Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1090: I Am Me

Chapter 1090: I Am Me

Fierce Breaker kept swinging the hammer. He kept telling himself that he shouldn't get lost while swinging it, but he just couldn't help himself.

It felt so freeing to swing the hammer! There were no worries. There was no pressure. There were no distracting thoughts.

Swinging the hammer just gave him a pure feeling of freedom and purpose.

At some point, he even stopped focusing on comprehending the Law of Immortal Earth.

After 20,000 years of swinging the hammer, he managed to crack the 90%-barrier of his Imposing Law, reaching 91%.

'As expected, the hammer is guiding me towards its Imposing Law. It is telling me how it feels to be a hammer, allowing me to get past the 90% barrier.'

'This is amazing! I fucking love this!'

In the back of his mind, Fierce Breaker noticed that his vocabulary was changing. He was using words he had never or rarely used.

'I'm becoming more like Kyle. I feel like I'm supposed to feel a profound feeling of identity loss, but it just doesn't feel as bad anymore.'

'I feel like I should be ashamed of my mental change. I'm no longer the person I was, and I'm definitely not the person I wanted to be. I'm turning into something I've never wanted to be.'

Fierce Breaker looked at the sky with a helpless expression. 'But my goals have changed. What's so bad about this? Also, wasn't my goal supreme power? With this mindset, my power is advancing at speeds I could have never imagined.'

A feeling of realization and acceptance washed through Fierce Breaker.

'I've lost,' he thought. 'My old mindset is inferior. I desired power more than Kyle, but his growth was always faster than mine.'

'I finally realize that I can't achieve my goal as long as I'm trying to reach my goal. It's contradictory, but it also makes sense. When someone is learning something, thinking about the time when they have learned everything distracts from the process of learning. When you want to learn something, you should focus on learning.'

'When you put yourself under constant pressure, your mind exhausts much faster. When you view training and learning as work, your mind is fighting your instincts. Your instincts view learning as work, and they don't want you to work. Your mind knows that you need to learn, which is why it suppresses your instincts that promote lethargy. Your instincts get suppressed, and your mind is distracted.'

'Yet, if learning is the reward itself, your instincts also want to learn. Instead of resisting your mind, they are helping it. That's how it's supposed to be.'

Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer. 'In my case, it wasn't my instincts that interfered with my comprehension but my mind. My instincts wanted to learn, but my mind was pushing them towards learning things they had no interest in learning. They want to know how Immortal Earth can mimic life, but my mind forces them to focus on Immortal Earth's composition. Logically, understanding its composition first would help with understanding its other aspects, but I'm forcing my instincts to learn something they don't want to learn.'

'I should have just relaxed. I shouldn't have been so tense all the time.'

Fierce Breaker released an empty chuckle. 'But I already knew that, right? I already knew how Kyle became so powerful, but I refused to follow his mindset. I thought my way was better.'

'But is that actually the truth? Did I really refuse to enter such a headspace, or...'

'Did I simply not have the ability? Ignoring all the problems in the world and relaxing is easier said than done. I think, deep down, I knew that I couldn't train like Kyle.'

'I simply don't have the ability to get rid of all of the distractions and focus on training with all of my heart.'

Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer with a small smile.

'You've won, Kyle. I thought that I had a chance at victory, but that was just a delusion. Kyle would say that I was just coping.'

Fierce Breaker looked towards the sky again.

He believed that he should feel despair. He believed that his confidence should fall to the bottom.

And yet, he only felt freedom.

'I've never felt such a profound feeling of freedom. Is achieving supreme power really that important? I can already choose to follow my heart. I can make my own choices.'

'I have agency.'

Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer again. 'Come on, Kyle! Let's continue swinging!'

Fierce Breaker continued swinging his hammer, and for the first time, he swung without any reservations.

There was no resistance inside of him anymore as he allowed the hammer's insights to flow into him.

As more years passed, Fierce Breaker comprehended one Law after the other. Within just a couple of millennia, he comprehended all of the Spacetime Elements, even though he didn't have an Affinity for them.

Within 100,000 years, Fierce Breaker also comprehended all of the Major Elements. At the same time, he also comprehended the Law of Karmic Causality.

Yet, the most important Law he comprehended was Kyle's Infused Complex Law.

A Level 8.5 Law, which was improved to Level Nine by the Core Spark.

Fierce Breaker used the Law and infused one Aspect of Power after the other, shooting through the Realms.

Two-Infused Ascendant, Three-Infused Ascendant, Four-Infused Ascendant.

Major Ascendant. In order to become a Major Ascendant, one didn't need an External Level Eight Law. There was also another way.

Fierce Breaker's own Imposing Law had already reached 99% quality, and by combining it with a couple of insights from the Primordial Force Laws, he could create a partial Refined Law. That rudimentary Refined Law was strong enough to fulfill the criterion.

When Fierce Breaker became a Major Ascendant, he also told the hammer to advance into the Fusion Realm. Its advancement was very simple since it had already undergone its Fusion. The only thing that had happened was that it had absorbed even more Energy.

Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer with excitement and familiarity.

'We're almost there.'

Fierce Breaker told the hammer to continue advancing. Since it already had a 100% quality Imposing Law, there were no bottlenecks. It broke through one level after the other.

Meanwhile, Fierce Breaker infused his body with Kyle's Imposing Law while focusing on his Refined Law.

His last Cluster vanished, and his Core Spark liquefied.

Two terrifying storms of Energy appeared in the world as the hammer and Fierce Breaker advanced.

The hammer became an Advanced Ascendant at the same time as Fierce Breaker became an Advanced Ascendant.

As Fierce Breaker experienced the feeling of having a Divine Consciousness for the first time, he could finally see the truth.

The emotions of reality.

His existence had emotions, and the hammer also had emotions.

They felt distinct, but they also felt identical.

It was like the same object existed in two places at the same time.

Fierce Breaker calmly went through his memories.

He remembered Earth. He remembered the Red Witch. He remembered all the people in the Tertiary World. He remembered meeting Fierce Breaker. He remembered how he had always loved swinging his hammer ever since he had gotten it in Theodor's Inheritance Crypt.

He barely remembered growing up in the Supreme World, but like a dream, the memories were slowly fading away.

He felt the memories of his old life vanishing, but he didn't feel like he was losing anything important.

'I know what you meant, Swamp Dragon,' Fierce Breaker thought as his last memories shot through him. 'Control and freedom.'

'If you master control and freedom, everyone will willingly walk towards the outcome you desire.'

Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer with a warm smile.

'I'm almost dead.'

'My memories, personality, goals, wishes, experiences, and emotions are vanishing.'

The hammer resonated with the surrounding Energies.

Fierce Breaker resonated with the surrounding Energies.

'And yet, I do not mind.'

'A life as Fierce Breaker or a life as Kyle.'

'In the past, I would have preferred Fierce Breaker.'

'But now, I can see how miserable my past has been.'

'Why be Fierce Breaker?'

'It's much better to be Kyle.'

Fierce Breaker turned his head to the sky and closed his eyes with calm acceptance.

'Goodbye, Fierce Breaker.'

Fierce Breaker swung his hammer for one last time.

It was the most beautiful strike he had ever performed. It was identical to the strike Kyle had performed inside the Gate of Death.

His Imposing Law reached 100% quality.

The Major Law of Death appeared in his mind.

The hammer's Energy started to move on its own.

The hammer's consciousness stretched into Fierce Breaker's body, and Fierce Breaker's consciousness stretched into the hammer.

They were one and the same.

Like two streams of water, the consciousness combined into one entity.

There was no difference between them.

Fierce Breaker's last strike ended, and Kyle pulled his hammer over his shoulder again.

'The original Kyle is gone.'

'The original Fierce Breaker is gone.'

'Death and Energy. Loss and gain.'

'I am not Kyle, but I am Kyle.'

Kyle grinned a bit.

'But who cares who I am or where I come from?'

'I am me, and that won't change, no matter how much I change.'
