in their current state, there will surely be some people who will get very drunk. If they cause trouble for Master, who is taking care of them, they might not be able to recover.”

I don’t mind, but the person who got drunk and did it can’t afford not to care.

The only thing I can think of is to take the time to relax, but with that kind of tension, I’m sure they’ll still be freaking out tomorrow. I feel like I’m stuck.

“…Lunch…”

“Oh, Rimu, just wait a little longer.”

While Felicia and I were having trouble, Rimu’s thought reached me from above. I guess he wondered why we didn’t start eating with a feast all around us.

I think as I let Rimu down from above and nuzzle him. I feel that if I enjoy the wonderful feeling of Rimu, I will have a great idea.

“Master, why don’t we start the feast?”

Just as I was thinking about it but could not think of anything, Ines, who had been preparing the food, came over. I guess she came to see how things were going because it wouldn’t start, no matter how long it took.

I showed her the frightened dark elves and explained the situation.

“I see, well, it’s not surprising, but the way things are going, it doesn’t look like they’re going to start anytime soon.”

“Yes, that’s why I’m in trouble. Should we just stop worrying about it?”

“Hmm, I’m sure they’ll get used to it eventually, but it will take some time. Oh, Master, you have a letter from the Goddess of the Forest-sama, don’t you? Give it to me.”

“Huh? Why?”

I told her about the letter from the God of Light-sama and the others, but why now?

“They were surprised by the luxury liner, weren’t they? So why don’t we surprise them with something more? They may not understand the luxury liner, but they can understand the letter from God, even if they are surprised, so I think it will help them get out of this situation.”

Okay, so you’re trying to fill in the incomprehensible effect with an understandable but greater effect. So if we start the party without them while they come to their senses, I think we can make it work.

Ines is so quick-witted that she can come up with methods I would never have thought of.

“Hey, Ines. It is impolite to use a letter given by the Goddess of the Forest-sama as if it were a practical object.”

I honestly thought it was a nice idea, but Felicia seemed to think otherwise. But if you ask me, it is indeed disrespectful. It’s a difficult situation for an indecisive person like me.

“The Goddess of the Forest-sama cares about the dark elves, so she won’t be offended by something as trivial as this. Besides, you originally wanted to make it public, didn’t you?”

“Yes, but we have to set the stage better…”

The position of Ines and Felicia is reversed.

“The Goddess doesn’t care about such small things. Besides, the mermaids and Alessia and the others are waiting for us, so we have to hurry. Master, please give me the letter.”

“Y-yeah.”

Somehow, I had a feeling that Ines was right, so I summoned the rubber boat that contained the letter and handed it to her. I was by no means defeated by Ines’ momentum.

“Then I’ll show you something.”

“Hey, Ines! Don’t be so rough with it! Good heavens! I’ll do it myself!”

Felicia, annoyed by Ines holding up the letter from the Goddess of the Forest-sama, takes the letter from her and walks toward the group of dark elves as if giving up.

After a short conversation with the village chief, Felicia reveals the letter with a careful hand.

Alessia-san and the others, as well as the mermaids, pay attention to the dark elves, and the large main hall is filled with silence.

“W-whoaaaaaaaa!”

After a moment of silence, the dark elves, realizing who the letter came from, let out a tremendous cheer.

Now, all that’s left is to start the feast unannounced. We have to make sure we don’t miss the timing. We have to take our chances while they’re so excited that they forget what’s going on.

“Rimu. Let’s have a feast, many feasts.”

“…Yes. Rimu will eat a lot of food…”

Now it’s time to feast!
