Chapter 1051: Ceiling

Kyle searched for a couple of Spacetime Light Elementals, but there were barely any. The last time he had been in this area, he had seen tens of thousands.

Now, there were like ten, and all of them chaotically moved around. Without Demons fighting and sacrificing other Demons, there wasn't nearly enough Elemental Energy to support the Law Wells. The Elemental Energies in the Elemental Dimension were slowly normalizing, but it would still take a while for the new Elementals to grow.

This made comprehending the Laws a bit harder for Kyle.

But only a bit.

'You know, this might actually be a good thing,' he thought as he looked at one of the Elementals. 'If I had a bunch of Elementals, I might have taken the easy route. Maybe everyone was right when they said that having too much Energy in a world correlated with the appearance of fewer Ascenders.'

Kyle activated Star Genesis' Formation Array and bathed himself in Spacetime Light Energy. At the same time, he commanded his Elemental to charge at the Spacetime Light Elemental.

The Elemental tried to swat Kyle's Elemental to the side. After all, it was just a weak Peak Crusher Elemental.

But then, Kyle's Elemental suddenly exploded forward. It pulled out its hammer and struck the Spacetime Light Elemental with all of its power.

Inside the Elemental, Kyle was also swinging his hammer. Both activated their Imposing Laws at the same time, and the hammer struck the Spacetime Light Elemental.

One of the enemy Elemental's tentacles broke into pieces and was absorbed by Kyle's Elemental. The Energy washed through its body, damaging it in several places.

The Elemental's senses appeared in Kyle's mind, and he could feel what the Elemental felt. At the same time, his own body was also slowly being corroded by the Spacetime Light Energy.

The Energies washed over both their bodies before they were dumped back into the surroundings. The Spacetime Light Elemental absorbed the Energy and recovered almost all of its power.

After getting injured, the Spacetime Light Elemental became far more aggressive. This time, it actually attacked.

Tendrils of dense Spacetime Light Energy warped the surroundings as they moved towards Kyle's Elemental with extreme precision and speed.

The hammer of Kyle's Elemental cracked, but it wasn't destroyed. Kyle had pushed his Elemental's durability to the peak, but due to the great difference in Realm, the Elemental should still have broken.

The reason why the hammer was still in one piece was its Imposing Law. A hammer was supposed to be indestructible. A hammer was supposed to strike hard things.

A hammer was slow and cumbersome. It didn't have the advantage of an edge, which would make it faster and more agile. According to simple physics, a hammer was even less destructive than a sword.

Mass times acceleration. A body could only put so much power into a swing. It didn't matter if it was a two-handed sword or a huge hammer. In both cases, a body could only push so much power into the weapon. If the mass of the weapon were higher, it would swing more slowly. If the mass of the weapon were lower, it would swing faster. In the end, the kinetic force would be the same.

Yet, swords and spears often had even more power than a hammer due to their design. They were aerodynamic, which meant they had less air resistance.

So then, why did a hammer even exist as a weapon?

Durability.

Edges and tips were thin. If a strong person hit a steel wall with a sword, chances were that the sword would break. In the same situation, the tip of a spear or its shaft might chip or break.

But with a hammer, the strong person could keep hitting the wall without care. A hammer was massive. A human might fear a spear or a sword more, but spears and swords feared hammers.

A hammer was supposed to be hard and unbreakable, and Kyle had included this concept in both of his Imposing Laws. His hammer might not be as strong as other weapons, but it was fearless. It could strike without worry.

The Imposing Laws increased the durability of the Elemental's hammer significantly. With both of his Imposing Laws combined, he could use 99% of his Energy in his strikes. 90% of his Energy was converted by the first Imposing Law, and the remaining 10% were once again converted with 90% efficiency.

Every strike contained 99% of Kyle's existence. If an enemy wanted to break the hammer, they needed the power to break 99% of Kyle's Energy with a single strike. Of course, Kyle wasn't using all of his Energy. If he did, the Elemental would die in an instant.

No, Kyle was only using as much Energy as his Elemental had access to. His Elemental was comprised of eight Level Four Elements, giving it eight times the Energy a Peak Crusher Elemental had.

However, that wasn't even enough to reach the level of an Initial Sage Elemental. The Realm gulf was simply too big.

Yet, with the help of the two Imposing Laws, the hammer was still strong enough to resist a serious attack from the Spacetime Light Elemental. It almost broke, but only almost.

Kyle dumped some of his Energy into his Elemental to heal the cracks in an instant. Then, another clash took place.

BANG!

The two Elementals got injured yet again, and Kyle absorbed Spacetime Light Energy once more.

He didn't need thousands of Elementals to comprehend his Laws.

One was enough.

'Would you look at that. We're the economy!' Kyle thought with a laugh. 'You give me a chunk of Spacetime Light Energy, and I give you the same chunk back. Our shared revenue has increased significantly! Best of all, we don't have to pay taxes! We get to keep all of the Energy we're earning!'

'When we're done, our balance sheets will look amazing!'

BANG!

They clashed again, and the cycle continued.

Kyle broke off a part of the Elemental, consumed it, spat it out, and fed it to the Elemental again.

At the same time, Kyle grew more familiar with his two Imposing Laws. He was in no danger since the enemy Elemental was so weak, but it was still a great target.

Kyle fought for the next 400 years, and finally, he comprehended the Law of Spacetime Light.

His second Law of Hammer had risen to 90.5% quality and quantity.

Sadly, his first Law of Hammer had only changed by a tiny amount. It wasn't even worth mentioning.

After killing the Elemental, Kyle looked at his first Law of Hammer.

'I guess that's the end,' he thought. 'It has improved a little bit, but these improvements were mainly at the start. At some point, it just stopped.'

'If I want 100%, I need to use myself, but then, it wouldn't be the Law of Hammer anymore. In fact, it wouldn't be related to the concept of a hammer at all.'

'I am simply not a hammer.'

Kyle looked at his Elemental.

'But you are a hammer, and you have your own Spirit. At the same time, you are me. In a way, I am a hammer, but only by proxy.'
